Sounds too literal for the vastness of thought it encompasses. Kinda like the Japanese terms

I had an MRI today. I might have indulged in some omphaloskepsis. Bliz is not to be blamed for any of this.

I read an article that had the expression "navel gazing" in it (which I think is more of a Britishicism because I've heard it like a total of 4 times in my life or something), so I wikied it to get the exact story. It was one of those times where you can figure out the meaning from the context, but you would prefer further elaboration to sate your curiosity.

That is when I encountered the Greek: omphaloskepsis.

So much fun to say.

OMPHALOSKEPSIS.

I'm not really big on omphaloskepsis though. My navel just has a bunch of hair on it and it's kind of weird looking. Female belly buttons are much better.

How is it weird looking? Is it one of those that are mound-like that stick out instead of being a nice crater?

They're called "innies" and "outties".

No I got an innie.

Outties are cute too though. I don't mind a girl with an outtie.

Good to know, you live and you learn lol.

Though it is perfectly reasonable to break up with someone with an outie navel. Personality matters none at that point. Villains have outies.

Natural breathing is best done from the belly, not the chest. Most people would find this confusing but it is more efficient. And focusing on your breath is one of the ways to ease yourself into meditation. Center, breathing, meditation, they are connected.

Ofc any activity that requires focus can work as meditation. Even watching the flame of a candle.

I think if you're looking downward and you don't have a shirt on, your gaze tends to be instinctively drawn towards the navel.

If you have a fresh wound or a scar, your eyes tend to be drawn towards it even if it doesn't hurt at all,  since it is an inconsistency with the rest of the skin, and the navel is, technically speaking, a scar from severing the umbilical cord.

I have a small scar on the back of my hand I got when I was teenager, sparing with staves, and I notice I tend to look at it from time to time. It's just where my eyes fix themselves.

I'm actually surprised this is a thing. If it weren't for this thread I'd probably never knew.

Lmao, I don't think this is meant to be taken literally. I mean if you want to meditate you want a focus point in your mind to start letting go of the other distractions, until your mind is empty. But I wouldn't be staring at it like an idiot lol

Your navel carries an extra 7 dimensions tightly rolled up and hidden away.  There's no telling what you'd be able to see if you gazed long enough.
