Something tells me we're going to suck at following lockdown procedures and USA will have a ton of bodies before we hit summer.
I'm considering sticking myself with an experimental vaccine asap depending on how easy the volunteer process is.

I've been hearing that people that were told to not come to work for the next two weeks packed up and left for their grandma's village or headed to the beach to chill out. Good job, spread that crap some more

Well, you just have to look at Italy to see what'll happen next to all of you.
We entered the final phase of lockdown today, all non essential industry is closing down as well and harsher measures have been taken in regards to isolation.
And also, people won't react well, they'll violate quarantine and isolation, here it's sort of a meme, people going out to the beach, playing cards.
Best one, someone was arrested while playing pokémon GO. lol
I don't want to sound like some weird knock off prophet, but Italy is a cautionary tale for the world, we all reacted too late to take measures like south Korea and Japan and our aging populations will take the worst of this.

We have cases of disobidience in PL, but government ordered state of epidemic, so the penalty for breaking quarantine skyrocketed. This should keep some people at bay I think.
Maybe we aren't the best example of how to fight against corona: our government sucks, they are very bad at preventing economical backslash with stupid decisions (a lot of small-time businesses like tourism or restaurants will die off because they are generating zero income, yet the government just postopones their payments a few months etc) plus our procedures are idiotic (potential infected are basically left to their own designs), but at the moment I'm writing this we have 547 known cases and 5 deaths, which I think shows that we somehow manage to keep it under control so far. But I don't want to be too optimistic as specialists say the critical point will come in April.
That said when I look on how irresponsible some groups of people are then I am left speechless. We all need to chill down with our activities, do you think I'm not missing going out with friends for a beer or to an eatery (from time to time at least  )?

The problem is, the world will not let the economy stop, so all of us are forced to spend the least, waste the least and still get taxes, and even if all governments would agree to just pardon debts, print money as necessary and do a global guarantee on lost jobs...
You have big investors and bankers that will shriek at the idea, the problem is that global finance isn't owned by countries, it's owned by a cabal of people that won't let any country do the appropriate measures without first draining their blood and cursing them for the future.

Also, goddamn Czechs stole our masks and ventilators, like, what the hell? It was more than 100 thousand units that would have really helped us out, since we can't even fit people in hospitals and are forced to transfer those filthy plagued northerners here in the south. I don't want to exaggerate, but, they are helping in killing our people.

They're sewing cloth masks in New York City to keep up with the demand, and they've enacted emergency war measures that can order private companies to start mass production of certain supplies.
It would have been reaaaally ****ing nice if they started mass testing in early February because they already knew back then how contagious and serious the virus was, so it's not like it came out of nowhere.

I heard that Lombardy had strange pneumonia cases as early as November. Italy might have picked up the disease almost as soon as China did if somebody was in Wuhan.

It’s not about Italians going to Wuhan, it’s rather about Italians having thousands of Chinise workers, they went family visiting during the holidays and carried the disease.

Yeah I know. If they have citizenship or are working towards citizenship then they're Italians too though. The first outbreak happened just before Chinese New Year and my students were talking about it back then.

Actually first case was a German, then it probably spread from there, despite the expected, it wasn't the chinese that initially brought the disease here, although it's correct, we do have a lot of chinese people here that went to China for holidays.
Ironically tho, Prato, the city that's almost chinese majority wasn't hit first by the virus.
Anyway we got this in late January that's at least the official data that tracked the actual earliest case.
After all, it wasn't that much of an emergency here in late february, despite there being an entire town that was infected, and these measures came at a surprise.
But anyway, it happened, now follow suit, the world is almost going to punish us for the pandemic instead of helping, especially those dang europeans.

Ultimately Russia released over 1000 lions and tigers to keep people inside.
They said stay inside for 2 weeks or go to jail for 5 years. + the tigers.
I have a pint of Amsterdam vodka and 3 rolls of industrial TP. The americans are hustling because of hoarders. I have food. I have smokes.
But not enough for 2 weeks. Still no poptarts.

My suggestion would be to import those lions and tigers to California on the beaches without warning.

Well two Canadian Provinces just imposed martial law. Or rather, a much weaker version of it. But they are willing to go the whole nine yards at a moments notice. Curfew, police patrols, requiring documentation stating why you are leaving your home, all of it.
And the doctors in my Province are calling for harsher restrictions and want us to lock down, simply because people aren't heeding the advice and warnings. I agree with them. Enough pussyfooting around. Especially considering that we just hit over 1000+ confirmed cases.
