Poll Question:
Which gaming console should I buy?
I currently have a PS4 Pro, but I'm looking for something new.
My favorite console of all time is the Nintendo 64, but I also loved the PS2.
Some of my favorite console games include Zelda series, Metroid series, Goldeneye 007, Okami, Axiom Verge, Final Fantasy 7 and 10 and SSX series.
So I'm both a Nintendo and a Playstation kind of guy. I also used to be a pretty big fighting games fan, but not really any more.
Not sure there is much I want to play on Playstation anymore, I think I mostly want a Switch Oled or Switch 2, but Nintendo's hardware is always lagging behind and the games never really seem to drop in price.
So yeah it's probably between PS5 and Switch Oled or PS5 Pro and Switch 2.

Yeah seems like the Switch has a lot of nice games, it's mostly just the hardware being old and sluggish that concerns me a bit. So perhaps it's better waiting for a Switch 2, who knows, it might even come this holiday or next year with Breath of the Wild 2?

Reminds me I still haven't played Breath of the Wild 1... No time!
But I know some of the music. 
Yeah Nintendo is behind in terms of graphics it mostly depends on which games you want to play, but you seem hybrid from the start so my bet is you will end up buying two systems.

the fact that n hasnt released anything about their next console plus their personal and global financial projections tells me we're likely a couple years away still. mebe w botw2
every one of those games i mentioned runs incredibly well, i make it a point to not invest in games that review with any performance issues

@Galaad Yeah, I haven't played Breath of the Wild yet either, but I heard it should be amazing, maybe as good or even better than Ocarina of Time?
I could potentially buy both a Switch and a PS5, but I rather invest 100% in one console, than half-ass both of them, so I think it's going to be a Switch. (or Switch 2)
Kinda annoying we don't know how long we have to wait for a Switch 2, if it's like 1 year, I could easily wait, but if it's 2-3 years, buying a Switch Oled now, would perhaps make more sense.

ocarina of time was better at the time it came out, one of the most revolutionary games of all time, but it doesnt hold up as well today. botw is incredible, but overwhelming imo. i just cant get into these modern open world games, they require too much of a commitment, and emulate rl too much. i prefer more refined game play experiences.
im pretty sure we wont see a switch 2 until next holiday at the earliest

When you say next holiday, you mean november 2023? Sounds probable.
Modern open world games can be pretty overwhelming yeah and require a lot of spare time to play.

I started Nintendo, Sega, etc So I'm expert on console.. I strongly recommend PS and XBOX.. When PS for friends with in tournament, etc and if your style is rich life or not much with PC, then XBOX you spend much with PC also you play special games like Doom, Halo, Sport games 2k22, an example of NHL2K22 is much better than legendary EaSports, if you don't play them, but you spend much PC with, yes PS succeeds.. My bro asked me PS or XBOX.. Today he uses PS, when not much PC with, he is also ex-XBOX owner.. Many players don't know about console, if you are still Phoenix, why not both? You have a money or maybe you own a PC box, ipad, laptop, etc are the same thing as a console.. Buy both them, so you haven't question than knowing, experience also can play Doom, etc Then true computer, nerd or Japanese style owns many console, if you know in there finds console city sells from 1970's to until today games.. Hmm if you had liked Sega, its XBOX.. and I never owned PS, but played many times to friend's home.. If I buy a console, its XBOX for special games.. I had owned XBOX, but stole.. Don't forget I recommend both.. Ok plz..

I think original Switch was released in march, so march 24 could also be an option. We'll find out I guess.
It's just a little annoying the physical Switch games never really seem to drop in price, don't know if it's different if you buy them digitally?

I just bought a Switch Oled while I wait for a PS5. Not disappointed so far. Although my opinion on BOTW is mixed.
The never dropping in price is a Nintendo thing.

Yeah, that is actually what is making me consider a PS5 instead, but that is a lot more expensive to buy, so I don't know.
Guess I'm playing the waiting game a little longer. Also still waiting on that elusive HotA update.
