I recall that there is a "pay for upgrades at dwellings" kind of option somewhere in WOG. Is this required to be activated in order for the last change to operate, or is that change based entirely on the mod itself?

The first question is now moot, at least for me. I was losing that game badly, so I updated the mod and started another one.

So far, I'm liking the design changes. The two new dragon utopias are very good looking and challenging. One minor bug: the treasure from them includes a huge number of warlord banners (like 30 or more). I'm pretty sure that wasn't the intent. I haven't found any places to dispose of them so far, so I've had to hire heroes just ot dump the excess on them so my main guys have space in their backpacks. (I'm imagining a temporary workaround would be to deactivate warlord banners in the WOG options, but because I'm not sure what's causing the problem, I'm not sure what the effect would be.)

Another minor bug I noticed in the last version that may or may not have been corrected in this one: the magic compendium doesn't appear to do anything. it's supposed to cast all four magic protection spells at the start of combat and summon elementals. It does neither.

That said, I imagine WOG's complexity makes it hard to anticipate every conceivable problem. Really, it's amazing that there aren't far more bugs.

ResourceManager::GetSprite could not find the "sprite" resource "AVSfntn1.def".

New: Still can't find any way to play random map. And I have tried different scenario map, the game crashed when I ended turn (day 1 turn).

Hey man, played a lot with your mod today. Really digging it!

Some bugs and balancing issues I've noticed:

1. Hero specializations makes some creatures seriously overpowered. Don't know if it's mod related, but it seems so. Like 3th level evil eye had 450 health with hero specialization boost.

2. Stronghold level 3s are seriously underpowered compared to other castles.

3. 3th level behemoth ignores 80% defense, while 4th level ignores only 40%. I think some balancing needs to be done, since level 2s ignore 60% which is way too much.

Will keep on playing and reporting bugs. Me and my m8 are praising your mod. The artifacts, new utopias and 3th level upgrades are an insanely good addition. Keep up the good work man! <3

Pardon me if you've tried these troubleshooting steps already, but just in case, here's what I would do:

Check the location where the file is supposed to be (in the mods, folder, Third Upgrade Mod, Data, Typhon,pac backup is the folder where I found it. Presumably, it's also contained within Typhon.pac itself).

If it's there, I don't know what to tell you. If it's not, there are two possible courses of action. You can extract it from the installation package and manually copy it to where it's supposed to go, but that's a last resort. Better is to delete the Third Upgrade Mod folder and reinstall. Likely, something went wrong with the first install. If reinstalling doesn't work, try redownloading the install package. Make sure you're getting it from the official download location. (If the package itself was inherently defective, all of us should be having the same problem. Since we're not, there must be some local issue.)

Are you using the mod with the latest version of ERA II? This doesn't sound like a version issue to me, but if all else fails, check everything.

I'm now realizing I may have misread the last item. I presumed you meant that a new routine had been added to give the hero the choice of hiring level 8 creatures from the dwelling or upgrading level 7 creatures in the hero's army. I now think what you really meant was that you were eliminating the fourth upgrade from towns, making the only source of fourth upgrade creatures the dwellings. At least, that's how the mod actually behaves. And that's fine. It just took me a while to figure out what was going on...

However, I made another interesting discovery. I read the discussion earlier in the thread about 8th level upgrade structures built by an AI player not functioning once captured by a human player. In the current version, this only seems partially true. The third upgrade levels no longer show in the creature recruitment window. However, if a hero is present in town, right-clicking on a particular stack brings up the picture and description--with upgrade arrows. A click on the arrows, and I can upgrade to third upgrade level just as if I'd built the upgrade structure myself.

I'm not sure whether or not that change was intentional or just a side-effect of some other change, but it's great! Before I realized what was going on, it was a hassle to have to find another town of the same type and build the upgrade structure there. This is much easier.

I try to play a big map, everything is fine until the end of the first turn, then the game crashed. I have recently deleted version 1.10 (it was fine) to install 1.12. Thank you very much for your work, I hope you are well.

We will try to keep track of all bugs as long as you recover from excessive H3 modding, VMaiko.
In the new version seems like one def file is missing. If the game becomes unplayable i suggest to go back to previous version until it is fixed.

However, if there is no empty slot, and the hero has ancient liches, the cloak will not raise ancient liches. You see the problem. The cloak probably should be made able to handle ancient liches.

I imagine WOG creates a complicated modding environment. The bugs are surprisingly few, all things considered. Thanks for a wonderful mod, and I'm glad you're feeling better.

Ok, firsly about Dragon Utopias, seriouly only give warlords banners? that never happened to me, surely it's a thing of bad settings, test it on a new map if it really works, if not, show me your configurations, and your mods.

Second, the magic compendium should work correctly if you play it on a new map, in the Liso's channel (heroes3wog.net) you will be able to see that they work correctly.

Finally, many have told me about the cloak of the undead king and the truth is that I never configured it to give Ancient Liches, it's possible, but if I do that, necropolis will have too much advantage.

I'll check it on a new map. The one I'm playing now is a random map generated by the unleashed editor that comes with ERA.

At this point, I'm using nothing that doesn't come standard with ERA except your mod. But if I keep getting these odd results, I'll be happy to send you the configuratiion.

As far as the cloak of the undead king is concerned, are you thinking it would give too much advantage because of the extra abilities the ancient lich has? If that's the case, is it possible to edit it so that it produces ancient liches at a lower rate than it produces liches? That seems like a decent solution if it could be done without too much trouble.

At fist, I thought the compendium wasn't working either, not noting that it is, in fact, a combination artifact (made of the 4 tomes of magic). So it's quite powerful! Make sure you have 4 unocupied misc slots to equip it.

I asked the same question about the cloak. The thing is, at least for me, it just becomes a pure aesthetic issue. Once you get your hands on it, with expert necromancy, the number of liches you get is enough to steamroll the whole map... and then some more. So, in the end, it doesn't really matter if it's liches, power liches or ancient liches doing it. I did notice Lord Haart's specialization not working with Death Riders, though. Not sure if it's intentional.

As for bugs or game crashes, I did have some where I didn't before (with the same settings). It didn't create a log, though. The game just closed on AI's turn.

Other than that, I found the spell Berzerk doing a weird sound and then writing "123" in green letters on the corner of the screen.

Have you guys not noticed the specilization boost causes too much OP units or is it me? Third level creatures with the specialization boost can have x3 - x4 their initial health.

If you have activated the script in wog options it's not necessary, it's already enabled in the mod. On the other hand, you can activate battle extender script if it seems very unbalanced.
