@Sal

1- I clearly remember reading about pre agricultural matriarchal examples, so it is not a myth. It is not common yes, but it existed. Hence, I said "even some existed." I am at the airport now, so no research link  will be possible.
2- Intellectually, women are not less capable than men, their intellect is not identical but that is something else. They will be better at some things and we will be better at other things if you take things on a task specific base. So your question is kind of like asking can Beethoven compose everything Mozart can, he doesnt have to and the system shouldnt be set up only according to Mozart's or Beethoven's skills.
3- Btw, what is your point, that patriarchy is justifable because it's biological, 75.000 years of pre-agriculture without patriarchy and 10.000 years make it biological? No, most of it is indeed sociological and that is not a debate, it has been documanted by comparing cultures of all sort.
4- 300 years ago, arguments similar to yours were presented to justify slavery, it had existed in almost all cultures (again not before property), it had always been around, etc etc... Things progress, the physical brawn you have over women is very insignificant today in almost any situation, so it's pointless to make it a cause for social significance.

Well, my answer to that questions would have been objective: "I don't know" while you all jump in the unknown and claim you know, without any statistics supporting your claim. But, if we take in consideration your arguments about the sociological construct parameter, I would say wait and see, now that every gender gets same opportunity. Also your comparison is not good, the question is not if Beethoven can compose everything Mozart can - this is a technical shift, but did a woman contribute to the shape of - in this case- classical music as much as Beethoven, Mozart + 150 other composers males did. No, or not yet, and this is like your matriarchal societies, they were so important and decisive that you need "research" to find one. Nonetheless, I sincerely hope you show me one, because I am eager to know their Aristotle, Plato and Kant equivalents, right?

My view is that  genders, races and cultures are not interchangeable, they can possibly complete each other, females are surely better fit at some things than males, but also vice-versa, and that includes self-control, discipline, mental endurance, parameters which define the top-level of what some human can potentially achieve - all fields included. So when you guys say "let's rethink the genders roles" and you base your arguments only on kindness because this is how it sounds in the end, I am not at all tempted to follow this path.

Also I will add that the guys who defend the right of women to same opportunities because they supposedly are men's equals, find no strange that in most of civilized countries, there is an increasing and legalized attempt to positive discrimination, so on one side you think they deserve, but when in fair competition - which is what you asked btw, you allow them to start running minutes before. Thats a serious problem.

There are hundreds of comparative IQ statistics supporting “my claims” about gender, race isnt even biologically a scientific reality among humans, we havent evolved far away enough to be considered really seperate races. Culture is not static, it constantly reshapes and all cultures slowly merge as the world gets smaller, just like provinces evolving into national cultures. Women can have as much endurance and discipline as men and there are literally thousands of historical examples of this. So your views are utterly wrong, even my granny born in 1926 has a more contemporary understanding of the world than you do. Keep watching Tucker, Sal.

Look, it is you who came with the claim that matriarchal societies already existed. So, following your logic which says that gender roles are a social construct and women were kept at the bottom in patriarchal societies, IF we had indeed matriarchal ones, we should naturally find the feminine equivalent of Plato, Aristotle, Homer. Where are they?

Ok then. Give me  the feminine counterpart of Bach, Mozart, Kant, Plato, Aristotle, Darwin, Marx, Freud and so many others who shaped the societies, culture and values we cherish today. You speculate and call yourself a modernist while rewriting history to fit your narrative. This is usually called propaganda, however I give you the opportunity to back your claims with substantial data.

Please, there is no counterpart to Bach (masculine or feminine) and you know it. But I would argue that Margaret Mead is quite a counterpart (in her field) to Freud.

I said some matriarchal societies existed in pre-agricultural times, tribes, which obviously wont produce Plato or Bach, similar anachronism with your other examples, you take them from a period when it wasnt even customary for women to be professionals, put aside geniuses. A Room Of One's Own and all that...But look at 20th century and there are already top notch female artists or scientists, even though the conditions werent still exactly ideal. Also, endurance and discipline is not about the core of genius, to quote Helen Fischer, men's intelligence work more step by step, we usually tend to compartmentalize better, now that is an actual neurological nuance you see, which is a very big advantage when it comes to genius level creativity. Still, I'd say Le Guin classifies as one of the most important sci-fi writers of 20th century for instance, and even one example is enough to show it is not biological unless that person has a biological anomaly which she don't.

Older people sleep less and have problems with being asleep the entire night, as a matter of fact I often visit the forum after 4 o'clock, when I woke up to go to the bathroom and then, after one hour or two, I return to bed to finish my sleep.
