There are just too many kinds of awesome cheese here. Almost every province have their version of ewe’s milk cheese, feta cheese, brynza…

Izmir tulum (brynza) is top notch.
Erzincan tulum too.
Konya has great feta cheese.
Then you have kashar cheese which is kind of like cheddar but much much better.

I like White American, other than for the fact that it is a very racist kind of cheese.

American cheese is unacceptable and is a dairy abomination. Yes, even the ones from Wisconsin.

Goat cheese is overpriced, and is best homemade.

and I personally prefer Red Leichester to cheddar. there's two cheddars I like, whiskey infused and Guinness infused, but I refuse to pay 6 bucks for a small puck of cheese.

I buy a Edam, Emmental and Gouda often. Old Amsterdam is also delicious but expensive 150g ~€5. My shop hasn't Old Amsterdam.

you're out of your mind if you think monterey jack, pepper jack, or sharp cheddar are bad cheeses, simply because they come from the U.S.  what you're forgetting, is that the people who had the intestinal fortitude to brave the open and perilous ocean full of sea monsters, harpies, and other various spooky snow, to find the land of milk and honey, were the hardiest europeans; and they brought their hardiness with them. hence, the cheeses, and other culinary skills they brought with them to make many improved versions of dishes from their ancestor's lands.

for instance, just take one look at pizza here and compare that with pizza there, and you know the U.S. is where it's at, brah. nobody but the HARDIEST of people put PINEAPPLE on their pizzas as well. why? because we're the best, that's why. you better recognize, gangbanger slur.

also, i forgot to mention large-curd cottage cheese. mmmmmmmmmmm... large-curd cottage cheese.

He is envious because the best wine, cheese, and beer all come from the United States I think he is being quite dignified and mature about it, all in all. In his shoes I would be much angrier about it. I nominate Kip for a +QP for his exceptional self-control and a complimentary gift of Rattlesnake Cheddar:

Yes. I don't think rattlesnakes make milk, but they simply invented a new rattlesnake just so that they could make cheese from her milk. Easy.

sure they do. you've never seen a rattlesnake's boobies? you think just because they're cold-blooded reptiles that they don't have awesome boobies full of milk? you can't seem them because they're underneath. obviously.

what, you don't believe me about reptiles having boobs? apparently, you've never seen this frog:

@fred

If by “there” you mean Italy, and you are under the impression that American pizza is better than Italian, I’ll have to conclude that you were lying about not doing drugs anymore and you are as high as a kite. You can actually see high quality natural olive oil in some of Italian pizza’s midpoint. Their tomatoes are so red and tasty, you almost feel sad to see them cooked. You guys use GMO material, mostly modified to maximize profit, turning half the population into obese kongs.

I summon Neraus to deal with this pineapple pizza lover!

@Artu

Sorry, but this is extremely flawed.

That's like comparing a katana made for a feudal lord to a Western sword made for a foot soldier, and concluding that katanas are better than Western swords.

Italy makes a lot of average'ish/okay pizza. I don't know if I would say "best" or not, but at the bare minimum, NYC in particular has a crapload of amazing pizzerias. So does Chicago. Personally, I do think New York-style pizza is better made pizza, but I haven't sampled every pizza ever made. Britain also has extremely good pizza.

So, when comparing U.S. and Italian pizza, we’ll compare the best pizza of N.Y. to the crappiest Italian?

I’ve been to three towns in Italy, ate pizza in all of them, and not in extremely “high class” restaurants, they were always quite delicious. Most important thing is, they are thin, so you can taste the actual ingridients better, instead of feeling like eating a bread sandwich. I’ve been to US, too. Mostly, they make it Chicago style, thick bread. And you guys seem to think thick bread is ‘the real deal” ironically, because your portions are always huge anyway.

I’m sure there are top notch pizzeria’s in a cultural capital like New York, especially with all the Italian immigrants but that’s not how you compare the average.

NYC is famous for its leathery texture dough that it heats at a very high temperature, which is delicious. Italian pizza isn't like that. It's sauce on a plate, which is good, but nothing really magic about it. Nothing magic about the tomatoes either. They grow even better in their native climate with the right care.

And if you're honestly unhappy about getting more food versus less, well, whatever lol. I'm 110% fine with leftovers.

Have you been to Italy and eaten their pizza? It’s certainly not sauce on a plate. And their fruits and vegtables are really tasty, it’s not magic, it’s the climate.

Sorry fred, but food is actually the one thing that Turks are really lucky about. It’s the best combination, kebabs from the east, olive oil dish from the Mediterranean, and since the empire was in the middle of all the trade routes before the discovery of the new world, hundreds of years of tradition of using all kinds of spices with the perfect touch.
