The Tides of War Mod [Beta] for ERA V.1.1.3

THIS MOD IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH THIRD UPGRADES MOD.




This mod is a port of the original version of VCMI. I'm not the original author, all credits to their corresponding authors:

Witchking - Leader and 3d Artist.
Hobbicus - 2d, 3d Artist and Musician.
Trith - 3d Artist.
Nephretes - 3d Artist.
Sower - 2d and 3d Artist.
Drwal - 2d Artist.
Khemiel - 2d Artist.
avatar - json guy.

Others who helped create The Tides of War for VCMI:

Differences between ERA and VCMI version.

-Interface and skin of the original mod adapted to ERA.
-To make them more even with Wog creatures, alternate creatures also have new abilities in Stack Experience.
-No new Creature Banks.
-No new Heroes.
-No new Artifacts. Partially new Artifacts.
-No new Spells.
-No new Secondary Skills.
-No new buildings in cities to build, however you can choose which creature can spawn in dwellings before you build them.
-Due to ERA limitations, some creature abilities based on new spells could not be replicated:

*Dryad: No longer uses symbiosis, but its upgraded version "Oak Dryad" has a new special ability.

*Abyssal Triton: Instead of attacking with "Trawl" now paralyzes.

*Dire Werewolf: Partially equal to his "Rage" ability, Werewolf of Wog was replaced by Dire Werewolf of The Tides of War, so they also have an additional ability that only Wog veterans know him.

*Ghost: Wog Ghost has been replaced by VCMI version, in my opinion they're exactly the same as the VCMI version due to their ability.

But don't be discouraged, in future releases it may probably be possible to add everything that's missing from the ERA Edition. This is Beta version.

Nice. the models' creator is a russian polish guy, btw. Here's his thread (he also does third upgrade models for VCMI. You could contact him and ask him if you could use his models for your own mod, VMaiko): Additional Creature Upgrades

He's called Kuririn there. Also, this is the YT channel where his models are showcased: Centrum Heroes III

P.S. Skip the first pages. That was the start only. Later on he began making the 3D models.

I know him, in fact I have seen his progress long before I created Third Upgrades mod for ERA 2, I can tell you little but I wait for VCMI's New Uprades to be released to use its final models.  I think the same author prefers it this way. That work is longer and has been working for years but it will be better done than my own mod and it will make more hype than Tides of War, that's why I hope it finishes soon and he doesn't give up.

Oh well, that's nice. Did you collaborate or ever spoke to him (no problem if you don't want to tell, I'm just curious).

Edit: To be honest, I'd want him to share some models, especially naga's and Titan's, so I can 3D print them. But well, that's years of work, so maybe only after mod release or for money he's gonna do that.

No, I only know him as a user, but I never contacted him and I doubt he will if I have to go to the acidcave forum to do it.

Here I'm working on the new update that could be released today or tomorrow, so stay tuned, I found a mistake of mine also that Tritons could not be upgraded.


Update to v.1.1.0

[*] Triton's bug could not be Upgraded to Abyss Triton was fixed.
[*] Fixed Dragon Golem sprite identical to Drake Golem.
[*] Added Demilich, Dread Skipper, Mermaid  can now be freely generated on a random map including 2 new dwellings, for Demilich and Dread Skipper respectively.
[*] Various decorative objects that are generated on a random map have been added to give more life to the game.

In vcmi version:
- Dryad and Oak Dyads can cast one ber battle spell called Symbiosis. But this spell can be casted only on Dendroid Soldiers and Dendroid Guards and efect is identical as Archangels' Ressurection.

Ressurected Dendroids by Dryads last only for end of the battle.
Ressurected Dendroids by Oak Dryads - efect is pernament.

OK. I have partially replicated this. But the revivals are all permanent. Each dryad has 10 resurrection points. Dead stack can be revived.

I need someone to look into the stack structure to find the location of revived units from basic resurrection, then the game manager can handle the temporary revival automatically.(I guess so.)

OR, I need a hook before calculating battle death, then I can manually handle the temporary revival.

In vcmi technically symbiosis are two separate spells - one to permament effect, second - for temporary.

Update to v1.1.3

[-] Succubi and Lilims can now attack with Hate spikes (thanks to xericsin).

[-] Quetzalcoatls are now immune to all creature effects (script fixed by PerryR).

[-] A Paladin ability removed that granted prayer to enemy creatures.
