Hello any news about Heretic faction ? Also are u planing to add maybe Forge to the game ? In prima aprilis You showed some screen of Forge and suits well to the game

Quite possibly so. We will try to investigate. HD Mod has this dialogue somewhat different.

Nothing particular at the current moment. The guaranteed updates coming in the next version are campaigns (classic ones) and various gameplay tweaks, including RMG.

Hey there folks

Seems like i can't find my previous post, maybe i simply didn't post it or it was deleted? Whatever.

I just want to say that i got the mod running under Linux with Wine. It works pretty well, but it only works properly (decent performances) while using the 32 Bit True graphic mode, which causes font issues.

It's very unfortunate because the Graphic Mode 0 for 16 bit produces garbage amd the 32 bit GDI makes the game run very slow.

So yea

I would like to politely ask the dev for next patch to address this issue

That is all.

Incredible game all in all i played with the bad fonts until it crashed about 9 turns in when i tried to siege a castle lol but i really do love how all the new units and the music is loyal to the source material. It's really good.

Actually the lightning strike issue appear only when I have Sorcery. It only displays the additionnal damage from the skill.

There is also some alpha version exists, containing numerous units that didnt make their way to beta. I found a link in deviant art site somewhere.

I'm almost done with the content in HotA and i'm thinking of coming back to this mod but unfortunately i have to put the project on ice until the font issue is resolved.

I'd really like to give it a go so i'll stay tuned for a new release.

I'm new to modding so I might have missed something completely obvious, but it's not installing properly over my freshly-installed H3 Complete. It's telling me that some files cannot be created and that I should close everything, restart windows, and try again. I tried that and the same thing happened. Do I need something else installed over H3 first?

I guess ERA II.

Edit: Wait, you don't. I think it's included in the installation.

Quarantine boredom makes me want the full release with Heretic faction as soon as possible...

Can you at least reveal the current plans for the lineup and the unique features of that faction? You confirmed said it might be very different from H3 Inferno right?

EDIT:

I'd also like to point some suggestions for the future versions for you to consider:
* Efreet upgrade for Genie (Dervish town)

* Proper graphics for Witch buildings - currently they look like their h3 counterparts: i.e. cocoons and thickets look like gorgon and basilisk buildings.

* Possible inferno lineup:
1) Imp (no upgrade)

2) Bloodsucker -> Brainsucker -> Soulsucker

3) Gog (no upgrade) - looks actually like magog / MM8 Gog.

4) Hell Hound (1 head) -> Orthrus (2 Heads) -> Cerberus (3 heads plus armor on heads)

5) Succubus -> Lilim - Melee attack only, with a chance to "hypnotize" (seduce). Basic succubus is wingless and looks like M&M 2 one from here. Upgraded one has wings and flaming hair.

6) Breeder - like Heroes VI one but less lava / more organic.

7) Kreegan Spawn -> Kreegan Warrior -> Kreegan Lord

Kreegan Warrior looks like orzie's pic. Spawn has less spikes/horns and brown skin. Lord has dark crimson skin and wings (like MM6)

Special thing about Heretic town: Upgrades play differently. Basically, the Breeder dwelling (that looks somehow like Colony Zod) is VERY expensive and it enables the upgrading of Bloodsuckers into Brainsuckers, Hellhounds in Orthrus, Succubus in Lilim and Kreegan Spawns into Kreegan Warriors. The third upgrades (into Soulsucker, Cerberus and Lords) are related to the Basic -> Advanced -> Expert Demonology (or occultism): A Heretic unique skill and can be upgraded in-army like Sharpshooters or Enchanters from Campaign heroes.

How did I get this idea? Because H2 has 3 upgrades for dragons and that's a pretty unique thing for Dungeon as well as it treats the concept of upgrade very differently from other towns. I thought it'd be cool to have a town which is distinct from others because some unique upgrade system.

It should be. The point is that H2 Knight is not equal to H3 Castle, and so on. The entire principles by which the factions are designed in classic games differ.

The latest discussion on the lineup was a while ago, but this faction is not currently in development because we have a lot of things higher in priority.

We thought more about the Master Genie instead. Efreet is, anyway, presented as a counterpart of genie rather than its developed form in Heroes 3, and this is a strong psychological influence for the players.

I wouldn't like sound as an arrogant prick, but OH REALLY?
Creating townscreens is one of the hardest and complex tasks in Heroes modding, and if we could make the Witch easily, we'd do it.
It still amuses me how people keep displaying their lack of faith in our creative abilities even though we presented the Dervish castle as a demonstration what could be done at the very least.

In short words: it's all the matter of time. The mod is just v0.8. The fact that it looks like almost a complete game is a conscious choice so that people could have the fun earlier. The Witch castle remains unchanged from the previous builds because we did not have reached it yet.

I'm afraid these names don't quite correspond to popular concepts from fairy tales, mythology and classic fantasy, and thus are of the lesser priority for inclusion to a H2-themed mod. At all times, we must keep it simple. MM6 creatures are already a painful exception, and the atmosphere is always in danger because of that.

In short: if you can't have a creature exterior idea just looking at the names like "orthrus" or "lilim", these creature concepts are too less known and too complex for a Heroes 2 game.

Such upgrading abilities belong to campaigns and campaigns only. This is because they are difficult to control balance-wise.

H3SW is already having its faction gameplay much different that in H3, more diverse, asymmetrical and harder to balance. Yet, we don't have more than a half of features implemented by the current time.

currently, you can easily apply any ERM scripts to H3SW.
some Mods for H3SW

I remember Orzie saying something like this might change in the upcoming versions, but let's see what he says.

Try to go into
Mods -> The Succession Wars 0.8.1 -> _HD3_Data -> Settings -> era.ini

and change the version number in the first line to the same one that is found in
root Heroes folder -> _HD3_Data -> Settings -> era.ini

I think because HD Launcher doesn't find the version number it expects to find in the mod's era.ini file, it completely ignores all the settings in it altogether.

We have small problem.  Building a shipyard is only work for random town. (If  selected town put near the water can't built shipyard.)

Suggestion:If possible, can you add wall scene for garrison objects? ^^
