Oh, my collection is secret. I can only disclose one:

(Maya from Tenjou Tenge) - I'm too lazy to go get an actual shelf picture of her.

I think I've sank at least 800+ worth of litas, which is probably not that much but the sheer fact I was into collecting these kind of things makes me jiggle

I actually put more money in McFarlane lines of figures... me and my brother were pretty much into collecting figures at some point, usually fanatasy themed, from games etc. But a few anime figures also made home.

I see fellow man of culture, I raise my glass to you. That anime was great.

Those proportions feel slightly off though, she never had such a long, slender figure from what I recall. Especially the legs. Probably an artistic take on her, looks good regardless.

I'm not into collectibles, but I do know some people irl who have figurines like that. Not sure, I don't think I'll ever entertain the idea, seems like a veritable sink for a lot of money.

There there, let's not jump to conclusions

It was tempting, but I didn't invest in one of those "two variants" kind of figures. Yet.

Finally watched Maquia. Great movie, 9/10. Impressive visuals, decent setting and narrative, and tons of drama. It got me tearing up a bit a the end, couldn't help it, the last scene was too powerful. It's kinda dishonest how they gear everything up to hit you in the feels, but I guess that's the whole point of drama. Or maybe I'm just too conscious about it, but I feel confident I could build a case. I won't elaborate though, the anime's really good either way in its major points and that's what matters in the end.

It simply means you have a heart Stevie

Man Shokugeki no Soma final season is stupid as f*ck. It really is a stupid as the manga (I only took a short peek through the last chapters). The series was fun because while it always had this air of over-dramatization, it actually made sense on a culinary and storytelling level and was simply fresh (pun intended) anime-wise. It also managed to hold a level of suspense. Now it's just some kind of freak show where a bunch of lunatics use chainsaws of guilottines (literally) to cook and their OP-leader seemingly imprints a chefs ability based simply on touching their tool. It looks like the author wanted to put in as much far'fetched ideas that he had but was too humbled at first. And the pacing is all over the place, you don't have time to get to know one antagonist, the next one is already introduced. The series should've ended after season 4 with just some kind of closure to wrap things up.

Meanhwile SAO Underworld season xyz gamma has delivered one of the most pathos episode in anime history. It was such a living cr@p of a storytelling that it deserves all kinds of memes possible.

Thanks for the brief reminder that I should not waste my time with the above mentioned titles. Only been steering clear of them because of reading such criticism. Can't lie that there's a certain curiosity, especially for SAO since it seems popular despite it all. Not gonna follow up on that feeling though, got some others more worthy waiting on the list.

If you want to, you can at least watch the first season of SAO. I don't know how it holds after all those years, but I remember it fondly. At that time it was fresh, unique and exciting even. I know it had it's fair share of teen idiocy and pathos (its only apparent after all those years), but I can't say it wasn't memorable and the premise itself was pretty dope. Can't lie I wasn't even a fan of the series at that time (you need to remember isekai/mmorpg was almost nonexistant in anime at that time and for a Western gamer this was pretty nerdy).

But not only the author is a failure in storytelling (he even admits it himself) the worst thing the anime adaptation creators go along with this BS...

SAO past season 1 can only be watched ironically. Not that the second part of the first season was not hot garbage. SAO abridged on the other hand is great and a must watch.

Yep I know at this point SAO is one big meme, but believe me when it first appeared it was a hit (like Count says the first half of season 1 is actually ok, later half is ok-ish aside from incest implifications and rape scenes). It's hard to say at this point why I liked it at that time, but probably defending it now doesn't make much sense after all that transpired (series becoming synonymous with cringe and cliched tropes). I won't even try. Stevie can go watch it as a curiosity and either accept or bash it for what it is

EDIT: This is a pretty funny parody: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=onYSNgHbbW8. @Stevie DON'T unless you want spoilers

EDIT 2: Besides, this anime is a cultural phenomena cus it produced so many self-proclaimed critics and experts on the subject (what is wrong, how to fix etc) that Youtube should literally create a separate section for it

Animation and world are top notch and the soundtrack is S tier.

Main character is too bland. Why i love the abridged version is that it capitalises and builds on a good core that Kirito has. Loved it as a kid Yuki Kaj's music is top tier. As an adult it's still enjoyable but so much potential given up to habe mediocre characters.

SAO abridged defeats the original hands down

I watched some of Alicization, it tried but just couldn't. The fact that Kirito is no longer overpowered doesn't make the story much better. Also it stopped being escapist fun which was its sole redeeming quality.

Ahh good ol' Re Zero. Beating the crap out of its main protagonist since 2016. Bunnies munching on him was pretty intense though.

That scene with Echidna was pretty heartwarming, but I have a feeling she isn't exactly sincere with Subaru.

Great episode to say the least. Again, no shortage of things to talk about.

