You're counting children. Not 67 million, but 48 million of eligible voters.

Abstention doesn't have any role here. People who abstain = people who don't care. Of course some will say "blah blah, no one represents me so this is why I don't vote" , this is searching poor excuses.

The current voting system is very expensive. Banks can identify citizens by their credit cards tied to a passport. You may vote with it. Or the government can emit voting cards Anyway, it would be much less expensive and, what's important, more fair. I think, many of those who are lazy to vote, would do it, if it required just pressing a button. You may say that way you can easily buy votes. But don't we have such a problem already? Digital voting is less secure? I doubt it. There are as well security issues tied with counting paper ballots, random or deliberate mistakes.

Yep, the result's far better than expected.
Don't know if it's a win for France, but most likely it's a win for Europe and definitely a loss for Russia.

So, I'm guessing everyone pleased about this result, enjoys France being overrun with unneeded/unwanted migrants, hellaishous taxes, and having another WEF puppet directly affecting their country; while not supporting ANY of the country's ACTUAL RESIDENTS? No, let me guess, none of you do ANY research whatsoever on what that candidates actual EFFECTS are for the country; just so long as the media calls him the good guy, and he says all the things that make you feel good inside?

Just how many of you actually realize, and I mean REALIZE, that NONE of your "elected" leaders actually represent the people of their nation? You actually BELIEVE you are electing these people who serve in YOUR interests, and NOT that they have convinced you that THEIR interests are YOUR OWN????? You DO so DESPERATELY need to understand, that you are all being PLAYED like fiddles. The media you consume is their brainwashing tool. The schools that taught you, taught you to live your lives how THEY want, and think, for THEIR benefit.

I would so thoroughly enjoy, personally popping each and every one of the bubbles of "reality" that they've created in your heads. If you were to grasp the obvious (snowball's chance in hell), I would no longer think I am surrounded by a lesser slave species, instead of free human beings actually capable of individual thought.

Instead, I am incredibly disgusted by your naivety and wanton disregard (and even conditioned obedience and malice) for everything that ends all things free people hold dear.

Personally, modern democracy has shown us that people vote for the most miserable person; ie. necrophiliac, the clown, the daughter of a lesbian couple etc.
People are not so much motivated by what they can get, but are much more interested in cock-blocking - the U.K. is particularly egregious in only voting for actual migrants, otherwise they have to be totally obviously mentally incapacited.

Fred79,

I'm not sure what is worse.  Is it your white nationalist garble or the certainty that informs it?

A strange vote - with a sharpness, almost like Biden's, with a surge of votes for the incumbent president under the final and the proven damage to his rival's ballots. Punishers of the ruling regime opened fire to kill, killing on the spot two citizens who did not threaten them in any way, did not even protest France.
In comparison with Belarus, where the only victim of the first night (a drunken criminal who spent a long time in prison for a brutal murder), attacking law enforcement officers, died (the rarest case) from a rubber bullet. But I bet no one will say a bad word to Monsieur Macron. Nobody feels sorry for the French, women still give birth...

Uh no. I read about that and the story is other than you present it. A car tried to run over police, they shot back. As a rule, police in France is very reluctant to take guns out, some wish they had more rights but no.

Just curious, is the russian press the source of your claim?

Guess it's not about which of these two candidates in France is the real beloved hero...

The question is, could Le Pen handle all the issues currently infecting France better than Macron did or will do? Dispite the fact he may be an arrogant snob, what major faults did he do the last 3-4 years (in comparison to other leaders of biggre nations...)?

And no, it is not only about immigrants (which seems to be THE major issue for certain members here on hc!)...it is much more complicated (as some of you always point out )...

When you lost the ability of being tough, generosity and tolerance means nothing but weakness and fear of conflicts.

That's the current main problem in France.

No, the Russian press writes the same way as you do. I took the information from the livejournal of the writer Lev Vershinin (https://putnik1.livejournal.com), who lives in Spain.
I don’t know whether or not there was a threat to the health of the police, but I completely believe in the abnormal surge of votes at the end of the vote in favor of Macron.
Some time ago, I got acquainted with the studies of mathematicians who give their assessment of what is the probability that the past elections (any elections) were falsified. The analysis uses official data for all polling stations.
(I will clarify that it was for these elections that I did not study the data and did not conduct an analysis)
