Basically:
(Note that the harsh language is part of the meme, not intended as disrespect. I still think HotA overall is a very careful work, even as I don't agree with the closed anti-community creation philosophy that leads to even retroactively remove scripting. If scripts worked, there would be nothing to complain.)

Are those Firebird banks common in HotA? I have only 2 of them in my map, so that does'nt change much, but I gotta agree it's weird they made a Firebird bank, while nerfing growth. That's like one step forward and one step back.

Pretty rare, actually, as they're limited one per zone IIRC. I feel the red towers are not actually there to necessary bring back the lost growth of fire birds, but rather give players a chance of having having fast unit in their army.

Maybe HotA team still nerf Castle, Stronghold and Fortress also Cove. Because of creature Bank. We need second meme phase or we don't believe in reason. But still the best answer. Fool mapmaker tries 4 Phoenixes for dwelling, what player can't take a dwelling by object or in underworld.

They really aren't that common. No more than griffin conservatories. You gotta be very lucky to find multiple ones of them. At least in longer matches a conflux player won't come close to the amount of firebirds he'd have if he had +4 growth just from finding towers. On smaller maps that might happen sometimes though.
But then again, fortress can be lucky to find lots of wyverns and same goes for other factions as well (giants, cyclopes, angels).
Red towers have actually become one of my favorite map objects to place. They just look really cool.
