Suggestions for HOMM4

So you guys. I have connections with 3DO. I'm going to e-mail a bunch of ideas to the producers to include in Heroes 4. I've already made a list of my ideas. Anyone else wanna suggest anything?

I thought about this for a long time, but I finally figured out a new town with new creatures and heroes that I would like to see in Heroes IV. Here are my ideas:

Town: Asylum
Might Hero: Ghost Stalker
Magic Hero: Tempest
Description: The Asylum is a town dealing with two types of elements, light and dark. It is both efficient in might and magic, but it does not work very well with other towns. While its creatures are weak from level 1 to level 3, level 4 and 5 being average, but level 6-10 are very strong, but costing more money. Creatures now can have up to three upgrades, the town has level 10 creatures, and all upgraded structures now have different names.

Town structures:
1. The primary structures (blacksmith, city hall, castle, mage guild, resource silo, etc.)

2. Sanctuary- Provides the hero with +3 morale and +3 luck. Gives 1 of every resource a week, including 2000 gold.  Also increases creature production by 2 each week. Resources: 20000 gold, 2 mercury, 2 gem, 2 crystal, 2 sulfur, 10 wood, and 10 ore. (requires all creature dwellings, except Sanctum, not upgraded)

3. Alter of sacrifice- Sacrifice creatures or artifacts for experience Resources: 2000 gold, 10 wood, 10 ore.

4. Temple of worship- Adds 1 to your knowledge and spell power Resources: 1500 gold.

5. Temple of warfare- Adds 1 to your attack and defense Resources: 1500 gold.

6. Ancient chapel (like university)- Learn a skill for 2000 gold (skills change every month). Resources: 5000 gold, 5 of all resources (requires temple of worship and temple of warfare)

7. Shrine of the light- Teaches 1 air and 1 water spell unknown to the mage guild (a new spell, such as fear, or cataclysm). Resources: 5000 gold, 5 crystals (requires mage guild level 5)

8. Shrine of the dark – Teaches 1 earth and 1 fire spell unknown to the mage guild (such as bone shards and fire spin). Resources: 2000 gold, 5 sulfur (requires shrine of light)

9. Reflector- Increases the number of dark, light, and reflector elementals by 12 per week. Resources: 1000 gold

10. Gold stash- Increases the production of rogues, bandits, and barons by 20 per week. Resources: 1000 gold

11. Grail: Glyph of the Saints- Provides 5000 gold each day, increases creature production by 50%, and all heroes receive +10 to all primary skills and casts all spells with minimum spell points (50% less points).

yeah, I know, but my uncle works for both 3DO and Blizzard, and my suggestions will be filed, regardless of what 3DO has already created. The game will be out in 4 months. Plenty of time to adjust. Besides, I posted this for suggestions for the game.

Some suggestions

Darkmyth_Miura,

Is it true. h4 will really come out in 4 months???

I would like to see the following in h4:

a). creature exp idea (see that thread for details)

b). town diversity: town should be developed into various purposes: military, magic and economic, player has to make decision on the path of development of towns.

c). h2 type of campaign i.e. you have two or more paths to choose from to complete the campaign. For h3, you will only play campaign for once.

If h4 is to come out in 4 months, I think major changes may not be possible for it.....

that town sounds dope, but yeah, it also sounds too powerful, is it an evil neutral or good town type, and what kind of creatures does it have?

id also like to know what towns r gonna be in homm4, how many from #3 will not remain?

Here's My Town Idea, tell me what you think!

Forgive me if the names are cheesy and (or) the stuff is too powerful.

The Cliffs- Neutral

Types of Heroes

Amazon:     Attack: 2
   Defense: 3
   Spell Power: 0
   Knowledge: 1

Shaman: Attack: 0
  Defense: 1
  Spell Power: 3
  Knowledge: 2

Basic Structures: Capital, Castle, Tavern, Blacksmith, Market, Mage Guild

Other Town Structures: Singing Stones: (+2 morale for garrisoning heroes and +1 morale for adventuring heroes [lasts for 1 battle])
Inspiration Edge: (+1 defense to any visiting hero)
Exploration Mines: (+250 gold, and 1 unit of 3 different resources each week)
Breeders: (+10 to eagle production)
Winged Beasts: (Pretty much a stable with fancy name.  

