Plato was a crazy politician who had to make up a whole world of Ideas in order to justify his republic. Plus, we can't even tell whether half of his philosophy is his own because he was prone to "borrowing" ideas from his predecessors.
Thomas bent his knee to the church, so as with any other theologian of the middle ages, he can't even be considered a philosopher.
Kant couldn't write even one well structured sentence to save his life. He had good intentions, but his inability to get his thought across well enough has left room for German Idealism to spawn, and even that wouldn't have to be so bad if it wasn't for the ultimate egomaniac, the one and only Hegel.
Nietzsche was a chad who gave 0 ****s and actually had an original take on philosophy for a change even though he drew inspiration from German Idealism. His writing is engaging and his statements bold even after all this time. Bless you, Papa Mustache, or should I say Papa Mustatzsche.

If we are to believe Plato's presentation of Socrates' character in his dialogues, then we can find a certain group of characteristics that are very much sophist-esque in Socrates' dialogies, chiefly his tendency to run circles around his interlocutors; he'd often exploit their lack of knowledge to push his own agenda without them even realizing it. Just read Plato's "Ion" and you'll see what I mean.

It is! I remember first leaning of Socrates in History class when I was a kid. I thought he was an awesome dude. It wasn't until I started studying Philosophy that I began uncovering these finer details about these people we learn about. It wasn't really mindblowing, per se, but I was surprised nonetheless.
