Black and White "God game" series
Black and White 1 was good for me. Yet, the graphics are a little bit dated, but is has perfect character. One of the few weaknesses is that you rely on your creature alone for combat.
Black and White 2 had an annoying campaign. I liked the addition of armies (so you don't depend solely on creatures) and the better graphics, but the devil and prophet guy never stop talking and the story is a bore...
Fortunately there is a mod (Redux) that adds skirmish mode and a skip land option.

What factions would you like to play as? There is Aztecs and Norse remaining.
