Now that the group phase has concluded, I guess I'm not a big fan of this format with third-placed teams going through, makes the groups feel less exciting, just to get an extra round of knockout games. In my opinion there was nothing wrong with having 16 teams and 4 groups in the old format. Oh, well.
The Hungarian team was pretty impressive in the "group of death" even though they didn't make it, they were a match to France and Germany and were very close to winning. As they say, this team has won our hearts.
I'm rooting for the Italians and the Dutch to get far, so Italy vs Austria and Netherlands vs Czech Republic will be on top of my watch list. I think Italy have been the best team so far, although some say that the group phase can be misleading.
Then there's Croatia vs Spain, the two teams were somewhat underwhelming in the first two rounds but pulled through with clear wins in the last one. This is one of those matches where I'd like to see both teams going through and I'll enjoy the show to see which one comes out on top.
I'll also be interested in Belgium vs Portugal. On one hand there's a team that has had a great generation and some may say that they have underachieved if they don't win a trophy. On the other hand there's the team that surprisingly won the last edition. There are also players like De Bruyne and C. Ronaldo to watch.
I'm not all that excited for Wales vs Denmark, Ukraine vs Sweden, England vs Germany and France vs Switzerland, but if there's nothing better to do, I'll tune in. Or watch the highlights at least.

You should definitely watch Denmark's game, they are pretty good and play some very enjoyable football.
I'm rooting for Italy this time around. I've always liked Squadra, but now that they are playing so offensively I like them even more.

Croatia - Spain is spectacular. 3-5 current score. Bot after penalties, but in half time of extra time.
And who'd have thought that France - Switzerland might even top that game.

Yea, it was an awesome day to be a football fan.
I really didn't see the Swiss team as strong enough but I was proven wrong. Congratulations to them.
So instead of a rematch of the world cup final (France - Croatia) that some were anticipating, we'll have Spain vs Switzerland. I think it's going to be interesting in its own right.
Portugal are out although I thought they deserved more out of that game against Belgium by the way it was played, and sadly for me the Netherlands are out too after a poor performance against the Czechs.
Croatia went down after that great match with Spain, a pretty nice way of bowing out for Modric.
I'm looking forward to the next games, especially Italy taking on Belgium.
Count, you were right about Denmark. I wonder how far they can keep going. I'm surely gonna watch the game against the Czechs.

To think that Poland eliminated Switzerland in 1/16 via penalties in Euro 2016  History is funny. To think that this time we fell out in such a lousy style (only Lewandowski holding his own, but it was not enough), while Switzerland goes forward.
Yeah, France was arrogant although at one point it all was looking like my bet, 1:2 for France, will happen. Wonder what of Mbappe who I hear was a strong candidate for Football player of the year.
PS: And yeah, Czech victory was a shocker, but guess this happens when you have a team that doesn't have big names, but is tactically sound and knows what it's doing. Kinda wish Poalnd was such a team, unfortunately we always have "potential" on paper, but are almost always mentally and technically unprepared...

Soooo now we're awaiting the semifinals, and many are predicting a final match between Italy and England. I was never that fond of the English team, so I say why not Italy vs Denmark...
Out of the teams knocked out in the quarter-finals, I felt for the Swiss, they really held their own against Spain even if they had a man sent off, but this time the penalty shootout wasn't favorable to them.
