New Heroes 3 Mod

This is New Heroes3 Mod on ERA2.46

This mod is a whole renovation on the Heroes3 (based on TE), done by me, Hawaiing, TT and others. To make this run with the original WOG options, I have extracted the essential settings from NH3 to the Essential Mod.

New Heroes 3 Essential

Version 1.00

This mod contains the essential part of the New Heroes 3 Mod.
This mod should be run on ERA2.46 and higher.

Things in this mod:

1. Monsters
# Higher level monsters will have much higher HP.
# Lower level 1 monsters will have much higher growth rate.
# The chances of triggering monster skills are increased.
# All monsters' WOG experience abilities are removed.
# Some monsters will have new skills.
# Spell casters can cast spells on themselves.
# Spell casters can move after casting a spell.
# War machines receive bonus HP based on the total HP of troops.
# Creature banks will have more low level monsters.
# Monsters will have uncapped Morale and Luck (including negative Luck).
# Dwelling costs and dependencies are modified.

2. Secondary skills
# Diplomacy allows hero to persuade monsters to join or to leave. Living monsters will never join undead heroes.
# Eagle Eye allows hero to observe target hero's secondary skills and spells
# First Aid allows tents to have Heal Points (reflected as damage of tents) to revive troops.  
# Ballistics is weakened to extend seige battles.

3. Spells
# The costs and effects of spells are calibrated.

4. Battle Hints
# Better mouseover hints with expected number of kills and colors.

5. WOG options
# New Command points: Limit the number of troops a hero can bring into battle.
# New Castle Upgrading: Increase the dwelling production rate.
# This mod is compatible with most WOG options. Players should choose them with discretion.

6. Bug Fixes
# Some bug fixes  
# Network battle tested OK

Download Complete Mod Chinese
Click the button with XX(17.1M) at top right.
Unzip to the Mods/ folder.
Use Mod Manager to enable or disable it.

I extracted the essential part of this mod.
So it can run with the original WOG settings.

I list down 3 creature skills from each town here:

1. Pikemen have more bonus against cavalries.
2. Royal Griffins deal bonus damage when counterattacking
3. Zealots can cast spells to adjacent Castle allies.
4. Dwarves receive bonus when ally dies.
5. Dendroid Soldiers can transfuse HP to adjacent Rampart allies.
6. War Unicorn can copy enemy hero's beneficial spells.
7. Gremlins can stun enemy and fix machines.
8. Nagas can block melee attacks.
9. Titans cast AOE lightning after attack.
10. Demons deal bonus damage when walking straight.
11. Efreet Sultans cast fire shield spell.
12. Arch Devils cast hypnotize after attack.
13. Zombies' disease will reduce speed to 1 and is contagious.
14. Wraith can steal ammos and evade melee attacks.
15. Power Lich can cast Animate Undead.
16. Troglodytes deal double damage when attacking from behind.
17. Minotaur Kings receive bonus when enemy dies.
18. Black Dragons place fire walls after attack.
19. Hobgoblins and Wolf Raiders can collaborate when attacking and defending.
20. Ogre Mages will reduce HP limit to offset part of the incoming damage.
21. Ancient Behemoths receive bonus after melee fights.
22. Gnoll Maurauders may get bonus after taking damage.
23. Greater Basilisks convert damage dealt to its own HP limit.
24. Chaos Hydras can regenerate and revive.
25. Energy Elementals cast Inferno after counterattack.
26. Magma Elementals cast Meteor after attack.
27. Pheonixs will have 100% rebirth.

Hi, looks to me like a melting pot of some old mods, as Fnord's capped hero troops - command points (which I never liked), Bad's extra neutrals and some others. Is it possible to make a more explicit opening post, with pics and detailed additions? Thus it will go from " play because is different" to "play because sounds more interesting".

All work to do HIII better is welcome. Especially Era/WoG. Another gamplay is another fun.
As I told  first thing to mod is skill system. More skill levels. In WoG it can be 1 lvl for hero 2 level for commannder 3 for hero 4 for commander etc. It gives 2x lvls.

Not really mass blind. Each monster hit by Titan's lightning has a chance to be blinded.

Any way you could post the script for daily creature maintenance cost? Its something I've been trying to do for a bit now, but could never figure out how.

Also, I really like this whole concept and would definitely play it more if it was ever translated into english

The maintenance script is taken and modified from some old project. I have seen that on HC before.
But I wasn't involved in this part, so I cant tell you much of the details.
You can try to look at script01 FU23032 and its related functions.
It looks like a whole mess for me as well.

Gold Dragons now die to Armageddon too and still can't be resurrected. Now can't even use Magic Mirror on them.

Oy vey.

Make resurrection level five? It's possibly the strongest spell in the game as resurrected troops don't disappear at end of combat, so both useful for creeping without losses and for massive battles. (This will also fix Sacrifice)

I see. Gold Dragon can be resurrected by the Dendrites when standing nearby.

Tents can resurrect everything.
Power Liches can resurrect undead.
Master Gremlins can resurrect nearby Iron Golems.

I don't like the cheap resurrections. But this mod's chief designer likes it.

In the mods data folder, open SPTRAITS.txt with the text tables editor. Resurrection is the 3rd Level 4 Earth spell on the list. Make it a 5 if you like

Not good idea because that way it will also become very rare to get, as lev 5. Make it level 5 only during battles, then revert to standard after battle.

I always wait for creations for heroes 3 WOG or ERA II and new interesting maps

Most of them are worthy to make the game more balance and delightful
It shows your creation, and passion for the game.

Many players like to reedit a bit before starting a long journey with the map

I hope you can show me how to do it

This mod is not a map.

If you want to do any editing, you can modify the txt files and the erm scripts.

You can always use any map and wogify when the game starts.
By default, wogfication is on.

The download link is ok. Possibly bad international network connection. Just try a few times.

Watch out! Language will be a big headache. Hehe.
