Though Orryth had come a long, and fairly satisfying way with his enchantments, he still did what he could with learning how to produce magic outward. Tonight seemed as though it was a great night to practice. He stood well outside of camp, with Empellian and Dhulja hanging out nearby, just in case one of his spells went horribly wrong for him, and they had to run for help, or assist. Orryth faced the widest field of openness he could see and started casting a spell. Out flew...something. Orryth couldn't tell what, with its speed, but he knew it wasn't what he had wanted. He began casting again. Upon the second spell's completion, a green glob went forth from his hands, landing on the ground a few hundred feet away. He went over and checked the results, finding the grass had been eaten away by the temporary bit of acid he sent at it. He smiled. It hadn't been exactly what he was going for, but it was one of the closest to his intended results he had ever managed. He went back to the spot he was before, wanting to put in some more practice, hoping to improve upon his mild success.

After Rajganur was secured, Domerth had resumed the march southwards to Sequat. The fertile plains with bits of lush jungles gave way to a rocky valley, with a long plateau on the right side of the road. Domerth ordered his troops to be alert, as this spot was great for an ambush. As few days passed, and there were no serious threats, save for a few goblin bands that the Brotherhood dispatched rather quickly, given the numbers were always in the Company's favor.
On about the fifth day of marching alongside the plateau, Magnus spotted, what he believed was a hidden entrance. The suppose site was overgrown, with a few old olive trees nearby it. After clearing out the bushes, they found an arch carved into the rock of the plateau, worn with time. There was a barely readable inscription on the arch, written in elvish.
There was supposed to be a hidden switch somewhere nearby, however some of the support corps members were ready with their pickaxes. Before they went to work, Halfman examined the site, most notably the arch and the surviving inscription on it.
- Not Dominion markings, that's for sure. The inscription on the arch mentions a Goddess, but that's the only thing I can make out from it.
- Could it be like the one we found along the road to Sapphire? - Domerth asked.
- Possibly. - Halfman replied. Meanwhile Magnus snooped around, most likely looking for the hidden switch. With a bit of fiddling around the ancient olive trees, he found it. As he pulled the lever, the massive stone door began to open.
Domerth had been given a torch, as were the few others. He drew Wyrm's Fury, and followed the few Sword Brethren that went into the hidden structure, nodding for the others to follow him.

Inside, they found themselves in a temple like structure. It was decorated as best it could be, since it used low end materials. Apart from a large layer of dust, the temple seemed intact.
In front of them, a statue depicting the elven patron goddess, Calista.

- This statue depicts Calista, who was the patron deity of the elves, before the vast majority of them turned to worship Jagnir. We do not know however, what aspect did Calista watched over. - Halfman explained. - It's a wondrous discovery this temple. The last few we found were just tiny shrines, with hidden caches in them. - He continue to ramble as the group made it deeper into the temple. The walls were intricately decorating, with murals depicting a pre-dominion elven society.
- This seems more than a temple- Domerth noted on observing some of these murals. Despite thousands of years passing, the whole complex seemed intact, including the murals. However, there were no mummified remains, skeletons, or other signs of former life present, at least for the time being.
- It probably was a refuge as well. - Halfman said, while walking. - For elves who haven't turned from Calista, and for those with mixed families. - The dominion saw elves as the master race, and saw mixing with orcs and humans as abomination.
The trek along the hallway ended by an entrance to a great hall. At the end of it, an altar stood, and behind it, statues depicting the gods of the Pantheon stood. All except one. A black granite obelisk stood in the place where Jagnir's statue should've been.
As the Expedition of the Brotherhood entered this site of worship, the hall lit up, it's long dormant braziers springing to life, and producing a light blue flame.
- Elven magics - Halfman observed. - Now recreated by Clan Amat of Vendigr. - He seemed excited a lot. Findings like these were of astronomical rarity. Whole, intact elven structures were long ago looted, and deconstructed for their masonry to be used in other projects of construction. Thus this discovery made Halfman as happy as a child on the morning of Gheola, a holiday celebrated at the end of the Month of Frostfall.
Halfman came closer to the altar. It was a curious piece of itself, a floating slab of pure white marble. On it, was a piece of blue velvet, several sapphire geodes and three seven branch candlesticks, from which the candles were burnt out long ago. The members of the group sheathed their weapons and began examining the hall itself.
It had seemed that the eyes of the central statue were following the Brotherhood's steps. Domerth took a closer look at the statue itself. Five years ago he didn't got a clear glimpse of the statuette at the hidden shrine along the road to Sapphire. The woman was depicted as wearing rather revealing clothing and had short hair, rather contrasting from the statues next to her, which were of Parkkun and Vellynn. The Statue of Parkkun was depicted as it was for ages - an old man with plain  robes, long hair and beard, wielding a gnarled staff and with a kantele hanging on a strap, placed on his shoulder. Same was true for Vellynn. His statue depicted him as a brawn young man wielding a spear, and accompanied by three birds- two ravens and an owl.
Other statues were similar to those images of the gods that the Church uses in their temples.
- It isn't a mere coincidence that Magnus found this - Domerth said. - It never is. - He expected to see a manifestation of Parkkun, or any other god at this point, since that's what they would usually do. Appear for a brief moment, to give out vague, cryptic directions, to aid the heroes in their quest. But nothing happened. A breezing chill began to flow into the hall. It wasn't dangerous, just gave a bit of discomfort to everyone present.
Domerth ordered to bring some candles from the supply wagons.
Once the items were brought, Domerth placed the candles on the candlesticks, and lit them, using his gnomish lighter. This gave new life to the temple. The members of the Brotherhood said a little prayer to the Pantheon, one that is taught to everyone by the Church. This was the most they could do, since nobody, even Halfman, knew how to perform a ritual dedicated to Calista.

