Is it possible to add new unit models into the game?
I am new to modding (like, I learned it just a few days ago  ).
So, I learned how to change textures and add/remove existing animations. However, I still want to learn to edit models.
Mainly, according to some older threads, it is impossible to add new unit models into the game.
Others say it is possible to extract models, but not to reinsert them.
And some say that it is possible to modify existing models.
So, if somebody has up-to-date knowledge I would really want to know if it is possible to create those. Otherwise, every unit I make will be bound to be just a simple recolor of the already existing units. But I want more, I want to add snakes, beholders, unicorns, etc into the game. And for that, I would need new models.
Now, from what I have seen searching the youtube, there are some mods that have successfully inserted their own models (I checked the shadows of the non-humanoid units, it matched) and I have a good feeling that somebody figured it out, but the knowledge is so obsucre my efforts yielded no concrete results or information.
Any help would be usefull.

If you want add new creatures, you should check New Creatures Framework.
