change of ERAS

Now some thangs were good in dif eras then others like example 50's Coke used ta have Cocaine in it but was banned I think in 61 one but nowadays it's dif.
Thy 80's had some awesome toys while nowadays iut sucks.
Example Transformers rocked but then Go-Bots tried ta ruin it later.
Candies now in thy 60' & so it was all good natural fun candies, now it's all extracted & alot of other crap & not as good as thy old days.
Fodd was all natural in thy old days while now all organic which is good I have ta give us that nowadays lol.
Now going way back in thy say 1920's alcohol was never water down but nowaydays it is.
I would love ta go back in time ta try some of thy thangs from thy old days.
History facinates me even in these subjects.
If any has more or disagrees dont feel shy ta post even though i dought you will I dont mind I just like sharing

Actually mine is diferent she only talked about 80's if you read throuhly you will see what I am getting at lol
Basically she was saying what 80's & 60's were cool in those days.
This is totally dif.
Mostly comparing Eras from how it is now
Like example I buy some candies how they used ta make it all naturally made but nowadays they put so much stuff in it too look fresh etc.
You will see it is quite dif but it seems you killed another thread of mine if you dont want me to post just say so loool

Yeah, in the old ERAS, WC threads were much more natural, now they put all kinds of silly artificial ideas into them, like ... well, never mind, U might as well go read'em yourself

Well, talking from an american standpoint :
50's = McCarthyism, Cold War, Segregation
60's = Vietnam, Segregation, Cold War
80's = Reaganomics, horrific music and hair
20's = alcohol may have been watered down, but it was illegal.
"Natural food" = dust bowl, crop failures

I'm quite happy with my current ERA (3.24 - I had to pitch against the Red Sox, then the Yankees, then Barry Bonds) and the era I live in is pretty good, too.  Even though we are the target of terrorist attacks.

What about Queen, Sir Elric? Who wants "Oops I did it again", when they know "'39" or "Dreamers Ball"?

Wow, Woock, I'm impressed.  Aren't you like 14 or something?  If so, let me compliment you on your taste in music.  Most 14 year olds have never heard of any Queen songs except for We are the Champions and Bohemian Rhapsody.

For the record, though, '39 is from the 70's.

... And if you wanna talk about Heavy Metal it'd better be from the 70's not the 80's... (- Quote from a band called Jaya the Cat -)

Couldn't agree more!

Great thread Acu !!!

Found this among some old stuff I had & thought I would add it here. I.....of course am so old that I do remember all this & then some.  lool

Close your eyes...And go back in time
Before semi automatics and crack...
Before SEGA or Super Nintendo...

Way back...I'm talking about
Hide and seek at dusk.
Red light, green light.
The corner store.
Hopscotch, butterscotch, doubledutch,
jacks, kickball, dodgeball.
Mother May I...
Red Rover and Roly Poly.
Hula Hoops.
Running through the sprinkler.
An ice cream cone on a warm summer night...
Chocolate or vanilla or strawberry or
maybe butter pecan.

Wait... Watching Saturday Morning cartoons...
Short commercials.
Fat Albert, Road Runner, The Three Stooges, and Bugs.

Or back further...When around the corner seemed far away,
And going downtown seemed like going somewhere.
Cops and Robbers, Cowboys and Indians, Zorro.
Climbing trees, building igloos out of snow banks
Running till you were out of breath.
Laughing so hard that your stomach hurt.
Jumping on the bed.
Pillow fights.
Spinning around, getting dizzy, and falling down...
Being tired from playing...Remember that?
The worst embarrassment was being picked last for a team.
War was a card game.
Water balloons were the ultimate weapon.
Baseball cards in the spokes transformed any bike
into a motorcycle.

I'm not finished just yet... When you'd reach into a muddy gutter for a penny.
When you got your windshield cleaned, oil checked,
and gas pumped without asking, for free, every time...
and, you didn't pay for air.
When nearly everyone's mom was at home
when the kids got there.
When it took five minutes for the TV to warm up,
if you even had one.
It was magic when dad would "remove" his thumb.
When it was considered a great privilege to be taken
out to dinner at a real restaurant with your parents.
When girls neither dated nor kissed
until late high school, if then.

When they threatened to keep kids back a grade
if they failed...and did!
When being sent to the principal's office was nothing compared to the fate that awaited a misbehaving student at home.
Basically, we were in fear for our lives, but it wasn't
because of drive-by shootings, drugs, or gangs.
Our parents and grandparents were a much bigger threat!

Didn't that feel good? Just to go back and say, "Yeah, I remember that!"

Remember when... Decisions were made by going
"eeny-meeny-miney-mo."
Mistakes were corrected by simply exclaiming, "Do over!"
"Race issue" meant arguing about who ran the fastest.
Asians were called Orientals, and they lived far, far away.
The worst thing you could catch
from the opposite sex was cooties.
It was unbelievable that dodgeball wasn't an Olympic event.
Having a weapon in school meant being caught with a slingshot.
Scrapes and bruises were kissed and made better.
Taking drugs meant orange-flavored chewable aspirin.
Abilities were discovered because of a "double-dog-dare."
If you can remember most or all of these,
then you have LIVED!!!
