Demon Herding???

How do u ppl demon herd? i once tryed that thing and i could barely make 17 demons Is it possible to make more than like 17 per month if it is i wanna learn how to demon herd

Yes, Arch Devils, Efreeti and Pit Lords make excellent Demons! You could have close to thirty that way!

Well, seriously, you can sacrifice your Imps and Gogs for Demons in battle. Some people have habit of turning Cerberi as well into Demons.

Yes you can sacrafice Imps & Gogs but it's a complicated procedure & Wiggy_Wam perfected this procedure to having even over 200 demons within a 2-3 week period on some maps.

Basically it's a dificult procedure for say demons have 22 HP & imps have 4 HP so it will take 6 imps to make 1 demon.
I am not sure if how many Pitlords it takes to make more or if you only need one.

Deamon = 35 health
9 imps = 1 deamon

get diplomacy, play hourglass2 and then your ready to overcome any necromancer in raising creatures

the best is to attack shooting opponents guard.... send the group towards the shooters... kill some of the shooters untill your stack is down and perform the ressurection of deamons... Be aware that ring of life etc. that gives +1/2 health is also very usefull for this situation.

think about it... a simple group of 35 pikemen... can give you 10 deamons add +1 life ring to this situation and you have 1 more deamon

OKi heres your formula..

1 pitlord can create 1.4 demons per battle..

so if I have 10 pitlords this means I can make a total of 14 demons this battle.
but
14 demons = 490 health.

So you need 490 health worth of creatures. Diplomacy is definately the tactic to use for mass demon spawning.

BUt also on most maps you have multiple towns ect. the thing to remember is only living things can become demons. And you can't make more demons than there are numbers in the destroyed stack. Ie: 1 titan will not creat 9 demons

The best creatures to create demons with are.

Pikeman - OH ya.. 10 health 4 pikeman = 1 demon
Archers - same goes.
Griffons are great too.

Centaurs are about same as pikeman.
Dwarves are prolly the best demons out there.
       2 dwarves = 1 demon 8 per week.. thats 4 more demons

Orcs, wolves, goblins, gnolls, lizards all excellent recruits.  Trogs being nice and plentiful are good too.


ANother good way to speed up your demon making process is to get a magic hero get him intel and about 60 mana +
If you have clone your cloned stacks of Lords can spawn demons as well. So If I have say 10 pit lords (assuming I have enough troops in single stacks other than the pitlords) I could kill each stack, clone the pitlords and spawn 14, 28, 42, 56 demons or however much I had enough health and mana to do.

ALso if you have problems killing creatures to spawn there are a number of ways to do that.

Of course direct dmg area spells, meteor, fireball.
Or some more inventive ways, like blinding the last stack of enemy and sticking your future demons into a firewall spells. (this can take a while without high spell power but its effective)
Other things I find very very handy, is in a huge battle. Like say lots of titans or some such. Late in the game when you have a lod of spells .. you can bring a stack of like 300 imps they will of course die, but if they don't use the sacrifice spell to ressurect another stack.. then turn the little ones to demons.

Anyway in case thats all babble.. I most often when demon farming open my calculator, and get a peice of paper.
THis is nessecary if you want to be effective and are not a supra-genius.

Heres your formula:

# of Pitlords * 1.4 = Total possible demons
health of Destroyed stack / 35 = number of possible demons

you stick to that rule, and alter your stack sizes to optimize your farming , you'll do fine.

Without diplomacy, 1 additional town and your iinferno you should be able to accumate at least 80 demons or a 4week perioid.

thx man! that realily helped alot... i was confused about demon herding but now i am  not. Best thing is that u can turn sacrificed ones into demons.

I had a question that I am too lazy to try...

Does anyone know if recanters cloak/ red orb will cause your pit lords not be able to create demons?

And further more, does Black orb allow you to make demons out of such thigs that are not normally usable

Demon Raising

I don't think that the recanters cloak or the orb of inhibition will prohibit the raising of demons as it's a specialty.

I think it acts the same as the efreet sultan's fire shield.  

I do know that archangels can't res, but that's becuase it's a spell as opposed to an ability.

Yes, the demons stay with you after the battle.  No, the pit lords cannot raise demons when the Orb of Inhibition is in play.  When you put the cursor over the dead creatures during the pit lords' turn, the cursor turns into a spellcasting icon, so demon-raising is obviously considered to be a spell.  When the Orb is around, you get no spellcasting icon and the battle log bar confirms that spells are prohibited.

Only few informations are missing:

The raising of the Demons is not an "ability", it is a "spell" (those definitions have consequenses with arts and stuff)....to be more precise.. its a level 2 spell...so it does not work on cursed grounds.

Although allspells cast by creatures , are done on advanced level with spell power 6, the magic ground has unfortunately no influence to the amount of raised demons.

You cant raise demons from non-living creatures such as necros, golems or gargoyles (even orb of vulnerablity wotn make them alive), but u can raise them from resisting creatures such as dragons.

How to do it?

Easy... make a chain with fodder on each scout on day 15. upgrade Pits to Lords on day 15 and make the hole chain raise some demons per scout. With that way you raise about 80-100 demons without making it to complicated and face your opponent with a huge advantage on your side.