After the little prayer was complete, the Expedition resumed the exploration of the temple. The complex was large indeed, and it confirmed  Halfman's theory about this being a refuge as well, since the Brotherhood discovered living quarters, as well as a well lit hall with plenty of plant beds. They also found stores of weapons and armor left behind by the inhabitants as well.
Domerth ordered these goods to be aquisitioned by the Brotherhood, lest they fall in the hands of the Cult.

As the Brotherhood secured the loot, Domerth and the others had returned to the main temple hall, where Halfman was busy making notes along with Nightshade. No one noticed that a a woman, identical to the central statue was present by the altar, before she spoke to Domerth.
- Your blade. - She gestured at Wyrm's Fury- It drank the blood of my children. - She said in a sorrowful voice. She revealed that she had a powerful aura of magic about her, with arcane energy crackling about her.
Domerth looked at her, not knowing what to do. There's nothing much to be done to a god after all. He was just glad that this temple isn't a site of an Oracle, because if the Goddess was angry, none of them would survive her fury.
- But I'm not here for that. Your ancestors did what they had to do. You revived my temple. - She continued. - Heed this. The eternal enemy is searching for my diadem. You must get it before they do. The elder has high faith in you, mortals - She said as she faded away.

After retrieving the stocked equipment Federigo returned to the temple with the others, he was busy observing the murals as he was particularly interested in understanding how the elves saw themselves. He decided to copy some of the inscriptions in his notes, so that he could then show them to Halfman and get a wider picture on the scenes depicted.

He wasn't expecting to see the elves in a peaceful scenario nor in a coexisting fashion with other races, a mural with a procession of foreign dignitaries piqued his interest the most, and he tried to get an idea of the races depicted... That is until he heard an unknown voice from the main hall.

"I should tone down on the experiments, I thought I heard a voice. I was hallucinating, right?", with these thoughts Federigo went towards the rest of the group.

We all saw or heard that. - Domerth said. - By now I suppose we'd be used to the gods appearing, but I guess some things are not meant to be.
Halfman and Nightshade seemed to be shuddering from the encounter. Never did they felt such a powerful magical aura, on anyone.
- Did She said search for her Diadem? - Halfman finally snapped out of the shudder.- If the Cult seeks it, it must be powerful in it's right. Let's fan out and see if we can find anything relating to it here, in this temple - He suggested.

Orryth nodded. - Right. I am on it. - He went off, taking Empellian and Dhulja with him. Almost as if books had a natural draw to him, his small group found themselves in the library.
- There might be information of it in these books here. Let's see what we can find. - Orryth commanded.
- Do we have to? There are more than us three can possibly read within a practical amount of time... - came Empellian's response.
- Yes. Grab a book and go. I'm sure others will find their way in here to help. - Orryth replied, having already started reading one.
Dhulja picked one up without complaint, while Empellian growl as he grabbed one. Orryth grinned at hearing the growl, but then refocused his attention upon what he was reading. Truthfully, he was also hoping to find information towards magics as well.

