SPACE.MARINE.SEQUEL.NOW.

screw all the other noise. we want more ultrasmurf Titus.

Also another iteration of Gorkamorka would be great, given how we got some more mad maxy stuff for the Bestest Boyz in the recent years.

^What are those, members of the McOrk clan?

Not sure why there's no planned sequel to Space Marine to be honest, that game seems to be universally liked by the community (as much as that is realistically possible anyway) and that's quite an achievement for a universe which has produced almost exclusively crap for PC/console to date. Also, for a game with such a minimalistic story, it managed to end with a nasty cliffhanger which begs to be addressed and could potentially be expanded quite nicely.

Because the developer went bust and no one else picked up the IP.

There are interviews with iirc storyboard director floating around the web where he discusses the what was supposed to be a trilogy.
In the second one Titus was supposed to go renegade, and redeemed in the third along with his own ultrasmurf clone chapter as a reward.

And yes, the orks based on scotsman chavs. although needed more cringe tats to represent the most famous scotsman of them all, Count "muh freedom of speech reeee" Cuckula.

Yeah, I've read about these plans - about the renegade stuff and all - but isn't the IP with Games Workshop? If so, I'd expect them to find literally any developer and just milk the name, quality be damned - after all that's what they have been doing for decades now.

who knows.

My bet is everyone caved in when the soys of "game journalism" reeeed on twatter and every dumbass "gaming" site that Space Marine is a rip off of Gears of War gameplay wise, which is nothing further from the truth.

and you know how soys are in their mob attacks, nobody wants to give them a taste of daddy's belt, so they just bend the knee which is the most beta, if not omega move to make.

Sorry I'm bragging about T'au still, but they are shaping up to be one of my fav factions in the W40k lorewise. Reading about them is like you were watching a game of Stellaris or Endless Space unfold And they really feel like this "homey" faction with their tribalism, even though at this point they are indoctrinated "join us or die" lot.

Hmm a fun theory is that T'au were "jump-started" by the Void Dragons influence (as a reminder a C'Tan that is also considered to be Adeptus Mechnicus god, the Omnissiah). That would explain they're fast technological advancment, becasue through Etherals they had access to the supreme technologies of Mars. All this to create a force that will fight ultimately fight Chaos, becasue as you might know T'au are almost immune to it, or like it's explained in the codex, they have little connection to it, so are hard to corrupt and actually stay off radar of Ruinous Forces for the most part. Another theory states that they might've been created by a smaller Chaos God that is yet to make his appearance, a "personification" of the "Greater Good".

And ofc there is Farside with his Enclave faction who took a glimpse into the warp and suspects Etherals of some foul motives.

PS: I noticed that T'au are the first faction to seemingly have almost non-existant ways to heal/repair themsleves. There's like one Stratagem that heals, and other then that some units might "take the bullet" instead like Drones or Tidewalls. It would actually made sense if at some point GW will introduce healer drones...

It's a shame GW is seemingly keeping them on the weaker side powerwise.

the only one's crapping on Tau, or T'au to be more GW correct, are the brainlets perpetuating the "muh fish commies" meme.

also if you let your tau army be slaughtered, you're not playing them right.

I think their markerlight spam can rack up some pretty nice damage. Plus they have a stratagem that literally rains a flame pillar that cooks each unit in its wake:

Orbital Ion Beam (3CP) Commander has not moved or Manta Striked in the preceding movement phase. Pick two points on the battlefield 2D6 apart and draw a line between them. Each unit suffers D3 mortal wounds on a 4+ (characters 5+).

Their two biggest downsides is no heal and no psykic powers.

Yeah, the Tau are actually a great faction that isn't "So big that it's actually stupid and doesn't make sense" like the Imperium. They're also pretty much the closest things to a "good guys" faction in 40k, and were unambiguously a force of good back in 5th edition, when they were a new faction and didn't have some grim sprinkled in to add moral ambiguity to their society.

... The Farsight Enclaves are the original Tau society. No ethereals that are ruling as brainwashing despots and dictators, open to other species, genuinely striving to make the galaxy a better place, etc.

On the Void Dragon theory: I believe there's also theory out there that the Star Child (the fragment of the Emperor's psyche that contains his empathy, which he cast out during the duel with Horus so he could kill his own son) is the being that inspired the Tau's meteoric ascent. Which makes sense, given their generally high levels of empathy for other species (... at least in 40k,) their naivete, and their abhorrence of the ruinous powers. And the Imperium of Man has lost more tech than they have advanced since the Emperor's time, so it also makes sense that the Star Child would be able to increase a species' technological development.

It could also be a mix of both, simply working together (in an uneasy alliance) to make an anti-necron, anti-chaos weapon so that there is a better place to live.

