or no you're right man the mods are the communist party of china, there is no free speech on this forum, we can't post our gifs 20 times in 20 different threads on a forum specifically intended for more in depth discussion,, we are being oppressed by the state the great purge has started

I will tell you what I think actually happened: for the first time since the "official result" was proclaimed, people began worrying that Trump's allegations might be reasonable. Add to that the fact that RealClear Politics withdrew Pennsylvania's win from Biden and you get a lot of anxious democrats eager to censor anyone who can expel them from the paradise the MSM has created for them.

You guys got the wrong idea it seems. By great purge I mean that Corribus appears once in a while and starts to delete/close threads and gives out penalties... to some extent it's become a ritual of sorts.
But since I see that I am already a target of some posts also...
Corribus is a mod so he decides, but it does appear he only penalizes one side, those leaning to the right (which are as valid views as any other). Might be subjective, but I don't like the fact that only some people get penalized and others get away with it as there are at least a dozen people here who contribute to how politics have overcome OSM or VW boards.
And to be honest, just becasue the "rightist" people here are pretty extreme, it doesn't mean the rest is without fault. You guys also troll, boast, insult and provoke (one of the best examples is how Biden supporters boast here after he won: please keep in mind that even if you hate it almost 50% of USA have voted for Trump and Democrats won by only a couple of thousands votes which shows how divided USA is and that the other group also has something to say about how they feel). I'm not without fault I've been already penalized and was also reminded to not curse, to which I complied. If you see me as a racist, sexist, rightist etc I don't care, you will probably never know how I am in person. Belive it or not I try to stay neutral, but it is not possible with how invasive politics are nowadays.
Frankly I don't know if I want to hang out on HC anymore, there are two threads left I'm still interested in. I will probably need to ignore the rest or leave altogether.

The threads that were moved to the VM generally started with a single image. This is not the type of content that is supposed to go in the OSM. I don't usually delete threads outright, so if you see a thread that is missing, I probably moved it. If you don't like that I moved a threat, HCM me and state a reasonable case to change my mind. I'm not closed to a persuasive argument.
As to my moderating - I moderate in lumps because I only check in sporadically lately, because of reasons that are my business. These days, a lot happens in a short amount of time. I hold no political bias in the way I moderate but the simple fact is that most of the offenders recently, those that treat people with the least respect and lob the most insults, happen to be people who hold right-leaning views. And it's only one or two of you for the most part who get the most warning and penalties. I am also most likely to receive directed complaints against right-leaning posters via HCM, and I am most likely to respond to complaints. Simple fact. To be clear: If you hold a right-leaning viewpoint and feel you have been insulted, you are welcome to send me an HCM with a link to the alleged insult, and I will be happy to take a look at it when I get the time. But frankly, the right-leaning posters here seem more content to respond to a perceived insult by tossing back one that's even worse, and those are the ones that most often catch my eye.
The best solution is of course that you just converse with each other like adults, read alternate opinions with an open mind, refrain from insulting people you don't agree with, and be respectful of our fellow HC enthusiasts. Pipe dream?

1. Yes it is.
2. That was much more of your time than they deserve.
3. There is established precedent for penalizing members for deliberately giving false information. See the curious case of LucPatenaude. Maybe handing out -qps in order to slow the flow will encourage members to vet their sources a little more. Honestly, it gets exhausting fact checking the deluge of political lies.
4. I've still never forgiven you for being a libertarian. Meritocracy is a myth in this country. Trump proved it.