Grail Structure: 5000 extra gold, 50% Creature Generation, All allied heroes can fly, walk on water, and creature speed +2

Creature Structures:

Level 1- Nests: Eagle, Great Eagle (Increases Scouting)  
Level 2- Tree of Wisdom: Owl, Golden Owl
Level 3- Cave- Bear (Throws Rocks), Bear Shaman (Shoots Beam [like magi], small chance of casting weakness)
Level 4- Celestial Pond: Nightingale (Regenerates HP), Dove (+1 to Morale and Regenerates HP)
Level 5- Pit of Darkness: Chimera, Winged Chimera
Level 6- Wicked Forest- Mocking Bird (-1 to enemy morale), Crow (-1 to enemy morale and chance to paralyze enemy with fear)
Level 7- Cliff Edge- Rock Creature, Diamond Creature
(Level 8)- Cave of Flames- Bahumut (Can cast fireball), Greater Bahumut (Can cast inferno)

I noticed people saying that my town is TOO strong. Well... 3DO is creating Heroes 4 with all creature attributes increased by 2 points (simple terms: stronger creatures). So, I would recommend people post stronger creatures.

Your idea is good. A "bird town" is ok. Heroes are weak tough. Their primary skills should add up to 6. You're heroes add up to 3. I would make stronger heroes. Otherwise, it's good. I do not know whether 3DO will except a "bird town" or not. The Bahumut seems cool. Well, keep posting.

First of all if you have any connections to 3DO DON`T LET THEM REMOVE ANY TOWNS!I mean I read some posts with stuff like the towns will be only 6 and stuff and I really DISAGREE!Because here most of the people in my town expect Heroes 4 and want much new stuff ESPECIALLY new towns but when I told them what I read they said it was quite dumb.So please at least let us play with more towns!
That`s the thing that bothers me most about HOMM4 .And of course don`t let HOMM4 changes to a version of aoe!Cuz I read that those guys at 3DO would put some stuff from there.And it would be better if Heroes of Might and Magic stays unique,wouldn`t it?

town changes aren't major changes?  I find that harder to believe.  I'm willing to bet that the towns they have now are the ones they will use when it first comes out.  Its not necessarily the idea that they can't put in more, but its the idea that they have to have the base structure/concept of the game done by now.  And that means the # of towns and how they balance out as a group must be done.  If they don't know what the towns are going to be now then the games in worse trouble than I thought.

However, new towns we post could be incorportated into expansions I would imagine.

more towns not less towns

i do not think they should get rid of any towns, i only think they should add new towns, i do not like the idea of having fewer towns, it really pisses me off.

something i didnt really like about homm3 was in the expansion with the conflux, u cant have all 9 castles playing at once, just because they didnt want the colour yellow cuz its the colour of piss (i read about that b4 homm3 came out)

People are so misinformed!!

A few things about the game: (All of this info can be found at: http://www.toheroes.com/heroes4/data/database.html, some parts of information are qouted from this website as well)

1. It is not going to be like AOE. It's just going to have the "birdseye" type view. In other words, it is still "turn based" but it is going to look more like AOE.

2. The reason they are taking out the "Fortress" and "Inferno" is because the towns are not part of the storyline. Another part of this reason is because they wanted to change the magic scheme. Instead of using the elements as basis of magic they used their type of genre. So by doing this they combined some towns to form the new towns. The new towns and their magic type are:

Academy: Similar to the Warlock/Tower; Lawful Good
Necropolis: Similar to the Necromancer; Death Magic
Asylum: A mix of Fortress/Inferno; Chaos Magic
Haven: Similar to Knight/Castle; Life Magic
Preserve: Similar to Sorceress/Rampart
Stronghold: Similar to Barbarian/Stronghold; No Magic at All!
Stronghold is a might town, able to create some of the toughest units, and instead of a mage guild it has a 'breeding pit' to increase unit production.  Stronghold has the advantage of hiring any hero; a significant advantage, since players will only be able to hire heroes associated with their town type.

Note: A necromancer will not be able to use life magic, like as a knight with chaos magic.

3. Yes heroes will be able to fight and form groups to make strong armies.

4. Creatures can move without a hero but they don't gain any bonus (morale, luck, hero abilities) and they cannot carry artifacts.

5. The whole level up system has been given a make over. Now heroes are develop by experience upgrading 9 primary skills, each with 5 levels of mastery.

6.(quote) Towns unit build structure tree isnt fixed; there are many ends to produce varied monsters depending on the path of construction you take.... so two different Academy towns could have very different units!

