People come up with their own definitions as a way of affirming their own viewpoint.  In the end it all boils down to "needs" and one of the main "needs" is the feeling of safety; having an established viewpoint allows you to whip out an answer at any moment of need which further lets your brain say "Alright, I know this, we're safe" instead of embracing this cognitive "danger" and giving the problem a thought.

Noooooby, it's all about tolerance for data, some people have no idea why they actually say or do things, nor do they want to know even if they do nonchalantly ponder from time to time. These people simply have low tolerance for depth, they want options A and B and possibly a cheeky C that's simple and fits into a small travel bag.

It's all fine and all analysing people and then debating how well they're programmed, but don;t tell the zombos to their face. That's like grabbing a guy of the street and ramming the red pills up his arse, he's not going to suddenly wake up, he's going to see you as a threat to his gilded (or even rusty) prison where he is reduced to nothing but a zombie, and perhaps, just perhaps he might've liked it and wants more, but details smetails. You can't remove the chains for them, one day they might snap out of it, or perhaps not.

That or yer just lording your apparent superiority over them.

Isn't also assuming an unverifiable mental and emotional situation of your interlocutor, on which you can dismiss his statements as based on emotional insecurities, a form of self-defense mechanism for defending yourself and discrediting those whose statements you perceive as personal attacks or as potentially damaging acts of your image in the eyes of 3rd party observers to the discussion, thus ultimately creating a safe space for yourself and protecting your own self-esteem?

This logic is akin to "All homophobes are closeted gays", which is after all, a fallacy.

Booooo, I already read that, I want something else!

How do you plan on keeping a crowd entertained by repeating an old punchline?

It's like me saying: -Pineapple on pizza is akin to holding a cross upside down while you're stabbing an infant on an altar made of black marble from the caves of a remote mountain in the Atlas range while intonating an old Aramaic chant that was once used by the worshippers of Baal, all the while dancing a distorted macarena with your legs upside down-

It gets stale after a while.

I mean, Ba'al is supposed to be Ba'al zebhub, offending him could be considered attacking him. Considering he's a FOUL DAEMON it's fair game to me.
