Meh, I fell off this when I got close to the end. Battles were getting repetitive for me. It's too easy. It was just making me really want to play other fire emblem games instead. Next time I play it I'll make a more fun team with less mercenaries.

Started playing the shadow dragon remake on the DS and its scratching that fire emblem itch very nicely. I forgot how great this one was! Starting off you pick normal or hard mode and then there's 5 different hard mode difficulties

How's your game going blob?

Really? You find it easy? I just started chapter 5 and I still find the game not that easy. I grind quite a lot and still find some enemy groups quite hard hitting. I don't know how lucky you were with your stat distribution, but I'm constantly facing enemies that are on par or even stronger then my own units. And I find leveling up really long. Sure I do have some heavy hitters and resistant units, but at the same time I find levels designed in such a way that it's easy for your units to be 'ganged up' upon so you gotta be extra careful especially around Mages and Archers. But that's good, I enjoy the game that much more.

It's the most fun I had with Fire Emblem in years.

EDIT: Finished the game, so now I only have the postgame Dungeon to complete.

Again, one of the best FE games in a while, I enjoyed it throughtfully. It's not perfect, but if they will make more remakes like this then count me in. Also, full voiceovers should stay in this game. Echoes whetted my apetite before the Switch Fire Emblem.

I probably did get lucky with the leveling up lol. I wouldn't say I did a whole lot of grinding, mostly just explored all the dungeons and I never ran from a fight. Some of my units were "suppose" to be worse than they are, like Lyon the archer. He's ranked really low but he turned into one of my best. I forgot some of the names now but my Pegasus Knights dominate cause the arrow vulnerability is almost nonexistent while other units I might have overused so they turned out much stronger a lot quicker. I know Sabre turned into a Dread fighter super early cause he was leveling up so much, and he had a counter part on Alm's team.

Overall what turned me off was the removal of axe classes. Berserkers and Warriors are a big favorite as well as dragon Knights. I'm also a huge fan of getting assassins since they were added so it feels like moving backwards with the series. The other thing is the small battles. I never made it to chapter 5 but I almost did, maybe they got better? I remember watching one of the cinematics of Alm with a huge army behind him and I was like...cmon, it's not even close to that lol. I'll go back to it and start a new file before the year ends because it was a good game, just not the fire emblem I was looking to play. I don't regret buying it or anything. I look forward to more remakes as well. I was reading about one in particular that sounded awesome (mystery of the emblem I think?) and definitely hope they add the voice acting for all future FE games. Also the dungeon crawling, that was a great addition!

I'd say it was more fun than birthright but not quite as good as awakening. Talking strictly gameplay here. I enjoyed not having an avatar character btw. Idk why but I just don't care to make my own overpowered character.

Can't wait for fire emblem to come out on the switch! That's gonna be epic FE Warriors looks pretty bad sadly. I was considering it until the latest trailer came out.

So I completed the post-game Dungeon and for all the things I've read on forums about the place, it wasn't actually that hard to complete. I needed a bit grinding beforehand though. Most of my team were Tier 3 units around lvl 12 (only protagonists were maxed out level wise) with 1-2 stars on each weapon. And this is completly suffcient. Sure there are some strong enemies (especially Dragons), but even the end-boss wasn't that hard if approached with caution. Actually the only hard thing about this Dungeon is that there are no saves in-between, so one mistake with Alm or Celica dying can end your run (at least I think it can).

The only noteworthy reward for completion imo is the final Memory Prism and some stat boosting Springs. Getting a legendary weapon like Astra has such a small % chance that I'm not even counting it.

PS: And of course it's cool to unravel the story behind this post-game Dungeon as it connects with another well known Fire Emblem game