Thats about all that I can think of (and get off of that website )

I like ideas i see
i would like to add a few

1) hero dies but army lives (assuming heroes fight) u walk at half speed and picture of your strongest guy carrying your hero to base.

2) if you take over someones main castle chance of revolt (ie buildings destroyed or town lost if no army in base)

3) skip campain button (how many times have i formatted computer and lost all my saves) so you can start at later campains.

4) hero exp gained for shots taken (again if hero fights) so you cant just sit at back of battle gaining exp when over

5) long range assault spells (slow hero, plague town ect...)

6) (sorry if gettin long, or repeating other things said) carpenter hero (builds towns maybe, walls, turrets like warcraft and mine spells for adventure map.

oops forgot something

a couple things i forgot on last post

1) spawn install so i can bring cd to friends and play vs him/her (note not sexist) although we far outnumber them from what i see (Male)

2) land moderation in game ie. your moderator (hero) can teraform earth. (maybe destroy mointains " BUILD ROADS"!!! destroy bridges/ repair bridges) at a cost for sure and build towns at real high cost 100,000 gold and 500 ore/wood

3) do something about dimension door (far to easy to jump over gates or mountains) ever try to make a map where they couldnt attack a spot till they do a quest? nearly impossible without dissabaling (dissaba??ing) fly and DD.

well i think i spoke enough for now [3DO, NWC I Love what u did with the rest of the series) except for the damn shadow of death (why didn't u make it expansion????) i couldnt play the damn thing and i wasnt gonna spend 60$ on it even with 10 $ rebate.

I owned all there products homm1-3 pol and AB but i couldnt bring myself to spend another 60$ cnd on shadow of death!!! Dont they know that when SOD came out everyone who was goin to get it already owned all homms? i mean SOD WASNT GOIN TO GET PEOPLE TO START PLAYIN!!! watever thats in the past and I plan to buy homm4 the day it comes out like 3.

ok, i just took another look at that academy town, and as soon as a saw that mage guild (ya know that building that looks like a bunch of childrens building blocks) i just couldnt stop laughing, thats gotta be the ugliest and stupidest thing ive ever seen, i mean this is suppose to be a type of war game, well what the hell r a bunch of childrens building blocks doing in the middle of a castle, i mean what the fuk, if any body needs a good laugh go to http://www.toheroes.com/heroes4/data/town8.jpg the mage guild is just hilarious

yeah, Heroes 4 is out in 4 months. And yes, I have connections with 3DO (don't doubt me). I already sent them the bird town idea. Currently, there are 23 town ideas that they really like. They are sorry that they could not include the bird town amongst the new towns. So far, 5 out of 23 towns have been permenantly added to Heroes 4. They are limiting the number of new towns to 14. Anymore, and they will have to charge $23.50 extra for another CD. Heroes 4 will be around $50 to $60. The probability of the game being 2 CDs is high. 3Do is trying to decrease the # of CDs. Lets hope that they are sucessful.

14 new towns!!! I have been suggesting to them not to remove any old towns (by the request of a lot of you). They replied with:

"Dear (my name),

There is little chance that we will delete any old towns from Heroes 3 ORIGINAL. Recent polls suggest us to do so. In fact, we are trying to include as manuy towns as possible. But the game cost may vary due to the # of CDs. To make the price of the game close to $50, we must limit the number of ideas that we had in mind, including the shifting battle terrain feature. But we are trying not to delete any towns; although alterations to the old towns WILL be made."

well i'll be damned

uve gotta be bullshhiting me, 14 towns in homm4, thats just awesome, thats just great, what r the towns that r going to be in homm4, other than the asylum, haven, academy, preserve, stronghold, and necropolis, cuz i already know about those, and how come on alot of the sites ive visited, they said that homm4 will only have 6 towns, or was their information false, and is there only going to be 6 creature levels like ive read, or is that information false aswell, and darkmyth_miura, id really apretiate it if u could keep me fully informed and tell me any new news u get, that would be great.

I got a reply by 3DO. They said they have to limit the towns. The original 8 or so towns will be included in Heroes 4 (still a slight chance that they'll have to delete something), but they have to limit to 10 towns of 6 level creatures. If they have even fewer towns, they could make up to lvl 10 creatures!!! Well... you decide. More towns, les creatures per town, or more creatures but less towns. You chose.
