The first version worked without problems with ERA. Now it doesn't even start..

It is entirely on the HotA team to limit compatibility and modifications to their addon. They make it as hard as possible and (quite ironically) do not like people modding HotA, which is totally their choice to make but can be quite irritating to some. If you wanna read more there's like 200 pages of "discussion" on this in the main HotA thread .

But I disagree a bit, SoD/Complete is still the best version for singleplayer maps, especially since the existence of SoD_SP and Unleashed Map Editor. IMO. The new ERA version is getting really close tho.

This caused, most probably, by <UI.QueueFix> feature dependant on the HD mod library for SoD. Try turn it off in NewSpells.ini.

Also you need to handle differently the animations table which is expanded by WoG (see all entries of ANIMS_NUM in the code).

Hi,

Really interesting topic. I alwayes thought that adding new spells to heroes 3 is something extremally difficult due to the fact that even modders as great as hota's were not doing it. Maybe its partly due to project vision. Great level of knowledge on your side for that. I am going to test this for sure soon.

Few questions have pop up intop my head along reading this post:
1) Would it be possible to use those add ons on older versions of Hota? I know that 1.6.1 have disabled plugin due cause of online component of the game. But older versions like 1.4.2 or 1.5.3 have ability to add plugins.
If not right now, would you consider makeing this possible for those e.g. 1.5.3? After playing so many years on Horn of the Abbys, going back to vanilla game is boring for me. At least we would have more balanced towns, Cove, some artifacts, more maps etc

2) What other aspects of the game can you modify via plugins? Could you eddit: secondary skills creature stats/ability, add new heroes with unique specialities, modify line-up of towns or maybe even add totally new town to the game without replacement of exisiting ones?


Suggestion at the end: Will you update first post of this thread with all new information? Thats what most of people who visit this page look up to, and it seems outdated. On 3rd, 4th page I have seen some plugins to download that are not mantioned on 1 post.

Prepere more tutorials how to make your own plugins. This about magic is great.

Pretty much everything. You can even add the chess game to the Tavern

New first aid tent seems to work - now it has 300 hp

I have tried to play new single player game, used thereisnospoon but there are no new spells

Well, first, you may try to disable <UI.QueueFix> (<UI.QueueFix> = 0) which will be disabled by default in the 1.03f version, second, you may try to update your HD mod version to 5.2 R78.

where can i find this <UI.QueueFix>? There is no such thing in tweaks
I'd prefere not to update hd mod to far, cause in new version there are no plugin

See NewSpells.ini in _HD3_Data\Packs\NewSpells directory. <UI.QueueFix> is for the latest HD mod version and may fail loading the plugin on earlier versions of the HD mod.

Btw, in the upcoming 1.03f version there will be introduced new cool features (of course, optional) for Explosion and Incineration spells. Explosion will reduce a unit's speed by 1 till the next round, and Incineration will prevent burnt units from resurrection/animation.

You have to follow a simple installation procedure. Copy NewSpells folder from NewSpells.zip to your _HD3_Data\Packs folder. Then you will be able to edit NewSpells.ini file.

OK. Don't edit NewSpells.ini directly in the archive First, copy it to Packs location, then change 1 to 0. Maybe you don't even have to change it, and just failed the installation procedure.

But you have posted the screenshot of it Now change <UI.QueueFix> = 1 to <UI.QueueFix> = 0 and save the file. Then add NewSpells in the HD Launcher.

Well, it's at the very beginning of the NewSpells.ini

You have -

Should be -
