- Full HD and widescreen support: Incorporation of the HD Wrapper, with edited fullscreen remastered menues and altered, brilliant buttons.

- Contrast-enhanced, color-corrected: A darker, more moody Heroes IV experience, fully reconfigurable from the menues.

- Relive campaigns like never before: Remastered campaigns with better ambience, added secrets, enabled previously unfinished events, story and features.

- Rediscover creatures: Thanks to the creature plugin, all creatures have abilities overhauled, with up to four abilities each. Discover the blocking Nagas, reevaluate tier 1 creatures such as double-hacking dwarves, and ambush your enemies in the woods with Stealth elves!

- Completely stable: Reliance on modern DLL methods and not hex hacking of the executable permits much less crashes. Enjoy hours of uninterrupted gameplay and worry not about your actions!

- No false positives: Unlike Equilibris 3.55 hacks, this doesn't trigger antiviruses warnings. Play with the security of knowing nothing fishy is going on.

- Incorporated objects: All map objects in the pack and both Equlibris versions have been added and are load-compatible. In addition, several completely new objects have been added just for this mod.

- Improved terrain: Fractal landscaping allows hybrid terrains for more lush and interesting sights, both in adventure and combat maps.

- Re-slotted Artifacts: Accumulate up to four tomes or scrolls in your Misc slots while you still hold Shields in your hand, upgrade your health to 200% with the Rigs of Health... but you can no longer obsolete Scouting by buying four spyglasses. After all, you can only look into one at a time ; ).

- Improved heroes: Now all hero classes come with a third skill! Use wisely the Diplomacy of Nobles, encourage the daily Summoning of your Druids, shine with the Leadership of Knights, or immediately raise hordes of undead with your actual Necromancers...

- New and Rebalanced Spells: Turned every cast-enabable pseudo-spell into a learnable spell. Rebalanced schools and gave more variety. Applied unused magic bonuses to corresponding ones. You think Banish is useless? Not any more! You can also now Freeze your opponents in Order, or obliterate your enemies with Nature lightning.

- Conserved lineups: No creature has been level-altered, town-switched, removed or substitued. Reuse the factions you know and love from default Heroes 4, with all the same levels, monsters, and classic choices; now revamped with all the new features.

Also, would it be possible to change the battlefield to use hexes instead of that uh... thing?

Those stuff is outside of the possibilities of the engine. All changes here have been made without hacking the game, as I specified.

Besides, I don't like "heroes having army limits" ; no Heroes game has ever had that. Plus Heroes 4 creatures already can walk alone, so...

If it were up to me, I would implement creature gold manteinance, and dynamic growth like "stacks growth" in WoG, so you have a balance between what an army costs to mantain vs its utility. Alas, it requires recoding which I cannot do.

On the other hand, the graphic brightness and color edit will probably please you a bit

However, I did give more damaging spells to other schools, like you mentioned (this was also done in Greatest Mod), since that can be done with some table magic and some icon edits. So you have something within your suggestions to look forward to

No. This is for the conservatives like you. Basically an equilibris-killer or "Heroes 4 Remastered".

Hi NimoStar, I am still new here, but I am very interested in the project, I am very happy about that. My only question would be, would it be possible to give units new upgrades, or is that completely impossible in this game? But I’m excited to see what happens to this project because Heroes 4 has always been my favorite game !! Okay good luck with the project !! : D

I was monitoring your progress every day(news).Fortunately I still love and have the will to play heroes of might and magic 4 and always on a search to find something new or interesting when modding the game.
this final result shows yours determination,hope,love,inputed energy...

Yes I like Nimo energy very much. We need restoration of Heroes 4. Now we can mod all we know but in future maybe fheroes4 engine! Im plannig give in english my old mod made in polish only. But I try add more than I was have done in 2014.

A lot of technical work has been put. Btw I wonder how did you achieve the DLL injections? Do you have some white paper/know-how on that or somebody else did it?

I think he mostly did some hex edits, but he'll have to confirm when he has the chance.

There is some work being done to figure this stuff out. Are you interested?

AN open source H4 engine version would be a paradise, sadly that project isn't existing yet. Even though I would think it's actually easier than H3 open source.

