Any way to set permanent vision?

Hello everyone. Is there a way to give permanent vision for specific areas via triggers? I am looking for this for a long time and sadly still i haven't found any solution for that.

Is it permanent vision for the player, that is without the fog of war shrouding the vision?

If thats the case, you can either place a neutral army or hero in the specific area, and trigger a change of owner (use army properties) at any time you desire. Most likely you should block in this army so it cant be attacked or used. This will grant you the visibility that army posseses. If using a hero you can extend the visible area using artifacts and/or the Scouting skill.
The downside is, this will take up 1 army slot. Usually you can only have up to 8 armies on the map at the same time.

You can place a flagable object, like a mine or dwelling in the specific area and trigger a similar change of owner at any given time (timed event, placed event, triggered event).
Again you should block this if you want to keep the visibility, and prevent others from capturing the mine/dwelling.
The downside here, is that mines will generate an extra income (you can counter this via scripts if you want to). As for dwellings, blocking access to the dwelling, will prevent the use of caravans.

3rd option is to use eg. a garrison and make the guards stationary and blocked in or mod an object. I recall the fort can be triggered like a garrison, but whereas you can add the option to make objects flagable by modding and thus provide vision area, we can't yet add scripts to make things triggerable.

Hope this was helpful

Thinking a little bit further about Karmakeld's proposals, you could even use a customized object, for example something like this inaccessible and nameless Evil Eye dwelling which has no visible flag, but it can be flagged by triggered events. This way you probably can do what you wanted.

The only problem is the relatively small area that you can see around it.

i use eyes of the magi, myself. i usually place them at choke points so i know when the enemy is closer, or somewhere they will get stronger, or where they could die and lose armies.

You can place Outposts. This is an unused feature but it works.

another thing I researched. Outposts have less line of sight than garrisons.

If you make a custom garrison object with no entrance (or with just a side entrance), it acts like a better outpost.

Another advantage is that garrisons have flag anim, and outposts don't.

Then you just gotta add the flag/flagable option to the Outpost

Anyways, I set the flag and it appears in editor... but not ingame.

(notice how you can see they provide vision, but no flag is there)

I'll add an issue for it so that I don't forget to take a look at that.

Strangely enough, outpost flags are displaying now

I changed the map, but I absolutely didn't touch the object.

So who knows.
