Children

So:

Are you concerned about having children? Have you ever thought about that?

Debate, develop, argue. Don’t try to flee Elvin, as you’re now chained.

I am thinking about the possibility of adopting maybe when I am like 40+, but that is a big maybe. I don't really feel the need to have children, but I am aware I might think differently later in my life.

I'm 40. I think it's a little bit late for that, unless something really extraordinary happens. Like acting stupid out of love when a future loved one wants a child so much. It feels weird to imagine myself 55 and dealing with a kid's puberty problems.

my father had his first at 24, a second and a third one at 42, 3 more at 61.

Is a pity my father doesn't know condoms exist.

Ok, "3 more at 61" part justifies your sarcasm but early 40's are not so late to have a second or even third chlid. That's different. Then, it's already the way you have been, you are already prepared as a family man from your much more adaptative years.

Btw, you have 5 sisters and brothers?

I have no sarcasm about age, imo you can make children one day before you die, granted you leave enough resources for their survival. The state will take care of their education, he is so eager to do so.

No, the problem with him is that he forgets the kids he did before meeting new 18 yo wife, every time. Then he remembers only when he needs money. Family can be a weird environment sometimes.

IIRC I have 2 kids in children's homes, and if any more come along that's where the rest will go too.

I gave it some thoughts at different stages in my life.

When I was a little kid I wanted to have children as soon as possible, because I didn't like that my parents were relative old when I was a child, not something I wanted for my child. Btw. back then I imagined I'd finish school and future educations much younger than normal, because I believed myself to have the abilities to do so.

Later I decided it would only make sense to have children once I could provide a safe home where they had the freedom to reach their ambitions, so mostly once I got a good job.

Now I'm even more confused about it than ever, in one sense I regret not having children much earlier, in another I find it irresponsible of me had I done so.

Finally I have had consideration if it's alright to bring life that is doomed to perish. Not that those kind of thoughts have ever made me live differently.

Although I'm not that patient with other children, specially noisy ones, but I do like the idea of having a couple of them. 1 is too few, if one dies, you get none. 2 is ok, but if one dies, the other one will be too lonely. 3 seems the best number, before getting too much and if one dies, 2 will last to make each other company. Similar to dogs.

Expensive dogs.

@Panda: If we're talking numbers, go for the lowest age gap possible and no less than 4.
Age gap is so they grow up as actual siblings, close and stuff

4 is because:

-It is scientifically proven that being an only child sucks. My observations seem to confirm this.
-2 is risky imo, they get lonely AND the older one will dupe the younger into supporting all kinds of crazy shenanigans.
-3? Always, ALWAYS a 2-on-1 in any fight or debate over any issue. Avoid!

The merits of 4:
Nobody gets lonely, no-one draws the short straw consistently, most card/board games require a minimum of 4 players, there's always someone around just contributing to the general atmosphere of familial bliss

Why, yes, I do have 3 siblings!

How can you have 3 siblings while being an only child?

Anyway 42 is the true bare minimum. No one has experienced real happiness before having given birth to 42 babies simultaneously.

That's because you're doing it wrong:

The children should be bringing in the money, not taking it.
