Summon Phoenix - bug or feature?

When a creature with spell points is summoned, the spell points of the whole stack are set to maximum. Is this a bug or a feature?

Imagine a stack of 20 summoned phoenixes. When the enemy is able to kill this stack, 10 of them are reborn. Now my grandmaster in nature magic casts "Summon Phoenix" again and I have 14 phoenixes with _full_ rebirth ability. I cannot believe that this is a feature! What do you think?

(I've posted this at the 3DO board, too)

I think it's not a bug. It's natural for the newly summoned creatures to have full spell points since they are different creatures.

BTW, it seems creatures created by illusion spells (Create Illusions & Phantom Image) can't use any spells! So if you create illusions of water elementals or genies, they can only be melee units. Do you think this is a bug?

Maybe. Now, however, we can also say the same thing (bug or feature) about the spell "Summon Faerie Dragon." If you summon 14 Faerie Dragons, they can cast their lightning bolt spell, and do, refresh my memory, how much damage? I think that's somewhere around a thousand damage--every time they cast it. That's considerably more damage than they do with a melee attack, even more than Phoenixes.

it's not a bug, summonings get refreshed sp-points and illuisons can't cast spells. I you want the phoenixes to stop rising, just kill the hero first.

For me it is a bug!

To me it would be logical that new summoned creatures will add spell points to the stack, but not raise it to the maximum. E.g.: 4 new phoenixes add spell points to be able to raise 2 of them.

Yeah I've noticed that.. I love it.

I was fighting Lord Harke in Elwyn campain, and he just kept destroying my stack of summoned Phoenix which I kept replacing each round. Every time the entire stack died, about 6 or more were reborn for free, and this stack of Phoenix just could never be put away. That was the best use of summoning ever. Phoenix are just made for summoning.

...Or just add them together and average them:

14 Faerie Dragons: 14/16 SP (*14)
6 New Summoned : 16/16 SP (*6)

14 FD: 196
6 New FD: 96

96 + 196 = 292/20 = 14.6 rounded to

15 Spell Points.