He got fixated on a mural presenting a procession of gifts from various races to the elves.

Since the vast majority of the books were written in Elvish, Orryth's group had a hard time picking out tomes that would seem relevant to the Relic in question. There were few tomes written in dwarven, orcish and human languages, but the vast majority was done in Elvish. After picking trough a majority of the books, Orryth's group found one most unusual looking tome - it's covers were made from metal, wrapped in leather, and the front cover bore a picture of the elven goddess plated with silver, witch was in turn was lined with platinum, and studded with several small blue gemstones, most likely sapphires.((kinda like the poshed out paintings you'd see at old churches, like this )) The Tome itself, eminated a faint magic aura from it, and it seem that the blue gemstones shined with starlight from within.

Frederigo spent quite some time looking at the murals as well. One in particular showed a scene from before the Dawn of the Golden Age, where the gods gifted their Relics to mortal kind. In a series of Murals, it showed Calista granting her diadem to an elven mage, who was clad in white from head to toe, including his hair and staff. The next mural showed the mage using magic to  erect a great city-citadel in a mountain valley, using the power of the diadem to influx his spellweaving.

Domerth sent out Wladyslaw and some sword-brethren to look for anything important regarding the relic in the living quarters of the Temple.

Federigo was reflecting on a particular scene, something to him wasn't right, among the gift bearers there was a particularly fair maiden, she seemed familiar yet different from any race he met. Once he got a better look of the next scenes he saw that other gift bearers were of an unknown race, the last element was when he realized that among the recipients there were also representatives of other races.

He started mumbling:
"These are the deities giving gifts to mortals, while the other mural is the other races giving gifts to the elves... It's as if the elves were seen as intermediaries to the divine, or at least, that's what the artist thought... That maiden resembles the fair figures of the elves, while being markedly different at the same time, so that ought to be... Well, I think I found who was the first to receive the diadem, but I don't recognize what he built... Considering it looks like a fortress it may as well be Topaz, but the size is much different"

Federigo quickly scrabbled his findings on his journal, while also giving an extemporaneous critique of the art style, he then got back to the main body to report on what he found, he wanted to ask if there were other great cities built by elves that laid in ruins and were generally less known that could fit with the one depicted in the mural.

Halfman browsed briefly through Frederigo's notes, and asked him to take him to the murals depicting the first mortal bearer of the diadem.
- This city... I believe these murals depict the creation of Venefica, the seat of the Conclave. The elven sorcerer was known as the White One. And look, besides him, is a dwarf elder, who wields what can only be the Malus of Alberich. - He pointed at the background of the mural, to the left of the pictured elven wizard. The Dwarf wielded an ornate hammer, much like the one that the Brotherhood, along with Brann Goldbeard found deep in the tundra steppes of the North, beyond Onyx.
- It is no surprise that the elves see themselves as the superiors to others, after all, according to the creation myth, the elves were the first mortals to walk this realm. - Halfman continued. - But this is  good find. It seems that the Diadem can empower one's spellcasting abilities, to the most. Erecting a city such as Venefica, even with th aid of the Malus, would be intensive on the spelweavers present. And yet, the mural only depicts one mage. Remarkable. You've seen what the Malus is capable, we can only wonder what a mage could do when wearing the Diadem. - Halfman stood in silence for a moment, trying to contemplate such feats.

Wladyslaw's party returned by the time, with a well preserved elvish map. The map showed the southern part of the land, the modern Emerdina and Bonswada. The map itself was made of parchment, which, as Halfman speculated, was enchanted to protect it from time and elements. All of the landmarks on the map, as expected were written down in elvish. Those that Halfman identified on now, were Zeshett, Ysmarkand, and Anbuktu. There was one other spot on the map, with "Oracle" marked next to it.
This was a remarkable find, if it was true. The Oracles were mystical places, where the Gods had their full power outside of the Grand Heavens.

