Only high level conflux creatures were cheap and mid level troops were too expensive. Espeically Energy and Magma eles were definitely too bad considering their high prices.

Conflux was good because Sprites, Doubled Phoenixies and cheap Magic eles. Now they are gone and no reason to play with this town anymore.

I still play Conflux. And thank you for the explanation.

Since when having the fastest creature in the game combined with several creatures immune to the most destructive spell = bad? Even without Armageddon you'll always cast first, which is a serious advantage in many scenarios. You still have the "double Phoenixes", only now you actually have to pay for them. Energy and Magma Elementals have high growth for their levels and not all that expensive. Sprites suck for everything beyond early map cleanup, though I can agree that they took quite a hit with those requirements. Conflux is still very powerful when it comes to spell bombardments though and its army does quite a decent job for supporting that role.

No early sprites is plain annoying. I agree with firebird growth at 3 and being unable to build them before week 3 but 20 mercury plus another 5 for the 3rd bird is just meh. And those prices. Conflux was already a very costly town and they went and made it considerably costlier. /facepalm

It was costly? Man, you should definitely play with Inferno more, that will teach ya to squeeze the most value out of overpriced creatures/buildings. But seriously, what was so costly in the SoD Conflux? I'd say it was underpriced.

the storm and ice elementals cost a bit of money, and since they are always carried along to clear the map their cost mattered. But... to be honest, with 2 heroes that produce gold each day, and 2 more heroes starting with estates I don't think Conflux is costly in SoD / WoG. I think Castle, Inferno and Tower are more expensive than Conflux

Conflux is still the best town in HotA. People are willing to pay much gold to play it.

Firebird immunity replaced with 50% Fire Resist

Why would a creature MADE of fire not be immune to fire? That's retarded reasoning. They could have just reduced a stat some.

I've never understood why imp cost is 50 while Master gremlins and hobgoblins -which are a lot better- are cheaper?

The same applies to Archdevil and its dwelling. This unit doesn't deserve to be more expensive than 3500 gold.

Yeah this makes no sense what so ever.

However, only Firebirds have the 50% fire resistance. Phoenixs are still immune to fire magic. So it could be explained that Firebirds are just fire breathing birds and are biological in nature. Whereas Phoenixs are made completely out of fire and thus are a creature of fire.

I guess that makes a liitle more sense. Maybe firebirds aren't all flame? Or are they just not as hot? Never really thought about it.

That's probably intended. They can be fodder for Demon raising by Pit Lords. That makes them a lot more valuable.

Do most players really see cost of Imp, Arch devil and its dwelling reasonable due to demon farming?

3500 for a creature which beats everything which is not an Archangel and is perfect for map cleanup doesn't sound right. The Chaos Hydras cost 3500 and they suck.

That would be true if Heroes were doomed to carry only one stack, but in full scale battles they always prove themselves how awful 7.th tier units are.

4500 gold is so insane cost for a creature that has only 200 HP and without any immunity. It has no enemy retaliation ability but other creatures can already obtain it by using cannon fodders.  Its not only worse than Archangel, its worse than all of 7.th level creatures beside Phoenix considering both strenghes and costs.

Even at least Ghost Dragon is cheaper, has nice ability and some magic immunities. Plus Building its dwelling is easier.

You are talking nonsense. I get it, you don't like the fact that they are not some blunt brawlers like some other level 7s that you can throw into the middle of the enemy army to wreak havoc and soak damage. They are not designed to be, although they certainly take quite a punch due to the very high Defense (repeating myself that they are only really vulnerable to direct-damage spells). They have enough speed to jump all around the battlefield and deal fairly decent no-retaliation damage or avoid getting piled upon. You have your power stack of Horned Demons if you've done your farming properly to take and deal damage, you can raise an additional stack of Demons if you don't throw your Pit Lords carelessly into the melee. You use the Devils for disruption and taunting the opponent (pun intended), not for slaughtering his entire army. There's a thing called synergy which might not be that obvious if you rely solely on "Waaaaagh!" tactics.

Are we taking Horn of the Abyss into account here? Because towns have been rebalanced there. Castle and Necropolis aren't as strong, Inferno is a lot stronger.

Archdevils are very good actually. Maybe they cost a bit too much, but they are easier for ressurection and they are not meant to fight alone but wait, hit and return. Also they are nice to use with Force Field.

I agree, Arch Devils are good. You just get Strike and Return+Ignore 40% defence before month 2 and kill enemies. You then need Fire Immunity (excluding befecial) before Ajit and check if Dace has any hatred towards Arch Devils and wait for next week if it's the case. Demon farming only starts month 3+ and it will be a long time before you have 20k+ demons with 600 damage, and you still have Sultan Efreets with resurrection and 2 bonus casts as a meat shield, so you're kinda forced to use Arch Devils anyway.
