If you could change HOMM3

If you could re-make homm3's towns. Which creatures would you replace with which new creatures? Which creatures would you change around or even switch? You can only put 7 creatures into each of the following towns:

You can use as much neutral creatures as you want of course.

HAVEN: Pikeman / Archer / Griffin / Swordsman / Monk / Cavelier / Angel

RAMPART: Centaur / Dwarf / Wood Elf / Pegasus / Dendroid / Unicorn / Green Dragon

TOWER: Gremlin / Gargoyle / Stone Golem / Mage / Genie / Naga / Giant

INFERNO: Imp / Gog / Hell Hound / Demon / Pit Fiend / Efreet / Devil

NECROPOLIS: Skeleton / Zombie / Wraith / Vampire / Lich / Dread Knight / Bone Dragon

DUNGEON: Troglodyte / Harpy / Evil Eye / Medusa / Minotaur / Manticore / Black Dragon

STRONGHOLD: Goblin / Wolf Rider / Orc / Ogre / Roc / Cyclops / Behemoth

If anything, I'd change Conflux, not to include the Elementals. Following Pixie and Phoenix similarities with Heroes II Sorceress town, I'd consider more magical or fairy-like beasts. E.g. Cockatrice, Kelpie, Peryton and Spriggan.

Well I kind of already made some changes to Rampart thanks to ERA II.



Pixie replaces Centaur, Phoenix replaces Dragons, Elves upgrade to Sharpshooters, I'm happy like this.

Mostly humanoids from towns must be replaced by non-humanoids in my opinion, as some towns have too much humanoids.


Argus must replace the Evil Eye, but only in name.

I want this town to replace: Sanctuary (or any beach/sea town) instead of Conflux.

In HoMM lvl 1-3 units, lvl 4-6 units and lvl 7 units are mainly where the units separate in strength. I'd like for level 6 and level 7 units to be closer than level 5 and level 6 units are, with that in mind I made these lineups.

Castle:
Pikeman/Crossbowman/Swordsman/Griffin/Cavalier/Green Dragon/Angel

Rampart:
Dwarf/Elf/Centaur/Monk/Unicorn/Dendroid/Behemoth

Tower:
Gremlin/Gargoyle/Mage/Golem/Naga/Crystal Dragon/Genie

Dungeon:
Troglodyte/Harpy/Evil eye/Medusa/Minotaur/Red Dragon/Manticore

Necropolis:
Skeleton/Zombie/Ghost/Vampire/Lich/Skeleton dragon/Angel of Death (Grim Reaper)

Inferno:
Imp/Demon/Hellhound/Magma Elemental/Efreet/Pit Lord/Devil

Stronghold:
Gnoll/Orc/Wolf Raider/Wyvern/Ogre/Roc/Titan

Fortress:
Lizardman/Serpent Fly/Basilisk/Troll/Gorgon/Hydra/Cyclops

Perhaps replace Magma Elemental with Fire Elemental?

Frankly, I think the H3 creatures are just fine on their own. Some adjustments to the units is what is needed imo.

The only thing I'd do that I can think of is swap the hell hounds and the gogs in tiering. Hopefully that would make the gogs suck less and give the hell hounds a higher growth rate.