*major spoilers Re:Zero 2nd season, episode 8*

So basically..... Garfiel finds them with the help of "the eyes of the forest", makes sense since I figured what that meant last episode. He's committed to stopping any move Subaru makes since he hates the witch's scent on him, even going against Rem who admits he likes, entering his beast form and killing everyone in his way. Major points for Garfiel here, very satisfying character development.

But before that, Subaru gets to chat with Roswaal and gets handed that secret phrase again for Beatrice, this time with an answer too. He's also clearing her name and explaining she's reading something slightly different from a Gospel, which are defective versions. She's reading a text of which there are only 2 copies that show "the true future", the closest thing to the Tome of Wisdom... What? True future? Tome of Wisdom? That's not a Gospel? Isn't that the exact same book Subaru got from BETELGEUSE ROMANE CONTIIIIIIII and delivered to her, unbeknownst to Roswaal since he was at the Sanctuary? Uhm... what?

And I'm pretty sure Roswaal is very much studying Subaru's reactions, his mood, trying to read in between the lines. He's definitely got a plan and setting things in motion, but he's too cryptic to make it easily understood. It's evident since Subaru asks him directly if he's the enemy.

Then Subaru runs out of the forest, and at a very crucial moment after being thrown by Patrache out of the magic field, there's a blue crystal like that of Garfiel and Frederica flying briefly before him? And then he gets teleported.. where? And then he gets assaulted by the Beast of Caerbannog mabeasts? What purpose did that scene serve?

And then finally, he goes back to the Windows XP wallpaper courtesy of earning the qualification - How? What for? The second trial or just the witch's tea party? Confusing for a while as to where it fit temporally, is it before or after the first trial? If it's after, wouldn't Emilia be waking up just moments later?

And yea, something tells me Echidna's not comforting Subaru out of a feeling of kindness, more like exploiting his vulnerability for her ulterior motives. But I guess that remains to be seen, maybe too early to pull the trigger on that one. Otherwise, Subaru getting some emotional relief, that thing about never being able to tell anyone about his ability or someone died, which did not mean himself necessarily. If you guys remember that episode where Emilia died instead, Echidna makes a clear reference to that before he uttered the words, so she did in fact know about his situation from the very beginning and was not trying to bluff/read Subaru like Roswaal might have. Amazingly well executed scene have to admit.

Wonder why Subaru doesn't try to go with the first variant (before his first Sanctuary restart). Garfiel was pretty cooperative then.

Hard to tell but I don't remember him handling it ever to her... plus Subaru makes an assumption she belongs to the Witch Cult based on her having a Gospel so it's probably a different book. Btw I wonder how Subaru will handle the Beako recruitment. He learned the "how to" from Roswaal then died... it would be strange how he knew that if he won't actually talk with Roswaal in this timeline.

Judging by the weather conditions it's probably a few montsh later. In this future I think the Sanctuary was compromised.

The series is so intriguing to watch becasue it's so cryptic. Every episode brings more questions, the dialogues are done so that they only shed light on some things while missing on others. It doesn't help that Subaru's rushes. Instead of trying to pull out as much info as possible he usually ends a conversation after learning a few things that he was most interested in.

Tbh didn't expect this to be a dead end, simply because we got last ep's heartwarming scene and because things went into an entirely unexpected direction. Well played.

I'm definitely enjoying Roswaal's presence. In Subaru's case I would have talked more with him, he's too emotional for his own good. Also if Garfiel knows about the witch's scent, there's no way Roswaal doesn't.

I have a feeling that Puck is involved in the weather change but that's just a personal hunch. Probably everyone in the mansion is dead and the bunnies finished off the villagers. That's the face of the real bad ending there.

Echidna no doubt invited Subaru back in because he was on the brink of losing his mind. I bet she's honest but taking things one at a time. She definitely has a lot of knowledge to syphon from Subaru and she no doubt wants it. And not just the surface, the surface she could already see.

Well played indeed, all things suggested this was the "right track" already. But Subaru learned the hard way how dangerous Garf is, this might come in handy. Also this whole timeline was something that broke Subaru's mind yet again, so Echidna could intervene. Btw notice how Otto's sacrifice shows that he truly is an ally of Subaru.

This emotionality of Subaru is starting to irritate me. Yep I know the s*it he's going through is really hard and it's a baseline for his degrading state of mind (hope the guy won't eventually turn to madness), but at this point you would expect for him to be more cynical and level-headed. But maybe I'm not that good with human psychology...

Elvin said:

Might be, but due to appearance of Mabeasts my theory is that simply the Sanctuary barrier was broken. I don't know if it was stated somewhere how long Puck's ultra-freeze lasts... although he did say at one point that in case of Emilia's death he will end the world so this might be a hint. Btw on a side note I don't believe despite his proclamation that he would be able to actually "destroy the world". There seems to be so many powerful being in this world that I doubt he would be able to...

I've read somewhere that she pursuits knowledge first and foremost.
