Sharing something about Mod

This is a tool for modifying properties.

Run it you need
1.Unzip to the game folder

It's not English, maybe it's not easy to understand.
I do a simple explanation

First page


Main
1.Village Hall  Get Gold per day

2.Town Hall   Get Gold per day

3.City Hall Get Gold per day

4.built two kinds of dwellings (LV2,LV3,LV4)  Or by default

5.The resources AI has at the beginning of the game
Five difficulties levels  (Gold,Wood&Ore,precious resource)

6.Get all the experience in Champion Game
 AI has been drinking Potion of Immortality in Champion Game


Second page




8.Creture
select one creature
Check the box in front of the number.Then choose the stunt you like.  But it has to be in the order(1,2,3,4)
Not in the middle blank

Third page




9.Heroe
The first box is the Basic attribute increase(per level for heroes)
Defenses  / Majic point
Speed    / Magic resistance%

The second box is to change the professional property
Support 6 kinds
Illusionist,Cardinal,Field Marshal,Lord Commander,General,Demonologist


Fourth page



10.Skill
Currently only support Tactics
Calculation formulalevel/Number)*10*Tactical skill addition)/100
You can change the Number


Fifth pages



11.Spell
Currently only support Dragon Strength
number * 50%


Last page




12.Artifacts
Currently only support Equestrian Gloves & Surefooted Boots
number%   Increase of mobility  (max 127%)
Surefooted Boots :Increase the movement of Heroes


When you choose, close the window of the tool, and the game will run automatically.

In general, more functions can be added
Write the related code into the DLL,it will support more things

I'm not sure if it can be used in the English version.It's better to test it.

So is this only compatible with equi 3.55, not 3.51??

I did notice some of the new Equi (3.6??) features mentioned in one of the dll files.. But I though the editable Tavern and working Boots of Levitation were in v.3.6??

Anyway, it would be nice with a translated version of the tool

Well, I was able to download the tool from Baronus. Maybe this will lead to a new experimental version of the Greatest Mod (To which I still have to change the name )


Anyways, to potential editors who haven't seen the discussion of this tool in my mod's topic: Bewqare with adding more abilities to creatures. it works but may take off abilities of other things like artifacts, because the space for storing this on the game memory is limited.

I've been analyzing the Hex code recently.
I think the key to a lot of effects is CALL.
Such as Call name.00661AF0
It acts on heroes, creatures, and treasures.
The effect is to give a ability.



This section of the code is about Halberd of the Swiftwatch .
Because it uses Call 00661AF0  So I can find the Swiftwatch quickly.

We can analyze an exact object from CALL.
And a lot of CALL have not been analyzed
It is the same in any version.

It can be used for WoW? Its hard work to rewrite it for clean HIV?
I need hero exp levels correction. Can be added?
And for Hero start hp and hp growth? Eg not 100 and 10 per lvl but 200 and 20?

Will be good ad with this system something like WoG or HotA!

1.It can.
2.Writing a new game is the best way.The old structure restricts H4.
Just like the Vcmi for H3.Still use the original graphics&sounds and add more things.Our imagination can be fully played.

3.Different content depends on different files.
The content related to the numbers is in Table
But the exception of the hero.
HP and the damage are influenced by the formula.I haven't found it for the time being

Unreasonable data structures can lead to a lot of problems.
If I want to add more than 13 attacks to a sword.I need to write a lot of line code.Rather than changing a number
Adding code will bring more BUG.
So I'm more inclined to rewrite

Yes VCMI for H4 is inevitable if we want more towns, units. More heroes class! Artifacts, spells!
We must rewrite all map AI! Its failed now.
Siege castle. Must be completly another builded - with shooting tower. May be one but must be. Catapult must back too.
Citadel and castle should give units growth because now is for nothing.
...

A lot of things needs repair.  In this case VCMI has more and more sense than in H3.

But we dont have a lot of programmers. You, Iliveinabox and who else? I can do somethnig in graphic or ballancing but not in code.  But if it start new people will join to.
Your work on this tool cant be lost.

I'll make the current H4 better.
A basic program can let us learn a lot
It takes time to rewrite a game So I'll make an improved version for the ordinary player.And some useful tools.This allows more people to take part in, rather than face boring code.
After that, explore new H4.
Of course, drawing is also very important though I'm not good at it.

About art, we already have a big base, see here http://heroescommunity.com/viewthread.php3?TID=43020

Once we have good conversion tools, thousands of isometric sprites can easily be ported to Heroes 4


For other parts, I have already been able to edit the UI and all portraits with mass methods. (The UI is unrealeased, though)

WIth the new converter-assisted way to edit portraits (export as .ora, edit and reimport + hex edit some errors), we can also edit all spell, skills and abilities icons.
