I might be moving to Las Vegas
The hardest decisions to make are when you're presented with a variety of good choices.
I just found a good opening in Las Vegas - somewhere I never expected to live - but I don't know if I should invest in moving or not. I guess what I'm afraid of is the unknown: if I move only to decide that my previous life was better.

On a completely superficial basis, I think Las Vegas would suit you. Blizz from Vegas sounds right.

I lived most of my life in Pennsylvania. When I finished my degree, most of the jobs I applied for were in the east coast of the US, but I also applied to some further abroad. As it happens, I got a good offer in Chicago. I was pretty reluctant to take it but my wife convinced that I shouldn't pass the opportunity up. So we moved our family out here, far away from anything we knew. It was a pretty scary decision - starting a new job always is, but even more so in a completely foreign environment.
For the most part it was a good decision, despite the adjustment period. But we did sacrifice proximity to family and the support structure that can offer. I wish I could see them more often, particularly my brother.
Also, no transition is necessarily permanent.
Also, the western states are awesome.

Without being overly graphic or going into details, it will suffice to say that my current workplace is a den of ravenous wolves. A new adventure is in order.
There are many attractive features to El Paso. Low cost of living, plenty of opportunities, robust growing economy, rich culture, dark haired women, hot temperatures but low humidity (at my elevation the summers won't be like summers in Florida), lots of sunshine.
