We Mediterraneans thrive under dictators and militaristic governments, we are peoples completely incapable of self governance and turn to self-destruction and hedonism once we are given freedom of vote... If we vote in the first place, we prefer beach holidays to voting. Why do you think we became one of the largest economies in Europe? It wasn't our doing, it was the Americans that pumped up our money reserves, and that's why we are in crisis now. We just are not capitalists, amd neither are we egalitarians, and of course not bloody commies.

The Mediterranean thrived under the guiding light of Rome and her armies, Spain became the first global empire under their monarchs, Sicily was the lighthouse of Europe under the Normans and Schwabians.

Mussolini was lied to by just about everybody, at the cost of political freedom we could have trampled the world, but the seed of betrayal was already planted in the twenties.

Blizzardsoyboy is too weak and useless to live in any authoritarian or totalitarian regime.

After all, his soy brain tells him that Trump is literally Hitler.

Yay, I dropped my spaghetti at the terminal velocity of a bloody comet.

What are the odds she didn't leave earlier, well she didn't and probably overheard me celebrating my newfound confidence.
Gentlemen, your shounen protagonist failed you, big time.
Recovering from this is gooooooonna be hard.

F it, I'll own this and show her my balls of steel, because you know, at this point that's the only thing I can do.

Guys, don't watch any kind of romantic anime, they turn real pretty fast and then turn ugly.

Btw, this is actually a win-win situation. Consider the following:
She heard it and is interested, she'll allow me to get closer faster and it's gonna be easier, which is the most improbable situation.
She heard it, but she doesn't want me, so I'll know it so fast it's gonna hurt a bit, but hey, I'm not gonna waste more time trying to scale a wall, so while I don't gain anything, I won't lose anything either, so that's a sadder win, but still a win.
She didn't hear a thing, well, it's self explanatory, nothing changed and I can carry on as usual, which may either result in a win or a loss.

All I'm trying to say is... My spaghetti may have fallen, but I can still cook another batch.

Yes, like that part when Neraus put the spaghetti in the cooking pot.  We don't even know what sauce he used.  What is this even?

Do you need a reason to cook spaghetti? Is this even a question? Cooking spaghetti is something you do while shuffling about your day, almost every hour, for your snack, for lunch or dinner, for yourself, a friend, your family or that special someone, spaghetti are meant to accompany you in life, it is not simply food, it's a state of being.

And you've discovered the reason why I haven't made major moves on anybody, they don't deserve my time, my time is better spent cooking spaghetti.

@Noob
There is no need to say when I put my spaghetti in the cooking pot, they are always there, every plate made implies more spaghetti in a cooking pot, so I don't need to say it.
And of course it's tomato sauce, actual sauce, made in Sicily with the best tomatoes of the island, a leaf of basil, and a cup of parmigiano for those who wish to put it.

I feel like I am going to start a WWIII when I say this but, lasagna is often hit and miss with me. Depends on who's cooking it, what kind, and if I actually like the person cooking it. Usually tho, I'll pass on lasagna.

Dang. I didn't even realize that S. Europe, too, was also all our fault.

We are so garsh darn busy turning the various utopias of the world into hellholes. It's a full-time job.

I want to apologize in advance on behalf of America for the Triangle Slave Trade, Colonialism, the Napoleonic War, WW1, WW2, the Holocaust and Eurovision. These were all American plots designed to make people miserable. We are very naughty.

This is very disturbing actually.  I am only now able to see how brainwashed the people of USA really are.  If you think that you are shipping off your soldiers into countries led by dictators for your own safety, then you really have a problem.  You are turning every place you visit into a hellhole.  They weren't utopias, but they were surely better off without your interference.
No amount of sarcasm will help you clear the stain you made.

Thank you for your service.

Funnily enough I wasn't talking about the ousting of good ol'Benny, the only thing that the Americans did by then was simply invading our land and scaring the king enough to remove him from the government, but we were the ones that actually ousted him and regrettably summarily executed him without due process (it wasn't an execution, it was a murder, it was a bad precedent for a country that was supposed to enter the fold of liberal democracies).

Anyway, I was more referring to the thing that Italians (and Sicilians especially) are pretty bad when left to their own devices and will tend towards autocracy given time and choice, and by pumping us with cash this bad habit hasn't gone away, it actually worsened since we created an absurd amount of bureaucracy and created an unstable and sometimes wierd welfare state. We got used to not caring about debt, and we inflated our currency at a whim to fund social programs, that qere actually proxies for the politicians purses. The money of the Marshall plan may have sped up the rebuilding but it didn't fix the mentality of the people.
Hence why I say, it wasn't our doing if we became a strong economy, it was American money that made us that way, once that money stopped flowing we became the indebted country you know today.
And despite that we still want to push more social programs.

Basically, what I was trying to say, we are autocratic and partially socialist as a people, democracy isn't really a model we know how to use effectively.

By the way, if I have to blame anyone I also blame the Soviet Union, since if we turned this way it was also because the US and SU had their little contest in Europe.
But more than anybody I blame the French, if not for them we wouldn't have even entered WWI probably, or better, we'd have been unified either through the Habsburgs or the Bourbons. Or going further back, there wouldn't have been Bourbons in the first place and the Austrian realm would have saved the Mediterranean. Or back further it would have allowed the Imperial forces to contain the Ottoman expansion, or even better Sicily would have stayed capital of the HRE and you'd have to deal with the united might of Italy and Germany, united in purpose by Sicilians to dominate Europe and the world.
Actually, maybe Constantinople wouldn't have fell either.
And probably we'd have actually restored the Western Roman Empire, who knows, maybe we'd have united with the East.

See, Americans are but a speck of dust, they just did some damage now, the true fiends are the baguettes.
