Number 3 hands down.

I once binge watched the whole extended trilogy, best 12 hours of my life.

I did the same with the Hobbit, the extended version is kind of better than the movie itself, even with its issues.

I need to try to watch back to back the Hobbit and then LOTR all extended, that would be maddeningly epic and glorious.

Was never a fan of 2, and LotR from the movies I only liked the first one, so better stick to the books there IMO

Hell yeah, Zelazny's Amber series are my all times favorite in the genre (and all of them, not only first five).

Hard to choose, but here goes:

Both the show and the books GoT/ASOIAF are exceptionally good at what they do with the fantasy/political thriller mix and the number of characters and intrigues make it ideal for reading or watching it again for me.

I'll always feel somewhat nostalgic about some of the Harry Potter films (mainly the first two) and the books were quite fun at the time, and while I still find them entertaining I really can't put this series in the same league as the other two choices.

Lord of the Rings is still the classic as far as fantasy works go, including both films and books. I can always go back to any of them and still feel immersed in Middle-Earth and start the quest all over again.

I'll go with #1, with #3 as a very close second.

Kidding, numero 3, porfavor

The Classic Tolkien Fan.

Elvin
Lotr. I have read all of them but lotr feels like a class of its own, despite its more or less black and white morality. It is simply put, epic. Harry Potter is enjoyable and imaginative but more of a teen story. And honestly, Harry started getting on my nerves after he got angsty. Song of ice and fire is the one I have read the least but while I enjoy the intrigue and the writing, it somehow lacks the appeal of lotr. I think I've read each book more than 4 times.

But even compared to these three, I find Zelazny's Amber series(first 5 books, Corwin cycle) more to my liking. The family dynamics, the intrigue, the amazing protagonist and the setting's rules are a fantastic mix.

This community sure has a favourite fantasy, and it's not hard to see why due to HOMM and LOTR having similarities.

Kipshasz
1st and 3rd.
Second one you can remill into toilet paper.
terrible plot, even more terrible plotholes and plot devices and so forth and so forth (refer to the Harry Potter: Cynical Insight thread here on HC)
As a kids book its fine for what it is, as serious work of fiction... You can wipe your rear end with it, even without reprocessing it. Might as well save that toilet paper, it's worth a whole lot more.

Tolkien's work is still the undisputed God-Emperor of fantasy epics. Other notewrothy fantasy epics are Moorcock's Eternal Champion series and Cook's Black Company books(although adding the latter is a bit stretching it).
A Song of Ice and Fire, while trying to follow in the footsteps of Tolkein is not strictly a fantasy epic - it's a political thriller with a side of medieval fantasy, and it's fantastic for what it is. So quit your whining about the long time it takes to finish the book, I want to see how many material Martin has actually tossed out or rewriten.

I guess you see J.K. Rowling as a pretender, but at least George RR Martin finally gets some credit, despite the South Park tense.

That's not what we were talking about though. The appeal of the series was in question, not their respective authors' talent.

Number 1. Club sandwiches rule.

Egg casseroles aren't very exciting. Number 3 has great potential, but it isn't covered in pickled jalapenos, ergo it is a mild dish that is fit only for small children and weak-stomached pussies.

Third looks like someone vomited in the plate. I presume it's mexican..? Never let a spaniard or any of it's former provinces near the kitchen.

Second is a overcomplicated scrambled eggs with crap in it.

First one it is. Sandwich, simple, and classical.

Da fuq, do none of you have a produce section at your grocery stores?

It's tortilla chips with ground beef and cheese. The veggies are tomatoes, avocado, and green onion.

Well, I've never tried it, and I'd have to make my own if I wanted to.  Avocado is very expensive, though, and I don't know if I could afford to spend much money on a meal that doesn't seem like it would satiate me.

Attention Britain: omg it's called a pit, not a stone.

That reminds me of my experiences with mangos until I learned to just eat around the middle. The stone is the shape of an oval and you practically have to perform surgery to cut around it.

Avocado is sort of meh for me, but once you smash it up into guacamole for some strange reason it seems awesome all the sudden.

They sell them in mass quantities here at the border. I use avocado oil for cooking/greasing.