This mod is hex edit + table edit + plugin customization + file and UI manipulation + repacking.

Creature upgrades are possible with scripts (very long ones, but doable). The main problem is that we can't add creatures, so the only way of adding upgrades would be eliminating half of creatures from the game, which would be... unpopular.

When adding creatures is possible, it's possible to add upgraded version of every creature, and to make scripts that change one to the other for a certain price (and even "Unupgrades" would be possible this way).

I published the base way in which I thought to add more abilities to creatures. The DLL injection itself to achieve this was made for RoseKavalier. Sadly no more features have been added, but I'm hopeful that interest in this mod can make development continue!

With scripts too, recruiting all creatures is possible. I will see to include in the map editor towns which allow building all dwellings. There will also be GUI experimentation so castle recruiting screen doesn't crash in this cases, but I can't promise it works (otherwise you recruit by clicking building directly).

You can add only 6 creatures to recruit without crash. Because game has only 6 places to buy units. In preserve you can do nothing because portal needs 6th place.

Here you have:
Town recruting
I need hexediting help.
Where is this code they toked about :

memory address for town data was something like this:
0441CFB8 - 8 bytes, 64 bit data that some of them were used to determine wether that town have certain building or not (1 building = 1 bit, not all of 'em were used)
0441CFEC - 32bit pointer to Town Name (point to an ASCII-z string)
0441D034 - 1 byte, value 0 if you haven't build new structure for that day, value 1 if you already build one for that day.

Unit upgrades needs free new engine. Adding it in present game in correctly way is impossible. We have no animations no buildings. No places. We have nothing. Giving something primitive is not fun and useless and a lot of work.
And if we will have upgrades and standing heroes in fact we have Heroes 3 bis. For what?! We need something another. Rather I want experience system for units! You can change stats you want. And unit would be signed as example 33*II. 33 pikemans lvl2.
But It needs new game engine too. For now we can only repair game fails. Especially a lot of nonsensible alternatives. Pikemans vs ballistas, angels vs champions monks vs golems genies vs nagas dragon golems vs titans. Army: golem ,naga, dragon golem is nonsensible if you lost genies titans and mages. The same army line nomads, ogres; ghosts, venoms; minos, hydras. A lot of mistakes. Each city has very bad alternatives when only one unit is rational. It can be repaired.

Well, at least in my mod those "nonsensible choices" are fixed. The "weak" alternatives have been much stronger, with nagas blocking and having tri-attack, and Golems having Magic Mirror, while Dragon Golems have double attack (only lvl 7 creature that does this). Champions have Long Weapon allowing to attack unretaliated (it's actually Angels that are weaker).

PS: I am not so pessimistic about creatures upgrades. Sure, there might not be buildings inside the towns to do it, but there is certainly the possibility of having a "Hill Fort" type structure that upgrades your units.

Graphics of new upgraded creatures can be done by color and contrast shifting, which is mostly what is done in other games anyways. Plus we have the heroes, even though @Karmakeld never did what I told him of adventure walking heroes to use as creatures :'(

However, first things first, getting the ability to add new creatures.

Simply recoloring is a lot of work! And poor effect. To much work only to have on time fun for upgrade in external dwelling which should be placed on each map manually! Very complicated. How about add sign or flag eg number II for upgrade with no new model?! Fastest method a no a lot of work?!

Recoloring is much better than just putting a number. In fact, I would say recoloring can be automated. And look much better than WOG hack jobs, for example:

Once there is a software pipeline for automating color switching (also you can automatically mirror as I did here, but it's harder, since you need to switch left-right orientation of frames), there is no work. Only the automation gives work: Then the computer applies the same color switching to all creatures by itself, just click a button.

But again, first thing is getting to add creatures. As long as that is not solved all speculation of upgrades is hot air unless we eliminate half of existing creatures.

NimoStar, this announcement made me feel giddy.
I hope you can find the will and energy to see it to completion. I would definitely play it.

Just one suggestion: Please mind the faction balances and evaluate Equilibris modifications when you're working on creature abilities, spells, etc.
