What burn? And what exactly is infuriating? The game's been on Ubisoft's desk for almost a decade and in development for years. It's been highly anticipated and rumored about and it's finally seen an announcement today at E3, much to the enjoyment of a broad audience if I might add. It has ZERO to do with Vivendi's attempts at conquering Ubisoft and I am getting tired of seeing everything they try to do filtered through this silly train of thought and prejudice. Doing AMAs after a press conference is "desperate" and working on the "pie in the sky" Beyond Good and Evil 2 is a "scorched earth tactic". Please.

aye for sure mate very sly and cynical, after about ten years of development hell and half hearted/assed attempts Yves has suddenly announced in the last year that it has finally been greenlit to enter the preproduction (again), with it no wonder that it coincides with all of that his anti-Vivendi polemic on supporting artists a lot and being the big bastion of creativity in the industry lol
of course that will take several years to finish, is a big scale project and it will be a surprise to make back any of its money given that the original was a big financial failure so it is for sure the opportunely timed middle finger to Vivendi and scorched earth tactic more than anything else, he knows Vivendi will either probably take a hit on it or be lynched to cancel it lol

Interesting. Because I just saw Michel Ancel earlier and he said that they've been working on the game's technology alone for 3 years, which puts it before Vivendi's shares acquisition no matter how you look at it. Source. Never mind the buildup and the assets up to that point, because that's somehow irrelevant compared to the "timing".
