I'm pretty sure the hair represents the feminist agenda as well. Like everything else about her But it doesn't fit the actress completely. Makes her looks a stereotypical "butch lesbian" trope.

It's a shame that their strongest superhero is basically catering to SJWs and seriously lacks personality, backstory (oh there was a random explosion and boom, she's da best) and has an annoying attitude (she is literally pissing me off with every words she says).

BTW, don't you think that Gamora/Nebula's story was lame in the end? Gamora says they (the sisters) can stop him (Thanos) but they do jack ****, pretty much.

Would have been better if they were more instrumental in his defeat. In the comics, it was Nebula that got his gauntlet. It was a very different affair and I'm glad that they changed Thanos' quest to get the stones along with his original motivation. Which was.. To get into lady Death's pants I've read civil war, ragnarok and infinity war and there is very little resemblance with their mcu counterparts, for better or worse.

The producers/directors know this as well. Thanos was intentionally chosen because he is a personal character the audiences can see. Galactus doesn't have this because he's a giant cosmic being, so if he's in future movies I doubt he will be a central character. He'll probably be treated more like Dormammu or whatever that giant black/purple entity was in Dr Weird.

Understandable since the first half an hour is boring and full of corny jokes.

But it gets better when they start beating each other up. You may as well skip some talking and jump into the action.

Oh yiss, I can finally join in on the fun!

The movie was epic! They really pulled it off both as movie and as a finale. I must say that it was a little boring in the first half (too many touchy blah blah moments), but the situation demanded it somewhat. But like others said, the final battle and some cool references ("Hail Hydra" -> Secret Empire for instance) makes up for it.

They've packed a lot of stuff in, but still managed to make sense of it and add a few twists: it was not "changing the past", but borrowing from the past, a nice play-around on a popular motive. They managed to avoid time-travel plot holes (at least in the broader scale). They've packed probably all characters, gave them some screen time and it even made sense story-wise! The whole "past events with a different view" was very cool, now I know what people meant when they said the movie was a celebration of what came before it (there even was this kid from Iron Man 3 who helped him in a dark moment).

And ofc the movie had one of the most epic battles in cinema history and they didn't screw it up! I will rewatch this s*it a lot more times and maybe I'll even buy a movie on blu-ray, after so many years.

PS: Also, lets take a moment of applause for the biggest Hero of them all...

EDIT: Also, regarding Captain Marvels OP-ness. Imo, Thanos was still a good match-up for her in one on one. The thing with the ship was maybe a bit overboard, but it seems her power is more useful when she works as a comet, rather then in melee battles. I wonder how they will proceed with her character, but guess they'll use "gonna help other planets" plot device.

Everyone seems to hate the first part of the movie. Am I the only one who actually enjoyed the stuff before Antman met up with the remaining Avengers? It took me by surprise and felt really genuine and harsh, seeing what everyone was up to when they felt they failed completely. Part of me likes it better than the rest of the movie, because after they start preparing for the "Time Heist" it mostly reverts to a huge tribute fiesta while storytelling and characters take the back seat (except for a few key moments, of course).

Wtf? I didn't say I didn't enjoy it. I only said it was boring at times cus there were too many "touchy" moments: dialogues of Avangers contemplating their defeat were a bit too long. But like I said it was needed to set the mood.

Btw, the more I read about it the more Captain America ending becomes a plothole. I thought it worked like this: Banner (I don't remember exactly who) says sth like "it (returning the stones) will take 5 seconds for us but as long as he wants for Cap'n". I initially thought he lived his life in the parrarel timeline (from 30's), and only went back when he was old and "lived his life to the fullest", wanting to pass his matle to Falcon. Seems it's not the case (he gets old in teh same timeline?) as even the scriptwriters aren't exactly sure themselves.

From what I heard, someone on the staff (director or one of the writers) confirmed that it is indeed the case. He went back to after the war, lived with Carter and then came back to pass on the shield.
That is also the only way it makes any kind of sense.

I agree, but some other guy from the stuff said something different because supposedly they wanted to leave a gate open for an eventual "Captain America travels through times" series, in which he would go back to his own time not via the machine but some other way. Kinda like "we don't know how, but he found and alternative way etc".

Point is, they should've handled this differently. The whole "alternative timelines" thing simply makes less sense with the ending being made the way it was.

Btw, regarding Captain Marvel. I dislike how they make her this very cheeky lady. My complaint is not related to her as a person, but as a character. I know she's powerful and all, but they make her look very arrogant, even more then in her own movie, whereas she did have a lot doubts before. Why the sudden change (the unleash power/coming out event in Captain Marvel movie)? But I must say she was handled correctly in the movie (I didn't get the feel like she was a game changer, but maybe that's me), and that scene when Thanos ship cannons suddenly moved and started to shoot in the other direction was really epic.

Is her character really that different from Ironman in this regard? She knows she's better than most, if not all and acts accordingly.

Yes it is. Tony Stark aka Iron Man is a more complicated character because he has a few movies that depicted his transformation (even if there were some discrepancies at times) from a an arrogant arms dealer/millionaire (and drunkard) to an arrogant icon (that had a breakdown a few times, for example Iron Man 3), later to become someone who wants to protect the earth/imposes his views at the cost of even relations with his friends (Civil War) and ultimately a man who sacrificed his own happiness and himself. He was arrogant as a millionaire and genius can be, but he showed his human side at more then one occasions. They do not even compare (yet).

On a personal level, I also think there is also a great gap between their acting abilities. Also, after reading comics it's impossible for me to even imagine someone who would better fit the role as much as Robert D Jr has been with this character, because he even has some similarities in rl . Captain Marvel could've been played by anyone, even a black male.

I'll rephrase myself then, is her character really that different from Ironman in his beginning? Before he had a gazillion movies to really flesh him out. Or Thor in the first Avengers who pretty much looked down on everyone for most of the movie?

I completely agree, which is why I specifically used the word "character". Although, if you really read the comics or even seen the old Ironman cartoon show which was a lot gentler, you know that Tony Stark is a HUGE snowhole who cares about other people, but not about what they think or how they feel.

Basically, I'm saying that I feel that the backstage drama sipped into the movie too much and it's hard to make the distinction. Plus the first Avengers cast set up a really high bar that was developed for a whole decade and everything that comes after will pale in comparison. At least in the beginning.

Yeah, but there's something about her that makes it that much more apparent.

My guess is, her heinous lesbian haircut? Wtf was that about? The feminazi symbolism in this movie detracted from my enjoyment of it. It's a good thing everything else was top-notch, or i would have flushed this one into the toilet alongside Black Panther.

It might sound one-sided, but I think Danvers was made that way, because-you-know what agenda. But sounds to me someone mistaked being self-confident with being an ass. Although the "feminazi" haircut is a reference to one of the comics so there's no deeper meaning under it aside from a nod to fans (I hope).

I like her haircut.

If there are two characters that overlap too much, it would be Ironman and Dr Strange. Except Ironman is sassy and Dr Strange is snappy, but they're pretty much the same.
