Chicago Calorie Dish.

I'm sorry but NYC makes better pizza than Italy along with everybody else. New York-style pizza is otherwordly tasty and portable in one hand.

That's okay though because Italy still wins at 10-course dining. Stromboli, pasta, salad, breadsticks, soup, wine, etc. Y

The list lacks a Neapolitan pizza! Famous the same with paella, etc. among them. But old nonfiction book. My sicilian guy knows Neapolitan pizza. I bring a Job's news to him then. Ok finnish Berlusconi was been reindeer pizza (earlier name), and mushroom wasn't. yes blue cheese was added They kotipizza (home pizza) developed still pizza, etc when pizza is ready, they named Berlusconi. I never ate yet. Swedish kebab will Swedish kebab win over the turkish. My home city got a turkish restaurant. In August since I test turkish buffet, kebab, brunch, and food menu.

Owner Real turkish. No muslim. If you eat kebab in finland, don't go to muslim, they use a microwave. You should know what's the adana, etc In there real meat roll. IDK why muslim does snow. And muslim people are there. I think reason is cheap. Finnish kebab or new turkish pay much more. Over €10, and muslim you pay €5-7 or about €9 in a large dose. But your belly says two dose or large dose. I'm disagree.

Italian pasta food, etc is ok, no so top level in Finland. In Italy or America you get better pasta food.

Adrius said already we have a swedish kebab pizza Now we know what he meant also his tasting opinion about the best pizza.

I ate the Reindeer Pizza in Finland, but I don't remember it ever being called Berlusconi...

Northeast USA has a thing for clams, no wonder they even have a pizza with them... that said USA wouldn't be itself if they didn't "invent" something themsleves, but most of the pizzas listed on the jpg are variants of existing ones with some sort of a twist. Guess you can invent as much.

I wonder if Flammkuchen should be listed as "pizza", it's more of a foccacia actually. Yeah I know focaccia is basically a pizza but I'm sure there are more pizzas that could make to the list as many countries have at least a few local variants, for instance in Poland you can get pizza with cranberries and Oscypek/smoked cheese, or sausage and pickled cucamber...

4th of July is over yankee, there's no need to say such things anymore.

Never got the reason why you foreigners decided to call a slice an entire new style of pizza, is it because of the size? Because I can just as well buy a bigger pizza and take a slice out of it and have the same experience.
But then again, entering that rabbit hole of spurious terminology is going to kill me, who in their right mind calls a pizza a pie? Which is it, pizza or pie? They are different doughs, just like a pita isn't a pizza because of the way the dough is made and how it is cooked, yet we made pizzas in a similar way before having tomatoes.
Then again, arguably we Sicilians have our own take on the dough, because we're superior to those Neapolitan mongrel traitors and their "Jamme ja, bedda Napule magna 'sta pizz", someone put tomato sauce on a pizza and now Naples takes all the credit, just like always in history, we make things here and they take the credit, why? Because some French guy wanted to lick the ass of the Pope, bloody thieves, they even called their "university" Federico II, bloody hypocrites, they were the first in line to fight the Hohenstaufens and the rebellion of the Peninsular part of the kingdom was instrumental in Manfred's defeat, but, oh no! We love the kingdom of Sicily, those bloody secessionist uncorkers, they don't even speak proper Sicilian nor proper Italian, but claim to have a language, language my hairy ass, that bunch of caveman grunts is barely related to Latin, but claim to have a tradition of poetry and literature, AS IF! Not only did the Florentines take our poetry and "adapt" it to their inferior language, but the southerners decided to just ignore the actual progenitor of Italian and decided to adopt the northerner language, but were unable to speak it because they're so ignorant.
And look at them and their little "Neo-Borbonic" movement, to think that I used to want the Two-Sicilies back, I was soooo naive, but the only way to make it work would have to be restoring the proper kingdom of Sicily with Palermo as its rightful capital, no other option is viable, and should they complain about it, I say firebombing Naples to oblivion is the only proper response, or I don't know, maybe triggering another eruption of Vesuvius, that could be pretty good.

Arguably, some items on that list I wouldn't even call a pizza but salty pies, just like I'm salty about the Martin the elder's death and disputed succession, I say that the internationalization of our cuisine has only muddied the waters on what gets to be called a pizza, and I don't like to excuse this kind of behaviour, like the flammkuchen, that's not a pizza, that's bread dough with things on it, which by the way I now want to taste it, I mean, give the credit to the poor Alsatian bakers, they invent something and now they are put in the same umbrella of something they didn't even know existed, or cookie-crust, what? Is it a cookie or a pizza? Get your terminology right, if it has sugar and butter in it, then a pizza it is not!