... Also, I've purchased some Warcry kits (the new starter set, the chaos beasts and the bird cult) and a Swarmlord. Because the Swarmlord is a fantastic model. Fight me.

Yeah, they totally use propaganda. They use advanced holo-projector technologies to bend reality. One of the Etherals (forgot his name), is long dead, but they use a highly sophisticated projection to fool the populace that he is still alive. Or the cover up of the Fourth Expansion Numenar Point tragedy, which they actually presented as success. Plus they keep the populace in the dark about Chaos, kinda like Ordo Malleus does for humanity or else madness would spread (The lore states that if the awareness of Chaos was more widespread it would spell doom for the Imperium cus emotions feed Ruinous Powers).

Speaking of Fourth Expansion it is one of the most interesting bits of T'au lore, when some pretty unexplained and snowed up stuff happened in the warp in which they were trapped after ripping a hole in the Immaterium (like a literal T'au Greater Good manifestation coming into being, of T'au origin or at least through the minds of non T'au xenos). The survivors became pretty racist afterwards

With the whole Silent King returning I think the narrative will turn very heavily towards C'tan. Hmm, C'tan vs Ruionous Powers, that would be something

You're kidding!? Everything Tyranid is awesome. I would myself buy a Swarmlord if not for the fact I wouldn't stand to see such a big unpainted miniature standing on my desk (no kip I WON'T paint!).

Tyranids are, like, my favs faction in the game.

I don't have a tyranid army. So the Swarmlord is going to be a lovecraftian monster proxy for my D&D sessions. And it is beautiful. Most of the Tyranid line is fantastic, in fact, with some... notable exceptions. *Stares at the Pyrovores judgementally.*

I will say that I don't particularly care for most of their ranged weapon aesthetics, though. Yeah, it's neat how they're growing out of the arms of the tyranids and all... but it still just kinda looks wonky on a lot of the models. Their big siege critters, which are basically just a giant gun on legs, I'm totally fine with. It's just the infantry with external ammo packs that makes it weird.

Space Wolves are the most badass Space Marine chapter. Prove me wrong!

They have:
- epic beards
- epic furcoats
- have a snowed up plannet and probably have some of the hardest rites to become a SM (one can even turn into a werewolf which is even more badass)
- eternally fight empty-inside Tzeentch puppets which actually have the most badass traitor Legions design. So it's double-badass when they fight. I think Tzeentch minions are also hardest to fight because they can turn you into a cackling mass of tentacles on a whim.
- have oversized wolf companions (pets are always cool). Or even cyber-wolf companions
- their Primarch has tanks named after him

Wolf sworn with their Wolf claws riding war wolves under the watchful eyes of their Wolf fathers, all decked out in their Wolf space armor forged by their Wolf smiths in the Wolf hall.

Basically, their faction is WolfwolfwolfwolfwolfwolfwolfwolfwolfWolfwolfwolfwolfwolfwolfwolfwolfwolfWolfwolfwolfwolfwolfwolfwolfwolfwolfWolfwolfwolfwolfwolfwolfwolfwolfwolfWolfwolfwolfwolfwolfwolfwolfwolfwolfWolfwolfwolfwolfwolfwolfwolfwolfwolfWolfwolfwolfwolfwolfwolfwolfwolfwolf

I mean, they're still badass, but Salamanders literally bathe in promethium as their coming of age rite, and they are one of the only chapters that universally strives to protect the citizens of the Imperium at all costs rather than seeing them as cannon fodder or an obstruction. So pretty much every Space Marine chapter is badass.

why not both?

Wolves are... well wolves. they drink booze that kills a lesser man(we have that too here it's called Zalgiris mead balsam, which is the closest thing to Fenrisian Mjod one can get), they have wulfen, and they have Bjorn the Russ bro, the latter who has the same amount of authoritah as Rawbutt Girlyman before Rowboat Guiltyman began banging his eldar waifu.

And Salamanders while being the "bros" in terms of their behaviour and attitude, ironically use some of the worst, inhumane weapons known to man. haha flamer go wooosh.

I'd also add Blood Angels to this band. guys who engage in fine arts and fine everything, yet get so enraged at times that even the most insane of Khorne followers are telling them to chill the bleep out. They, and not the white scars are the fastest chapter too, because as orky scoince says, DA RED WANZ GO FASTAAAAAAA!

Wonder if those two unknown Legions are any good...

By the way wtf is with the lore of those two? What is GW's deal with them? Are they simply placeholders for some future projects? It's ridicolous that "all data about them has been removed from the archives" since like forever. Or is it so becasue it's GW basically saying "hey, there's a free spot here, gamers, you can create your own chapter"?

I wonder what they'll ultimately decide to do with the Alpha legion. These blokes are by far the most interesting bunch as pretty much everything around them is one big question mark. In the hands of a half-talented author that could be exploited pretty nicely.
