Good Allied maps?

Hi! Me and my partner are currently playing a lot of HoMM 3, HotA and the other expansions. But we prefer when we're allied and play against the computers. We're running out of maps and I'm having troubles finding good maps for us to try. We like exploring the bigger maps, anyone have any good suggestions for maps? The bigger the better tbh

Thanks!

Have you tried random generated maps? Hota rmg is quite good.

You can find a lot of templates for generate random maps in the installed hota folder. But you also can try templates created by the community. Here you can find the ones I have created myself, some are valid for allied maps:

Monstrous Island

4 human/computer vs 2 computer vs 1 computer. A raw fight! But impossible level so you need more friends. Maybe Not one talk to you, if you win the game without friends.

H4 can have collaborative multiplayer campaigns, in the next version of my mod one may be present.

Look http://heroescommunity.com/viewthread.php3?TID=45315 for theory.

+1 for rmg maps

I would go ahead and make my own template, this way you can customize what you like best. Friend and I dislike creature bank "meta" so I nerfed creature bank spawn rate to 1/5 for example.

Its really easy and intuitive with HotA Editor, they did extremly good job.

Play 2v6 vs AI and give them whatever bonuses you think is right to make for a decent challenge. (more castles for AI , ban bad secondaries so AI does not pick them, ban mills/mystical garden in AI starting zone or near so they do not constantly run around grabbing stuff with their limited hero pool ;buffing towngate spawnrate also helps them a lot).

The bigger the map the easier vs AI tho.

Also for a challenge never play on anything less than impossible vs AI, they get smaller hero pool on expert+less resource bonus. I'd rather go in map editor for 1 min and add the resources from expert via script.

There's easy, but advanced in terms of spell mechanics map called "Crimson and Clover". In the end of the 1st post there will be a link to download the map and mods needed. Strongly advise that, especially if you like magic, and if anything during installation goes wrong (I recall that I had to install 1 mod I didnt know about, but can't recall the name), just ask the author, he responses quickly.

I like the Reclamation map, which is North America, and I made some maps, for example a game of thrones map, that I uploaded yesterday on this page:  http://www.maps4heroes.com/forum/opinions.php?map_id=1526&game=3

This is my comment from r/heroes3 on reddit.

"Edit: You can set alliances directly from the editor itself!

Site: Maps4Heroes

Total War > Cool huge late-game map, with dragon dwellings, 8 players, everything. A little though at the beginning. 8 Players.

Rise of the Phoenix > Not the best map for advanced, but cool, mostly because it was the first time and first map I played HoMM3 (I chose Tower; still my fav, but costy). 4 Players.

Strait of Storms - Invasion > Medium, pretty short map, lacking mines, but you develop fast and it looks nice; good for a map to be played and finished the same day. 4 Players.

Fountain of Doom > Challenging, hard, but nicely made; you need to do a lot of thinking, so it's not really a map to be played when you want to just relax. 3 Players.

Island King > Good, compact map, where you might/will encounter the enemy early on, but not at all after that; however, the enemy will reach you a while after you develop your town. A good map, where you want to have a hero to protect the town and one to clear the map. It's also not too short, even tho it's small. 7 Players; recommended to not choose Teal as human.

The Devil Is in the Detail (Allied) > Amazing, huge map (max size > G), where you can accumulate tremendous amounts of creatures, resources, etc. It's beautiful, but won't be finished in several days It also has Azures and stuff to recruit. 8 Players; Ally only 3 by 3, or 2 by 2, and never make Teal/Pink human.

Dwarven Tunnels > Medium, fast paced map, full of castles. You can easily encounter the enemy, but if you've got the upper hand (good heroes, etc.) you can always win the map. 4 Players.

Daggerwin Valley > Complicated big map. Big armies, etc. 5 Players.

World Day > Giant map (G size). If you know geography well, you're in luck 8 Players.

Might add more maps.

Edit: You can set alliances directly from the editor itself!"
