What to install
Hello, long time no see.
Since last time quite a bit has happened mod-wise.
Vcmi, HotA, Wog revised ... Others? What are the main differences and which one would you suggest using? (Keeping the natural feel of the original game, improving it instead of changing it completely)

Definitively HotA and the Heroes III HD mod.
Wog is now Era III and if someone putts a list of everything you need to do to make it work properly I guess I purpose a QP for it and the sticking of the page somewhere, maybe on top of the +100 mods for Era.

So would it be HotA (incl. Hd patch) and WOG or HotA or WOG?
Since you said definitely HotA one I will go for that first at least. How come Wog hasn't been made into a proper bundle? Too many independent contributors?

Hota is more focused on multiplayer, the added new content feels like an official expansion, and is top-notch graphical quality work. Some of the gameplay changes are debatable. Not customizable like wog and you can't mod it without hacking it but is definitely worth to install and play, a lot of passion in this mod.

I guess I didn't made myself clear on this one, Wog has evolved into Era and Era II was compatible with ALL Wog maps, some time ago Era III was not.
I use two separate installs for HotA and Era II as recommended.
By essence Wog can't really be made into a proper install and that's the beauty of it. You can mod everything you want be it proper or not. So, yeah! too many contributors, myself included.

I would recommend to check out the Advanced Classes Mod (ACM):

I find the ACM to be excellent addition and improvement over the old Wog 3.58f.

PS: If Launcher does not complete update set your timezone to GMT+3
As mentioned earlier, I would suggest to have separate folders for different game versions (CTRL+C CTRL+V folder, done) :
1 for original H3
1 for ERA III Launcher (my recommendation)
1 for VCMI
1 for HotA
So you can try between different mods without risking conflicts.
