Of what has been, what probably will not be and what is
Horn of the Abyss has been the most promissing revival of Heroes of Might and Magic III the past decade, no question about that.
With the passing of our dear Docent Picolan, the mod transiotined from a state of yearly release to “stalled”. There is no reason on Earth to expect anything from it anymore, nor do we have the right to complain about it. We’ve been served greatness, the Journey’s been wonderful, but the ship has sailed.
It’s a fool’s errand to beg for the fixing of Heroes III’s glaring faults (talking about the obsolete secondary skills, among other things). Nobody is going to answer. We must take the matter into our own hands. It is what it is. If we are to revive our beloved child, it must be by the recreation of its engine, following the footsteps of the magnificent fheroes2 (https://github.com/ihhub/fheroes2)

It was to be expected since the unfortunate passing of Docent Picolan. I can't believe he had a successor as passionate as he was.

Its much disscusive. For me the most promissing is modding breaktrough in HIV! For H3 since two decades we have still new mods for various platforms. For H2 not so much but fheroes2 in 2 sets. Old and very promissing now. Second Project Ironfist. Third between H2 and H3 H3 Succesion wars. So we have movement in H2 H3.
But H4 was died to my mod in 2015. Since 2015 we have completly H4 ressurection! For now we have NEW UNITS in game!!!
Its absolutly most unwaiting rebirth! Restoration of H4erathia :0)))

I'm pretty sure Hota is not dead and that they will release Factory, once it's ready, not before.
