What compound is used both as rat poison and as a heart medication?  (absolutely no prize to the winner!)

Digitalus?

Hmm... I should have checked if there were multiple answers before I asked the question.  I don't know if arsenic or digitalis is correct, I DO know that the Gootch's wife's cooking IS correct.  What I was thinking about was Warfarin which in small doses thins the blood and prevents blood clots and in large doses (ie - when used as rat poison) causes hemorrhaging.

what do we have here...i think someone killed andi, that doesnt deserve a penalty? just shows you mods dont give penalties to everyone eh? a single f*** is worse than that? you guys stink. and even if its only the hamster, writing such things about animals alone deserves a penalty, considering to me or motor you give it out for any snow, but thats beyond you guys, you think you do a good job. lol

Well, in fairness to Cat, if you look back through the posts, she's not the one who has been throwing "Andi" into the snakepit.  In fact she's been the one who fished him out.  Of course, I'm only defending her because she promised not to wear any knickers.

So are you saying I should get a penalty too because I came after you with Rat Poison?  It's all in fun.  Heck, in Conn's shop thread wer're bar b queing your corpse.  Just have fun and play along, besides, I don't think the mods will mind if we pretend to kill you after all that swearing.

So what you are basically saying is that you have every right to bash Andi just because he has used a faul language (which he alrdy has gotten penalties for btw)???

That problably qualifies as the most braindead comment ive heard this week. What if all people thought like you in this world, "oh there is that guy that just got out from prison for a bank robbery, lets beat him up alittle...no one would care anyway since he has robbed a bank earlier".

And all of this thread seems like this to me, that because of the fact that Andi has tossed around all of you can do the same to him but you do it in a RPG way so it wont be so obvious. And there are no involvement whatsoever from ppl with power here. Wow talk about double standards, when Andi tosses its brainless jokes that are just waiting to get penalties because they are so dumb...then someone makes a thread about why he should be stopped and how to stop it and he gets a QP for it. And then the very same person is here tossing around with comments like "And it's the truth.
Everyone is really has a fuzzy happy side to them. I feel bad I threw andi, really.. But He looked dead for a sec.

So lets see if i got this straight...its allright for you to toss Andi because he do some tossing himself, but yet you first give tips how to stop him from tossing and then you toss back at him. A difference is also that he gets penalties when he tosses...

Dunno why but somehow this seems alittle unfair...i cant really put my finger on it tho...What can it be?

Behold the wonders of allegories. Ever heard of the nursery rhyme, "Jack and Jill?"

Jack and Jill went up the hill to fetch a pale of water. Jack fell down and broke his crown and Jill came tumbling after.

Jack, Jill, and pale were all measurements used for taxing products a few hundred years ago in England. This is a protest against the King's (broke his crown) stupid taxes. If you write it like this, you can't prove that the writer is attacking the king, but everyone will understand the general message.

The writer can just argue:

"I was just writing a little kids story. I would never attack the King. I love the King."

Okay, I've taken my share of Literature classes and I understand what allegory is.  I've listened attentively to the "Moby Dick represents God/Environmentalism/the irresitable power of nature/our own personal demons/a big honking whale" and I realize that Wizard of Oz is a protest novel touting populism and the silver standard and I see how the Madwoman of Chaillot is a rather transparent, but nevertheless masterful metaphor for modern society(well, modern 70 years ago but still applicable today) and I'm aware that more of Mark Twain's work is allegory than not and I'll buy the argument that Dracula really represents our animal drive, our "ID" if you will and I know that ring around the rosie is supposed to refer to the plague and that rock a bye baby was an attack on one of the English Kings.  I'll even let somebody claim that Buffy the Vampire slayer contains multiple subtle yet insightful metaphors without laughing them off the podium.  But what exactly is this thread an allegory for?  I'm sorry, I'm trying, but I just don't see it.  Funny thread?  Yes.  But allegorical, I don't think so.

The rodent represents some members feelings that andi,(Picked that name at random, it doesn't actually represent any posters living or dead) a poster who may have become infamous for pointing out stupid threads or posts, is in actuality a kind and gentle creature and really lovable.

At this point, members(who may or may not have been "victims" of andi's barbs) found that the rodent representation of andi was not as scary as the (Theoretically) real andi.  They then put this non threatening "nice" andi through various tortures, representing their anger and frustration at not being able to confront the real andi(Theoretically real andi) themselves.

Aculias, I love Andi.  This is why I have made a thread to show how sweet he really is.  Sir Elric was able to make a nice lil' thread showing the mod's MSHQ secrets, so I'm sure i'm allowed this..

Andi is cute and fluffy.  And so nobody can torture him anymore, I have given him to OT to put in The Box.

I was responding to Sir_Stiven explaining that you couldn't prove that people were making subtle attacks, because it's in RPG. It's similar to allegories. They have the ability to attack people without actually "attacking" them. This is the reason why people can get away with it.

The simple swears are obvious and have no question of doubt. The subtle attacks in the RPG have lots of reasonable doubt.
