After all these years...

And with a broken heart, I am sad to say that I had to let go of my Nokia X7. Today is the end of an era and the beginning of a new one without my most trusted mobile brand. It's been 6 years of memories and good times and many more with the Nokia Ashan from before, but as it happens with all good things, they come to an end. Right now I am left with no choice but to get along with my new partner, a Samsung J3, which I received as a gift. There might come a day in the future, a good day, when a Nokia smarthphone might make its way back into my life, but for now, it is farewell. You have served me well for all these years. May you rest in peace.

I've used Samsung phones my whole life. Well, other than the landline phone from over a decade ago. My first Samsung fell out of my pocket on a roller coaster. The guy on duty retrieved it from the mulch unharmed. It was hence nicknamed Lazarus. Gold with black trim with a little keyboard. You could flip it open both vertically and horizontally, either for typing or talking. There was a digital analog clock on the outside that used silver Roman numerals. Damn was that thing was a fine marriage of style and engineeeing. I've had several phones since then, but none possessing the novelty or obdurance of my firstborn.

I'm currently using a Galaxy S8+. It's alright.
