Yeah maybe the problem is'nt money, but time or perhaps a lack of motivation or inspiration?
I was just thinking what we, as fans, could do to speed up development and that would be money and maybe encouraging words, if they care about that.

I know the answer. You can help by making those guys happy. When a man is happy it wants, well, things. To learn Japanese, to invent something that his descendants's children call wow, to sell fresh bread liked by everyone except bandits that periodically take your money. And if your government is snowty band of thugs, you can't live happily. Congratulations, you are in modern Russia I don't think that Russia is a bad country, but it definitely has been suffering for centuries thanks for people who don't appreciate even their space programs, people who don't really want to live in their Motherland/Fatherland and clearly hate it by sending their loved ones to study abroad, to live abroad. Do you see a sign here? I see. They don't want to live in Russia, and they rule Russia. How it's possible? How rulers who hate their own country can rule it?

Sorry for inappropriate politics. Just wanted to say that not all Russians are snow.

Went with Eagle Eye.

Maybe the intention was to make the ultimate version of Homm2, but it just doesn't achieve anything, unless the map maker especially have designed you to utilize Eagle Eye. The other "learn spells" mechanic Scholar is hundred times better than Eagle Eye, never really understood why they ended up with two separate skills toying with same kinds of elements.

Learning is probably almost as bad as Eagle eye, but by design it isn't useless, they just ended up with overly cautious version of it.

I agree Houglass.

Learning is pretty much just as useless as EE though.

Intelligence and Mysticism are a also both about mana, but Intelligence is clearly better, since it also works in towns, Mana Vortices and magic springs and is'nt made useless by Wizard's Well.

I guess if we wanted to keep the best of those two pairs, we could get rid of EE and Mysticism...

Help the dream of writing the mass spell plugin for H4. No programmer we contacted could understand the c++ of the plugin system that RoseKavalier did. Nowadays most new people work just in java or python, and I just use hex edit in assembly or LUA/JSON modifications I would say that the crowdfunding will pay but you said you con't care about that, so unless you change your mind...

Save us alexspl, you are our only hope!

Mysticism and Learning can be made useful just by tweaking some stats. However Eagle Eye is so useless by design, that even 100% probability woudn't do any good as the skill stands now, since only very rarely you fight enemy heroes AND they cast spells AND you need those for AFTER the battle.

If EE were to be removed, what would you guys suggest for the 7 EE specialists and Ash?
I guess you could just remove those 8 heroes, but that would mean 8 factions miss a magic hero.
Alternatively they could all have EE removed and instead start with Advanced Wisdom (Nimbus Basic Necromancy and Basic Wisdom or Advanced Necromancy) but what about their specialty then?
Or maybe the specialty could instead give some additional starting spells or something?

If EE is removed then it should be replaced with another magical skill (like gaining a spell on level up, up to 2 level basic, up to 3 level adv and up to 5 level expert, with 5th level having a very low chance) and the specialisrt heroes of that could have a higher % per level to gain higher level spells on level up.

Just an idesa, could be anything really, but EE should not be removed for nothing since that also messes skill probability distribution (so - called "weights")

H4 removed EE.. and replaced "Increases the effectiveness of X Magic spells" Remember without EE, specialty works.. But an ugly idea..

This is correct. The mods exist and work, just people don't know or pretend to ignore them.

It is the year 2022 and people are still waiting for HotA crew to improve their H3 game, with their own ideas. This makes me giggle.

A general 'spellcasting' skill that is half that of sorcery, since it would benefit all spells.
Artillery should be def+att skill, the rationale being both martial skills are relevant, and stops forcing attack over defence otherwise the skill is useless.

EE is adventure Secondary Skill.. I always call..

Strategy:

A). You don't visit your town
B). You don't conquest towns
C). Walkthrough
D). Tuned a difficulty map
E). Fear spell

Ok C and D.. When you give spells to your opponent AIs.. and you fight and get spells.. A map you disabled spells, but opponent AIs have spells.. Useful..

A and B are a very difficulty strategy for an average Joe.. But you can train C and D with.. So if you don't use a such strategy or play walkthrough, EE is complete useless..

E is ancient RoE strategy.. Because of hidden spell.. Today we can't use the same strategy, thus useless..

Voters never played walkthroughs?
