Renovation of the Altar of Wishes
This is to announce that a major clean-up and renovation will take place in the Altar of Wishes during the next few weeks.
One of my goals as moderator on the Altar is to clean the place up a bit. There's 1000 threads there, some of which have not seen the light of day in over a year.
Current thread count is 831, so a bit more than 15% of the threads in the Altar has been moved or deleted.
This clean-up will focus on topics started after November/December last year, since Unka's earlier cleaning should have taken care of the threads that are older than that.
For some of these threads which deal with HOMM 4 issues may get deleted. In some cases I'll ask the HC community on advice on which Threads we want to keep and which we can delete.
As I go through the topics I will assign the rating of "average" to any topic considered for deletion. Right now I'm at topics with last posting date of 1st of November (page 19).
I've marked many topics with the status "average". Anyone wants to keep any of them? Anyone who thinks more topics should be deleted than those that are marked?
This janitoring will affect your post count, especially for some of the long time posters here. Please don't shoot the janitor if you lose a yellow star. 
I will use this thread to announce which threads have been moved, or renovated. (Only major renovation of threads will be announced.)

Yay! Congrats Djive! For one, I would like to see the town idea threads remain (the ones that have different fresh ideas) as well as the new ideas like mounts for heroes and day/night and stuff like that.

Threads that are linked in from the index (and I believe all those you mentioned are) will not be considered for removal.
The threads that will be up for consideration will usually have other better threads as alternatives covering the discussion.
As I said I'll come back on details for exactly how this will be managed.

One way to solve the problem of almost duplicate threads is to merge the ingredients of threads into one larger thread. Congratulations for your new mod position Djive.

Just to put some emphasis on this.

I've marked several topics with the status "average". Anyone wants to keep any of them? Anyone who thinks more topics should be deleted than those that are marked?
For the topics I've marked as average, I'd like feedback before two weeks has passed from now. Then I'll go through the topics again and if I still see nothing to keep in the topic, then it will be deleted.
You will also notice that I've changed ratings on a lot of threads. Apart from "average" I've also marked up a number of topics as "interesting". When I get time, I'll go through these again and it's not unlikely that a few more QPs will be assigned to them.

Sword??? You don't think I'd use the sharp edge on all these things. Would be blunt in no time flat.
I converted the official broom into a "Thread Vaporizer" and use it to zap things.

Now only NINE days left for "average" marked topics between 1st of February-31st of March. (Last day 16th of August)

Well, if that's the general feeling I should probably have marked more topics Average. Feel free to suggest more topics for deletion.
If anyone wonders how many of the topics have been marked average then it's roughly 20%. (And this is after I've removed about a third of the topics...)

Update: I've deleted most of the "average" marked topics back to 1st of January.
Now 3 days left for "average" marked topics between 1st of December-31st of December. (Last day 30th of August)
Edited to update:
I've marked topics as "average" back to 1st of November.
7 days left for "average" marked topics between 1st of November- 30th of November. (Last day 13th of August)
Notice: Cleaned up the topic. This step of the renovation part is nearing its end ...