I say that criminalizing the making of pizza outside of Italy is in order, except in Japan, our Nipponic ally is just too good at transforming things that I wouldn't want them to lose such a creative avenue.

@Neraus

I've eaten pizza in Naples, in one of those popular restaurants (don't remember the name though, was young back then), was pretty good. But paradoxically the best pizza in Italy I ate was in Siena, in some random bar near Piazza del Campo. They had this rectangular pre-made pizzas on a thick crust, and it was cut in smaller rectangulars which were sold per piece.

You can fight between your countryman, but for inventing, or at least popularizing pizza, your country has my eternal gratitude

It so happens I have a restaurant that is owned by an Italian (who is even rumored to be a subject of a key witness relocation program) near my home, and I think his recepies are pretty damn close to his homeland (he is from Veneto).

Ah yeah, the ovened pizza, my favourite afternoon snack, the best thing is that I can just take a small walk and get a slice if I het a wee bit hungry.

And yes, Neapolitan pizza is overrated, while I still ought to go in the best pizzeria of Naples (don't know if it's worth losing my kidneys tho) so it's still more my hatred of Neapolitans speaking, but until now the best pizzas I've eaten have been here (of bloody course) and in Milan, while it was delicious in many other places in Italy it's a sort of average for me.
And I've done the sin of every Italian traveling, which is eating pizza outside. England and France have my seal of disapproval for now, Switzerland is fine (leaving out they're partly Italian), didn't try it in Czechia though, for once there I only ate local specialties but somebody told me they ate a good pizza there so dunno, I'll have to see for myself.

Actually, I'm going to risk my life and try the American... I refuse to call it American, but since I'll perhaps (depending on how long will it take to get a passport) go to Florida with my brother, I may even give those barbarians a chance.

Is this thread basically just Neraus trying to prove that Italians are superior in cooking and the only one's who should be allowed to make pizza?

Also the reason one slice was called a "pizza" was because when the first pizzeria in New York opened the pizza's were sold for 5 cents a pie. Many people could not afford a full pizza though, so the offered what they could for a corresponding sized slice. Which was wrapped in paper and tied with a string.

You seem to be mistaken, I don't have to prove the obvious, I'm stating facts.

If anything this thread is now about those dirty Neapolitans and how they should be decimated and enslaved, if not wiped from the face of the earth.

Did I mention that Naples is one of the reasons the Roman Empire fell? If you look hard enough you can always trace the fall of great civilizations to the malice and barabarous rage of the Neapolitan, scourge of Italy and the earth, you can pinpoint the fall of the great European empires on them too actually.

I wouldn't be surprised if Hitler was actually a Neapolitan.

Italian/Turkish/Chinese is the way I go. Italian when it comes to stuff like pasta, pizza, and how they use the tasty olive oil with such pastry. Also, I am a tomato person,  in most of my pictures as a kid, I eat tomatos like apples and Italian tomato sauces are great. Turkish when it comes to meat, the kebabs and so on, also yogurt with garlic goes a long way with so many of our traditional food that I love. I even have my own pasta where I put olive oil on it the way Italians do but the sauce has yogurt, garlic and sumac. Chinese because it is very very different than the other two and interesting, yet still very delicious. Although, Chinese food is mostly expensive here and now that I live by a small coastal town, it is literally non-existent.

Well, I guess the noodles would count as fast food but I prefer their soups and their mixed stuff with chicken and vegetables or veal and vegetables. I wouldnt call that fast food but you can order by phone (in Istanbul and other major cities). Dont know if it counts as fast food in the U.S..

I think that probably depends on which “Chinese” food we speak of. Cuisines adjust to local tastes when they go global. Someone who traveled a lot and had lived in the U.S., Canada, China and Taiwan told me that Chinese food in Western countries is quite different than the actual thing and even Taiwan had its differences. Similarly, I remember eating döner kebab in Edinburgh and it was indeed not what I’d call a döner. (But then again, I grew up in Ankara and we even tease people from Istanbul about how they never tasted the real döner.) But if we stay on the basics and not nitpick, I like the way Chinese vapor-cook vegetables and mix it with meat that doesnt taste fried or boiled but somehow also both fried and boiled, that thing they do with their woks. It is a conservative cuisine, so no “new continent” ingridients such as tomato or potato, (they use corn a lot though), which makes it unique.