The search for anything relevant to the relic was interrupted by a couple of Sword-Brethren, who escorted a dwarf in a rugged outfit, with a huge resemblance to Magnus.
- My lord - The Sword-Brethren addressed Domerth. - We had encountered a party of dwarves, this being their leader. He claims to be Brann Goldbeard, brother of Magnus.
- At ease men. This is indeed Brann Goldbeard of the Iron Clan. - Domerth said after looking briefly at the hilt of Wyrm's Fury, as Magnus rushed past him to greet his younger brother.
- Why is it, everytime I set off for an expedittion I encounter you lads? - Brann asked.
- It's the will of the Gods - Domerth replied. - How'd you got here?
- The Great Roads Beneath, that's how - The dwarf said proudly. All of the Dwarven holds were interconnected via underground passageways. - That was the easy part, as this blasted land has voidspawn running willy sodding nilly through it. We were bloody relieved to see you lads in here, but you had beat us to this here temple. We've only recently found out about it, from a Cult's missive we've intercepted a few weeks back.
- And it seems we've beat the Cult as well - Domerth said with a slight relief. He knew that an attack was imminent now, maybe sooner than later.

- Some kind of enchantment, maybe? Not one I am familiar with, if it is. I am going to go check with Halfman on this. You stay and continue searching, just in case there is something else.
Orryth went off looking for Halfman, which didn't take long at all. He stopped up beside Haldman as the new-come dwarves were talking.
- This book was found in the library, and it seems to be enchanted. - Orryth brought the book forth.

Halfman's expression upon seeing that tome was both of joy and excitement.
- This is remarkable. Never did I dream that we would find anything like this - He said while inspecting it. - What you had found here is the most treasured artefact of the pre-Dominion elves. I've seen one being guarded in the Grandmaster's quarters in Zanaris, but it had much more wear and tear to it. You have found one of the few remaining copies of the White One's Manuscript. It supposedly greatly details what does the Diadem do, the nature of the arcane, as well as some of the most powerful incantations that White One had learned whilst being the wearer of the Diadem.

- Good call - Halfman said. - Things like this best left to us. I along with Nightshade shall examine it later on.

With all the loot secured, the group had exited the temple, and once again sealed it's entrance, this time with some of the Brotherhoods magi who were adept at controlling the element of earth would hide the entrance behind several large boulders.
Brann's expedition was no less than fifty dwarves from the Iron Clan. There were several Ironbreakers, but the majority seemed to be the dwarf pathfinders, armed with multibarreled wheellock volley guns as their main weapon, a gnomish invention no doubt, as well as other exotic looking firearms.

As soon as everything was secured, the march was resumed, with Brann's expedition joining with the Brotherhood. On the evening, once the camp was set up, Domerth began writing an entry in his journal.

"Sixteenth of the Month of Timber, Forty-Seventh year in the Second Age of Heroes

We had uncovered a hidden temple complex to the goddess Calista. The hidden shrine on the route to Sapphire pales in the comparison. It was a wonderous sight to behold, on what the elven culture was like for those who had rejected their kin of the Dominion. We had found, what Halfman tells, the greatest Elven Artfact, a book, or a copy of a book that was written by an elven sorcerer called the White One. Supposedly, It holds insight on the mastery of the arcane, beyond anything the Conclave has seen.
As it become a sort of custom over these few decades of the most recent history of our Company, the gods themselves seek to aid, or at least, steer us into the right direction. The Goddess Calista had appeared before us, telling for us to search for her Diadem, which she had gifted to mortal kind eons ago, for the Cult seeks it as well, one can guess safely that they intend to use it in the endeavour to free their dark god from his prison.
We've also had a run in with Magnus's younger brother, Brann, and his expedition. The dwarves had too been seeking the Diadem as well, solely for the thrill of seeking it I assume, rather than to use it for malicious purposes. One can only hope that we will find this artefact first, and use it's power against the cult, hopefully to wipe it out once and for all.

I had this feeling for the past week, after the battle. The feeling that part of my Father's being is still with me, watching me over. Maybe it's the sword he passed down to me, maybe it's something else.
What wouldn't I give to get his counsel one last time.

Domerth put the quill on the table, and went outside to smoke his pipe. He had set up extra guards in the camp, just in case if an attack would take place.

