[Heroes III] Negative Heroes

Ok, I don't know about you but I almost never finnish an XXL map with my color appering on the Kingdom Army Strength, instead it shows a previous defeated color (0), my army went negative values. But in my map I once or twice got the hero himself with a negative army value. How do I know this? Cause I have more then 5000 Azures and even 44 lizards from Month of the Lizardmen want to fight.
Now, is this so commun someone already has some shadowy schemes to use it? I'm thinking of resting myself in front of their towns for a turn, if I know computer he will send all his heroes from weakest to mightyest, full of confidence each one will win the battle and when I take the town he will have no heroes, for instance.

I suspect an overflow situation in the calculations. After all, the game was never designed to have such huge army values.

In the original game (not wog afaik), stack numbers are stored inside a word(signed int16). Thus if you move a stack bigger than 32k (a word can store up to 0xffff, but it's signed, so the higher half are negatives), overflow happens. Strangely enough, you can keep a stack with more than 32k if you keep it in its original slot.

I thik that in game code ffffff is sign negative values. The same is Might and Magic negative points. Health or basic statistics.
If you have so much points game read it as minus.

I know what causes it and yes is an overflow, what I'm asking is for tricks to use it. Like using TAB to create a Shadow Hero. Ok, that's the method, what is it good for? To get more movement. Now, how can I use this overflow to my advantage? Any ideas?

You can move it also, you just need to put a couple of units in the free slot first and then add the rest.

Discovering the wheel in 2017. This is long time know bug in Heroes, if you leave AI heroes with big armies (anything greater than 2000-4000) run around, map will freeze sooner or later. Then 32xxx stacks will vanish if moved outside the slide bar. I spent some time debugging such things, even found out that AI leave some of joiners in towns garrisons, and then once the 7 slots are filled, next time AI visits and want to leave one more, the game will hang forever. Clearly not much tested.

Thats why in WoG all my maps have virtual AI armies, which are added once the fight starts. This way you can exaggerate as much as you want but this requires having stand up AI heroes.

I invaded Orange territory with my negative Corkes and immediately was attacked by a guy with about one hundred Ice Elementals and 20 or something Water Elementals, he splited the Ice Elementals so that he had the seven slots filled. I maybe wrong but I'm guessing it was it, unfortunately I only thought about it latter so I have no picture.

P.S. But he didn't TP other heroes and when I loaded the Autosave he didn't repeat the move, so I'm guessing he "learns" what I really have there (again, can be just random behaviour).

Normal by the biggest creature or negative experience point! If you less to creature, your colour back. Now your creature is weak.

Now I'm pretty sure it works. Today I got attacked by two pathetic heroes that TP to the nearest town to do it.

I would like to ask if any moderator could, if found appropriate, to move the tread to the Library. My findings look valid. Can send a save if you find it important.
