How to ban spells & artifacts?

So, basically I disable certain spells & artifacts on both RGMs (hota + heroes) but for some reason these spells / artifacts still exist in all templates.
It is really frustrating fighting an AI who summons hordes of elementals each turn + finds Dimensional Door and Fly every game.
I hate these spells and I don't use them myself.. I import ALL templates and ban them with the "do this for all maps in this template" button but yet the AI still uses those..

I wanna disable angel wings, Orb of Inhibition, Recanter's Cloak, Cape of Silence, Fly, Dimensional Door, Town Portal, all Elementals Summon spells.

Does anyone has a guide / explanation on how to disable stuff?

btw, I'm new here and I'm shocked by the fact that people still love one my all time favorite games which I played as a kid who knew nothing (I'm still an average player but I get better from time to time ^^)

In the WOG options you can disable many of them.

I've wrote this about banning them from the template, using the RMG Template Editor from HotA. I guess it helps.

Some things are much better now. Dozens of streams a day from top players, so you can learn in a week what would cost years of experience without it. And Maretti is back.

Most spell settings can be edited through the SpTraits.txt file, including: name and description, level, school(s), MP cost (per level), power/effectiveness, and appearance probabilities per town. If any spell from the game ye wish to remove, simply set the appearance rate to 0 for all towns, unset its school(s), and set the level to 4 (level 1-3 spells can appear randomly in shrines, while the Spellcaster's Hat can teach all level 5 spells). Also remember that the spell may still be cast by creatures and/or artifacts. When editing appearance rates, just remember that in each town the possible results for each level all need to add up to 100 - not 112 like the skill probabilties for hero classes.

The ArTraits.txt file in the H3bitmap.lod archive allows you to edit the value, class (treasure, minor, major, relic, etc.) equipment slot, and descriptions of artifacts. If you wish to remove an artifact from the game, simply set it as class "S" (spellbook) in ArTraits.txt. This will prevent it from appearing as a random artifact, but it can still appear if it's specifically
placed on a map or given via a campaign. Be sure to maintain as much balance as possible throughout the four classes (treasure, minor, major, and relic) to minimize the appearance of duplicate artifacts.

Hi, I couldn't find the Traits.txt files you were referring to, can you give me a hand with that?
Also, I don't know how to edit a ".lod" since it's filled with some Gibberish combined with English.

Only HotA atm (unless you're gonna tell me that it's the same thing? idk, I'm a newbie at this)

HotA as far as i know, when you disable DD or Fly in map editor, they wont show up in mage guilds, pyramids, tomes and spellbinder hat. Also original game had bug when AI could use Water Walk as fly spell.

I think I've seen it on Reddit earlier today.
I already know how to do this but I think my problem was that I tried to do it to all maps together with "Do this for all maps in this pack" button instead of one by one.

Well, you sent me a link to a text that contains some broken links (like txtEdit).
So I've decided to search google for txtEdit with heroes3 in the same sentence and found some stuff that also helped me along with your link.

I've been to 2 - 3 different sites with info, if you really want it, I can find them for you in my history.

Ok I always explain a thing that others don’t explain. AI bugs aren't Water Walk, DD, Fly and TP. They're a AI bonus. Example of Cursed Land, AI can cast a Water Walk and TP. AI can't cast a DD and/or Fly. Not given OP but appropriate. Ok if AI jumps to Cursed land. And was trapped. But TP saves AI. Because also don't remember the Cursed land is not worth going. I've made a few map. AI was trapped. There is a more difficult solution for the human player. Because by chance the AI has a TP. Hm also not a bug when TP sometimes appeared in the spell book just what the same event is Fear spell in RoE. So HoMM is unexplored.

As I said, I visited more than 1 site with "info".
To me, "info" = either tools or a guide.

I gathered all the "info" from the sites I found + the given link and I managed to follow the instructions.

Well, the reason I ban these spells is because I always tend to lose the game if the AI has it and I don't..
I consider myself as an "advanced" player (6 on a scale from 0 to 10).
I am currently just improving, when I was younger around age 10 this game was THE snow but I was really bad (only one hero, no chains, no scouting, ALWAYS rushing capitol, sleeping in town waiting for day 1 and etc..).

Maybe in the future, when I feel confident enough, I'll return those spells and try to win the AI

- get rid of these pesky monoliths as much as possible from "Apocalypse" templates
- reduced number of neutral castles
- removed additional (overlooked) mines for red/blue player (from now all players start with 1 wood & ore mine)

Description

The main purpose of these modified templates is to:
- balance the game on the small maps (good for map size S-L(+U) to avoid too powerful heroes & creatures)
- make similar gameplay to H2 style (battle result should depend on player's tactics not on player's artifacts)

1. Delete older balanced templates
2. Unpack archive to.. Your "H3_HotA installation dir/HotA_RMGTemplates"
