what`s your favorite hero
I think all of u have a specific hero to each town!
Mine is Christian for castle and Solmyre for tower
what about you?

Heroes...
Mephala's great.. .but so is Solmyr.. Crag Hack has his charm.. .  ...I recently tried Sir Mullich for the first time.. He's good too. .  I'd say Solmyr's the greatest...

Tower: Neela/Cyra
Rampart: Kyrre/Elleshar
Stronghold: Crag Hack/Dessa
Fortress: Tazar/Andra
Inferno: Pyre/Ayden
Castle: Sir Mullich/Adela
Dungeon: Gunnar/Jeddite
Conflux: Monere/Brissa
Necropolis: Galthran/Thant
Overall: Any logistics hero will be my top pick.

Gelu and Dracon are campaign heroes and will not available in standard scenarious unless they're enabled! :-P :-)

I like Gelu, Draco and Young Christian for camapings and Sir Christian, Ivor and Xyron for scenarios.

Heroes
I like well... Roland, Catharine ,Gelu and Gem in AB and SoD campaings and Gem, Christian, Thorgrim, Mephala, Tyris and Edric in normal scenarios.

Well, my magic hero would be Jeddite or Demeer, and my top might heroes are Craig Hack and Tazar. With Tazar, Fortress is unbeatable.

Sir Mullich is unfair
That hero is too overpowered (+2speed to all your units)
I always ban him from the maps I have made.
Oh and my opinions of the best heroes (Sir Mullich excluded)
Castle: Loynis
Dungeon: Jeddite, Gunnar
Tower: Solmyr
Necropolis: Thant
Stronghold: Terek
Fortress: Bron (will start usually with some basilisks and has the resistance), Tazar

I think Mutare Drake/Dragon whateva you prefer to call it is the best and Dace is pretty good as well

Best or favorite?
I'm a true fan of Sandro since HOMM1. He can't be in a list of the most powerful heroes, but I like his background story (just look at my profile if you want to know about that story) and his HOMM3 pictures are great (both the skeletal and the "SoD Sith Lord" faces)
But if we're talking about outstanding heroes, well, there are a bunch of unstoppable ones: Gelu, Dracon and Sir Mullich are a sure purchase when they appear in the tavern. Solmyr is a good starting hero with his Chain Lightning, Kyrre & Gunnar can run fast if you need logistics, Alamar the Resurrector is another cool hero that has been in HOMM since the first installment (I don't remember the name of the other resurrection specialist). And if we talk about necromancers, Thant has no rival with his animate dead specialty, although Septienna and his powered necromancy has also a point.
About Xeron, Kilgor and the Mutare Twins, they are good in large maps, but his 7th level creature specialties are not as useful in medium maps.

Well heroes 3 is done to death, what about heroes IV? I mean, sure their aren't specials, but since it gives you the option to recruit any leader of the given fields. I always always choose the same one! Paskovich The Vampire! he's my fav, Sandro looks like a dumbass tho lol sry  I liked him in 3, but he looks goofy now, A couple of the thieves look cool. But i think they should have some good lookin female necros heh

Uhm ... why???
My favourite is Dessa. In general I slightly prefer heroes with strong adventure map abilities (Logistics, Diplomacy as starting skill) before combat-orientated specialists (like Hack, Tazar or Mullich).
