I am confused - please explain (mods)

Browsing this forum I see:
- some more pak called Era 2.
- The classic by now WOG mod
- The new HotA mod
And many others?

My question is: Is there a way to get them all installed and play with all their features or are they exclusive to one another? Are they compatible among themselves or not?

Is there a tutorial or smth I can read to understand more?

Thanks,

Don't install classic WoG, install Era, wog comes by default with Era. Hota isn't compatible with Era, so you need another game folder for it.

You can combine HotA and Era II in the same folder if you also put Berserker's No HotA maps plug-in for Era in order to get Era singleplayer menu working right.

Destination for the file:

(heroes 3 folder)>Mods*>(mod folder, default: In the Wake of Gods**)>EraPlugins

Plugin itself

Happy playing!

* - appears automatically when Era II is installed.

** - if you use any other massive Era mod other than WoG (well, based on WoG anyway) and experience troubles with the game when it crashes at singleplayer menu, also put the plugin in EraPlugins folder of that mod.

Considering how little space they require by today's standards, I'd say it's still the safer choice to go with separate folders for Era and HotA. Era has zillions of plug-ins and tools and sub-mods, HotA is still in constant development, they both use HD mod which is also updating constantly, so who knows how their interaction may cause unexpected bugs. Just spare an extra GB of space for the game (even less actually) and install them on different copies of the game.
