Returning player seeking modding advice

hey guys, havent played HMM5 in a while. Currently playing some online HOTA with my brother. We decided to give HMM5 a try. Im thinking installing 5.5
what else should i install while im tinkering with the setup? i remember back in the days hMM5 had a lot of mods, like integrated skillwheel and stuff like this. I dont think any of those old mods work with 5.5?
We will most likely be playing RNG maps. Any advice/guide how should i proceed with this?
and in general, any advice would be much appreciated.

just install the full mod with everything

Just install the mod itself - it includes the skillwheel, updated textures/graphics and what not https://www.moddb.com/mods/might-magic-heroes-55

hey, thanks for your reply. ive successfully installed 5.5 and read the pdf guide about creating random maps and patching them with scripts for hot-seat.
but now i have another issue. my framerate is terrible, even on absolutely lowest graphics possible. i tried tinkering with graphic settings and almost always on big maps fps is the same range. FPS is quite stable on smaller maps though.
intel i7 4k
16gb ddr4
GTX 1080ti
any way i can fix this other than playing on smaller maps?

Are you running the 64bit executable? Performance is improved that way, if nothing, by lifting 4gb ram cap (but you should check task manager while you have homm5 running and see what's going on - in options set windowed mode ON so you can easily enter/alt+tab into task manager (ctrl+shift+esc))

Best of luck