The next day, the march was resumed.
The Brotherhood manage to cover quite a bit of road, before they've encountered a large band of voidspawn coming their way. There were several void gargants in the band, along with some other foul creatures. The band was lead by what seemed to be a powerful bound Void-spirit, who had mutated it's host body heavily, nearly beyond any recognition. The band included goatmen, as well as other beasts in service of the cult. There were no cultists themselves in this band.
Domerth signalled for the troops to be ready, as he drawn Wyrm's fury, which's gems were glowing very brightly.
The voidspawn army began their charge at the Brotherhood, sending out their goatmen first, followed by the void gargants. The Brotherhood's Sword-Brethren formed a line of pikes to repell the incoming charge, while the sorcerers prepared some spells to repell the advancing gargants, who, if not stopped could wreak a lot of havoc amongst the lines of the Brotherhood.

Federigo saw the leader of the void-spawn warband and was utterly shocked at the sight of the monstrosity that was approaching. The lack of any cultist made him persuaded that the mutated void-spawn had some kind of intelligence, unlike his more feral kin. He decided to stand in the back of the line, waiting for the goatmen charge to subside and to either assist in killing the far more dangerous gargants or finding an opening to kill off the leader of the group.

The goatmen horde was impaled upon the pikes of the Brotherhood. and while the vast majority was slain this way, some still managed to get through, and close quarter combat ensued. One of the void gargants were blinded, as it's eye got struck by a bolt of arcane lightning. Infuriated, the voidspawn began attacking things at random, even hitting other gargants with his mace, in which after the beast was slain by his own kin.
With this confusion created amongst the enemy ranks, Domerth seen an opportunity to counterattack. He slew one of the Khazrgor charging at him, and moved forward, with both his swords drawn. He saw that a fire wortex engulfed another gargant, which was the doing of Serta and her Fire Spirit. Her Elemental seemed to be particulary sadistic in nature, as the being seemed to be laughing as it hurled tongues of liquid looking flame from it's fists. It was larger than during the battle for Kree, being now well over three meters tall.
Most of the Khazrgor were slain by now, and the Gargants were turned on one another.
As the Brotherhood advanced, the Void Lord sent out his elite troops, to deal with the advancing Brotherhood. The same type of voidspawn were present during the Second Siege of Diamond, and they were called "Void Fiends" by the Samann. They were not void spirit vessels, rather a race of flesh and blood inhabiting the dark, tenebrous realm that is the void. And these beings put up more of a fight than the goatmen tribes swayed under the wings of the cult.
Th men of the Brotherhood clashed with the Void Fiends, who wielded not only spears, but other weapons as well.
Domerth found himself clashing with one of their seargeants or other higher ranking voidspawn. Magnus and Wladyslaw were fighting a single oponent as well. Halfman and Nightshade were engaged in combat too, with Halfman using his blood magic that he learned decades ago to control one Void Fiend and use it against others.

The initial wave didn't phase Federigo that much, he didn't plan on engaging the goatmen directly, but he was forced into a melee with one of them, he consoled himself by putting a corpse aside to take the head later. He almost got in a scuffle with a gargant, in a brief exchange he got hit on the shoulder, the blow didn't come at full force as the gargant was getting attacked by one of his kind, but it was enough to make Federigo scream.

He felt his left shoulder a bit sore, not wanting to retreat he ignored the pain and marched on until the void fiends engaged the Brotherhood, at that point he knew that the stakes were getting too high for him, before he could do anything he was attacked by a void fiend armed with a  battle axe, barely managing to avoid the blow he commanded two sword brethren to assist him, he rapidly devised a plan in the hopes of getting the beast attacked on its blindspots so that it could be felled.

The battle continued, and slowly, the Brotherhood gained the upper hand. The Void Fiends although put up a fierce fight, began to fall one by one, succumbing to their wounds one by one.

The Gargants nearly killed off each other by this point, and after one was knocked own, Frederigo saw an opportunity for the kill, as the gargant that knocked the other one down was attacked by Serta's fire elemental, which wielded his axe in one of his hands.

Domerth saw Magnus fighting the serpentine creatures that served the Cult. He seemed to harbor a particular hatred for these creatures, evident as the dwarf swung his warhammer furiously at them.
The Void Lord observing the battle seemed to be nervous. He began to cast a spell, but as the spell neared it's completion, it was interrupted by Nightshade's counterspell. The Void lord cursed in the voidspawn tongue, as it conjured a weapon of his own, transforming one of it's hands into an organic blade of sorts. With it, the Void Lord proceeded to attack Nightshade. Neither Domerth nor Magnus could aid her, since they too were locked in combat with their own adversaries.
